  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791)
He is a composer of the Classical period born in Salzburg and died in Vienna at the age of 35.
He is considered among the greatest classical composers of all time.
He composed impressive works like opera, concerto, symphony, sonata, etc. (893 works are listed in the Köchel catalog)
From the age of three, Mozart revealed prodigious gifts for music: he had absolute pitch and certainly an eidetic memory.
Mozart learned the harpsichord in his fifth year from Leopold Mozart, his musician father and the young Mozart subsequently learned the violin, organ and composition.
Between 1762 and 1766, the young Mozart undertook the Grand Tour during a long musical journey with his family. They went first to Munich, then to Vienna, on a long tour of Europe, which took them again to Munich, then to Augsburg, Mannheim, Frankfurt, Brussels, Paris, Versailles, London, The Hague, Amsterdam, Dijon, Lyon, Geneva and Lausanne.
Between 1773 and 1781, he met Joseph Haydn in Vienna. He maintained throughout his life a correspondence and a friendship tinged with admiration, reciprocal with Haydn. Mozart will get him the affectionate nickname of "papa Haydn".
