This reminded me of the day my daughter took me to a yarn shop in her city, Indianapolis, Indiana. Evidently not too many men in that area are crocheters or knitters, because at first the ladies working there were a bit standoffish, but as soon as they really discovered that i actually knew what i was talking about, they were all about showing me yarns and, of course sold me some great stuff. We had so much fun. I also got intriduced to Thai food that day for lunch. What a great day!

I am from UK and I sample knitted two cable mens jumpers for one of his books a few years ago, so I had to smile when I saw you mentioning his wool. He had not brought out his own range then, that came later, what a small world we live in. I have knitted for about 40 years but only taken up crochet the last couple - it finally clicked how easy it really is. Love your videos and your mum is great.

There used to be a great yarn store in Lubbock, Texas, called The Shaggy Sheep! People used to come and knit and talk. I used to knit the patterns for display. I sure do miss that place!!

I had a great time,coming with you and your mum. Wish I could have really been there tho. You have ever so much more yarn shops there than we have in Australia .. there's none near me. I did notice the rather hefty price tags on some of the yarn you bought. Translate that to Aussie dollars, and it becomes totally unaffordable for me. Have you considered doing a live stream where we can all grab one of our WIPs and all visit via chat with you OR a quick project tutorial to do together …. ??? Sounds like a fun way to spend a grey winter day - fun for us but probably a tad more stressful on your end. It would be great just to interact with you live whether any of us get any work done or not. ❤

@@EliseRoseCrochet -💕 there have been Lots of times I watch live streams of new UA-camrs I discovered days after the stream actually occurred and although I couldn’t interact in real time, I felt I got to know the UA-camr and the regulars that showed up - and I found myself making sure I scheduled so I was available to join in the next time- also I’ve left comments for the live streamed video regarding conversation points along with many others who “participated”after the stream - most people on a channel aren’t clicking in for the live stream for a couple reasons - either they didn’t know about it or they couldn’t match their schedule with the stream time (so they watch later and still reap the benefits of the cozy community vibes). If you did it on a scheduled basis (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly) people get into a rhythm and more and more show up. You’ll find there will be a regular group who are able to make it each time and they all become a good circle of friends. 💕
