It was because, should the shields drop, the Daleks COULD get out. They might, they might not, but they COULD. And, as it seems with every type of Dalek we meet, the insane ones are 'More dangerous than ever' (As are Dalek Empires, rogue Daleks, a single Dalek trapped in an underground vault....And so forth...)
with a one little difference: when they makes pigmen, they're only four, without energy and basically at one step to extintion. And the only one Dalek that really believe in change, are been exterminated by the other three. Not like "look, we usually exterminate the other of us that are a little bit different, but hey, why not create a whole planet full of them without reason?"
Oh, and I'm curious about your thoughs on the other episodes, now. Power of three: "Look, billions of mysterious alien cubes! I must investigate and if I got nothing, at least threw away of the humans all those things! ...No wait, I don't really care, I just play Wii! Lol, I'm The Doctor, Fuck the intelligence!" Or the Angels take Manhattan: "Yeah, giant statue walking around the city, stomping here and here. No one notify or watch it. No one. Sure."
"And look, now we have a Republic with a Council! We're emancipate! And also we have spores that can turn other life forms into Daleks because fuck you coherency, fuck you continuity, fuck you all those "master race, purify, exterminate all it's not Dalek" things that define us in the past! Let's make spores and change everything into Daleks, good ol' Sec are not that crazy after all!"
Because all other life forms are inferior to Daleks. Merely letting other life forms live is not part of the Dalek's concept of the future. Sure, they have them as minions, which does seem to confuse me, but for the masses, they need to be exterminated.
I wish I was here for say to Moffat: "Another totally predicable storyline, great start. And good job with messing with the entire ideology and background of the Daleks, champ. Just like you done before with the Angels. Who are the next, the Cybermen? Can't wait, really." He has single handedly sodomised the single most iconic attribute of the series in the most juvenile and pointless way possible.
I love how the Moff says, "Don't hate me any more than you already do." LOL.
Awesome stuff. Just watched the episode, was great. So far the series is looking promising. Cheers for this

Why do the Daleks need an asylum if even an inmate like the Oswin Dalek had the power to wipe their memories clean?
goodbye matt... I still will love you...
He means Nicholas Pegg, another Dalek operator. :)
It's so weird that Matt doesn't wear a bow tie!
I am NEVER going to forget that ballet-dancing Dalek.
At 7:45 what does Steven Moffat say is not going to be in this series at all?

It was ether I sleep or fangirl over Smillan, guess what I chose...
My friend went there :)
Did Matt Smith OUT Nick Briggs?
Weird how they sit Matt away from Arthur and Karen.

there were a few, but they got lost in the big amount of Daleks in the Episode...
"And random Regenerating Energy spam, just because fuck you continuity!"
