My Phantom 3 Pro developed a “gimbal disconnected” error, which no one can solve without repair and no one does repairs on the P3 anymore so that as they say is that. Anyway I saw this video. Looked at a couple of others and the result is my DJI Air2S comes tomorrow. 👍 Update: Man what an upgrade from my Phantom. Everything has been improved! 👏
Great video as always Darren. Got the Air2S when it came out in April in UK and no regrets. Firmware updates have definitely improved it even further. Another bonus compared to Mini2 is extra headroom with 5.4k 10-bit video - this has saved my bacon when editing down to 4k timeline and the ability to crop, pan, zoom to correct minor flying errors. Shame that Mastershots and ActiveTrack aren't available when shooting 5.4k (doubt it'll ever come via firmware updates as higher res is resource intensive) but can always drop back to 4k to use those as needed.
I might be 2 years late, but after 1.5 years learning to fly, film and edit with the DJI Mini 2 I've purchased a refurbished Air 2S from DJI! I bought your LUTS a while ago and have been using the DayBreak on my Sunrise videos and hoping to see the colors pop even more when I use your D-Log LUTS!

I do not get the need for object avoidance. If you want to fly close to stuff get an FPV cinewhoop. Lower latency and do not have to worry about bumping into stuff.
I was out flying with wind over 30MPH yesterday. My Mini 2 could just not cope, but my Air 2S had no problems at all. I just joined FPVUK and part of their membership improves where the Air 2S can be flown. I must try the tracking again. I have not tried tracking since my 2S crashed into trees a couple times in its early days
I want to upgrade my drone. I currently own the mavic mini 1. It’s a toss up between the mini 2 or the air 2 s. Is the air 2 s really worth the extra money? Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks 😊

I would wait till the 3 pro drops. Out of the two I would pick the 3 pro standard combo will be better in many ways and retro fitting should be coming soon

It will become a legacy drone , until the c class drones are released which hopefully the Air3 will Be. I’ll keep this and sell/ upgrade just before 2023

However I would not look to sell it, because I can’t afford to loose money on it and then go buy another one. So what I was wanting to understand is if I kept it what can’t I then use it for, even with the pilot licence.

An e mail back to him giving my flyer and operator number and reason , and permission was granted. Like you, I have the prefect combo in the Mini 2 and Air 2S and between the two of them you can cover almost any eventuality. As you say, financially it's a bit of a luxury having both but together they are a dream team. Are you getting the Hubsan Mini Pro? I saw the first unboxing and test flight video earlier today and it looks very encouraging. Even with some features still be be added through firmware uodates, it's certainly not the shocker that launch event made it seem.
Well, I have a Parrot Anafi, a Mavic 2 Pro and a Mini 2. Recently bought Air 2S for 1130€ in the combo version. I am thinking about it to sell the 2 Pro now... and of course, I am waiting for a Mini 3 :) I hope they will continuously add some more features. Thanks for your honest review
I wanted to ask you, hopefully DJI sees this comment, but I've having trouble with range and signal, lost connections on 1.4.8, and when in sports mode the camera keeps tilting down, and I've hardly even eased forward, this is on the MINI 2, has anyone else had trouble like this, because there not answering back to me. Thanks for all you do, Darren 👊👍ps I had no problems before on 1.4.4.

Great to see you're now enjoying it and no doubt it's fantastic with that 1 inch sensor but it wasn't a big enough upgrade for me from the MA2 and I had purchased the DJI fpv not long before it released so I couldn't justify getting it but I'm all in when the Mavic 3 Pro eventually drops, looking like Q1 2022 going off of recent rumours/leaks, so I'm happy with the MA2 it does nearly everything the Air2 S does except for the better camera, great vid Darren and your Wales trip pic's look fantastic 👍
@@DMProductions it's a hoot mate I be beaming and have the shakes after each flight, manual mode is crazy but once you get to grips with it you don't fly any other way and the beauty of it is if you get in trouble touch if a button and it flies like a Mavic, it's fantastic, looking forward to the video 👍
Picked up a Mavic Air 2 fly more combo off a guy on Ebay, only flew it 3X for $600 + $48 Tax +$21 delivery $671 total. The DJI Air 2S & Mini 3 pro will also drop in price. Why is everyone comaparing the Air 2S with the Mini 3 when in my opinion The 2S is way better Than Mini 3 Pro and is closer in comparison to the Mavic Air 2? Good review Darren and pleased you have come round to my view. on Air 2S I learned to fly with Mini2 and now also have the Air 2S. brave to admit you were wrong; not easy to do that mate.
Dude when you buy the new drone always wait a least 2 or 3 months for new updates because most of this drone features are software base and can be fix with simple update. always Be patience when new products coming. I have some problems like you said with this drone but I wait for update and with this new updates the drone is great right now. Keep up the good work man. Me and my girlfriend house are (2km) from each other and I sent her the love letter and some flower with my drone air 2s near her windows once in the week and she answer my letter and sent it back with her air 2 and we have a lot of fun with this drones 😁

The actual machine itself is near the top for design. I seriously can not see where or how it can improve, except in things like the battery, motors, props, cameras, cosmetic stuff. But, software can and will improve over time and the A2s will be here a long time.
Air2S looks nice, but I am still holding onto my old Phantom 3 Advanced, because here in Sydney - Australia, there are so many places we are not allowed to fly a drone in recent years, so no point for me to buy new drone :(

@@DMProductions yes, but I use it with the dji smart controller. Just nicer so nobody can call me during the flight 😀 And in combo with the mini 2, I only have 1 controller.
Need to stop making excuses for being wrong about the Mavic 3 Pro. It will come out when DJI has suckered most of your money on these lessor drones. If or when the Mavic 3 Pro comes out it will be promoted as a true Prosumer Drone and not for the average Joe. I hope it does cost above 2k and make itself a real working tool for us Professional pilots.
I fly my mini 2 all over So Cal and it draws soo much attention it's crazy! The distractions are soo bad so i just fly without the thumb sticks and just let it hover now 😊
I used all 3 batteries on my Mini 2 today and no problems. It was over 38°C or 100 °F and the shiny metalic Air force silver wrap skin i put on it reflected the suns rays and kept it cool. Kind of like a sun visor for your car. Yes i am sunburnt lol 😊
It's like 1700 dollars after taxes in Canada for the flymore combo, looks like a good drone though. I just bought the mini 2 for 800 for the flymore combo, so still expensive but I think it will be fine for what I want to do with it.
There are two categories to look at, hardware and software, Hardware limitations are difficult to fix but the software, of course, DJI need just need time. Not saying this is good or not just is my experience with DJI.

"We are never going to see a full on Active Track on THIS" *Wav's hand over the Mini* -that one didn't age too well 🙄 True that NO ONE expected Mini 3 Pro to have capabilities it did -in fact, it has ALL the flight and autonomous modes of Air 2S, Mastershots, Focus Track... ALL of it! Oh, and most of it can be shot vertical at well. So no, that one didn't age well! 🤔

Nah the colour science shit is overrated the 5.4k tho and 4K 60 is simple better then the 2 pro sorry tech gets old and it isn’t as good in some areas anymore obviously it has some bonuses but overall the air2s is better.
The magic 2 pro, although having a Hasselblad camera, can only shoot 4K 30fps and air 2s can shoot 5.4K 30fps and 4K 60fps, the color difference is just hasselblad natural color resolution which can be done with editing on air 2s. Also the Magic 2 pro only has 2 positioning systems while air 2s has 3, both of them feature a 1 inch sensor so air 2s does not have a lower dynamic range, as both also shoot 20mp photos, and air 2s has a much further range than mavic 2 pro, of course the air 2s is better, it’s lighter and younger, similar comparison between iPhone X and 13
I hope the CAA make a decision along with DJI regarding CE classing. As of now It is classed as a legacy drone as it has no CE markings and at the end of 2022, all A2 C of C holders will lose the rights to fly down to 50m horizontal separation!

Mavic Air 2S + Mini 2 = Hubsan Zino Mini Pro. We have all the qualities of a DJI Air 2s in a 249g body where we don't have to worry about the law and very easy to transport. Or DJI launches a mini 3 identical to the Hubsan Zino Mini Pro or bye bye DJI. Most people who buy drones at the moment are amateurs who want portability, video/photo quality in a 249g body so as not to worry about the country's legislation. Right now we have it all on the Hubsan Zino Mini Pro.

I like the A2S a lot! But for the kind of flying and video I do? That beautiful 1" Sensor is desirable as hell, but it's overkill. Add to it that face. Only a mother drone would love old 4 eyes! So I saved $470 and got a "Used" Air 2 from Amazon warehouse. "Used" was actually just open box. Never activated, all components still in sealed bags, batteries never charged. $829 for Air 2 Fly More. Longer flight times. Occusync 2.0 vs 3.0, no "Master Shots" No upward sensors, and that camera 😢 - overall? It's Goldilocks PERFECT for me. I'm a tech fiend, so naturally I feel the poor relation, but logic still says I got the right drone for me at right $$$. If I start making money flying,,l my next drone may be an Autel Evo 2 Pro + Autel Smart Controller, just waiting to see what DJI brings in the Prosumer Class first. We shall see! Just to let you know, DJI confirmed to me after a long email session that the software on the Air 2s causes noise when the footage is even a little overexposed, and causes noise when using an ND filter. The only time you can get near-perfect footage at a constant rate is morning and evening on a place with little shadow casting (basically a grassy area), or a huge area with...idk...concrete 😂. I was fuming! It could be so much better. They also told me it's a "Hobby" drone hence why the software isn't as good!
I upgraded from the original Mavic Mini, and I absolutely love it. The quality and the control are just a joy to work with. Great video!

Have you heard about zino mini pro? It has a 1/1.3 sensor. It has front, back down sensors. It is under 249g. It is almost an air 2.

Best downloading a drone app like drone assist it will tell you on a map the nfz. Remember you can fly in nfz with permission from atc

Yep I have. This is the 3rd brand new mini 2 I've had that does it. The gimble also lifts up when facing directly down when coming to a stop

The actual machine itself is near the top for design. I seriously can not see where or how it can improve, except in things like the battery, motors, props, cameras, cosmetic stuff. But, software can and will improve over time and the A2s will be here a long time.

Air2S looks nice, but I am still holding onto my old Phantom 3 Advanced, because here in Sydney - Australia, there are so many places we are not allowed to fly a drone in recent years, so no point for me to buy new drone :(

Need to stop making excuses for being wrong about the Mavic 3 Pro. It will come out when DJI has suckered most of your money on these lessor drones. If or when the Mavic 3 Pro comes out it will be promoted as a true Prosumer Drone and not for the average Joe. I hope it does cost above 2k and make itself a real working tool for us Professional pilots.

The distractions are soo bad so i just fly without the thumb sticks and just let it hover now 😊

I used all 3 batteries on my Mini 2 today and no problems. It was over 38°C or 100 °F and the shiny metalic Air force silver wrap skin i put on it reflected the suns rays and kept it cool. Kind of like a sun visor for your car. Yes i am sunburnt lol 😊
I am using a Vivo Nex S Android phone with the DJI 1.4.4. It's my gaming phone but it's the only one that seems to work flawlessly with my Mini 2 😊
It's like 1700 dollars after taxes in Canada for the flymore combo, looks like a good drone though. I just bought the mini 2 for 800 for the flymore combo, so still expensive but I think it will be fine for what I want to do with it.

There are two categories to look at, hardware and software, Hardware limitations are difficult to fix but the software, of course, DJI need just need time. Not saying this is good or not just is my experience with DJI.

ALL of it! Oh, and most of it can be shot vertical at well. So no, that one didn't age well! 🤔

Get your hands on a Mavic 2 pro and you will see the real difference. Much better dynamic range and the colour science is far superior ;-)

Nah the colour science shit is overrated the 5.4k tho and 4K 60 is simple better then the 2 pro sorry tech gets old and it isn’t as good in some areas anymore obviously it has some bonuses but overall the air2s is better.
The magic 2 pro, although having a Hasselblad camera, can only shoot 4K 30fps and air 2s can shoot 5.4K 30fps and 4K 60fps, the color difference is just hasselblad natural color resolution which can be done with editing on air 2s. Also the Magic 2 pro only has 2 positioning systems while air 2s has 3, both of them feature a 1 inch sensor so air 2s does not have a lower dynamic range, as both also shoot 20mp photos, and air 2s has a much further range than mavic 2 pro, of course the air 2s is better, it’s lighter and younger, similar comparison between iPhone X and 13
Plus the mavic is way more expensive, like 500 more at least
Mavic 3 is out. Expensive. Got an air2s with 1hr flight time for $410 usd
I hope the CAA make a decision along with DJI regarding CE classing. As of now It is classed as a legacy drone as it has no CE markings and at the end of 2022, all A2 C of C holders will lose the rights to fly down to 50m horizontal separation!

Mavic Air 2S + Mini 2 = Hubsan Zino Mini Pro.
We have all the qualities of a DJI Air 2s in a 249g body where we don't have to worry about the law and very easy to transport.
Or DJI launches a mini 3 identical to the Hubsan Zino Mini Pro or bye bye DJI.
Most people who buy drones at the moment are amateurs who want portability, video/photo quality in a 249g body so as not to worry about the country's legislation.
Right now we have it all on the Hubsan Zino Mini Pro.
I would be very surprised if the Zino can outperform the mini 2 and Air2S

I like the A2S a lot! But for the kind of flying and video I do? That beautiful 1" Sensor is desirable as hell, but it's overkill. Add to it that face. Only a mother drone would love old 4 eyes! So I saved $470 and got a "Used" Air 2 from Amazon warehouse. "Used" was actually just open box. Never activated, all components still in sealed bags, batteries never charged. $829 for Air 2 Fly More. Longer flight times. Occusync 2.0 vs 3.0, no "Master Shots" No upward sensors, and that camera 😢 - overall? It's Goldilocks PERFECT for me. I'm a tech fiend, so naturally I feel the poor relation, but logic still says I got the right drone for me at right $$$. If I start making money flying,,l my next drone may be an Autel Evo 2 Pro + Autel Smart Controller, just waiting to see what DJI brings in the Prosumer Class first. We shall see! Just to let you know, DJI confirmed to me after a long email session that the software on the Air 2s causes noise when the footage is even a little overexposed, and causes noise when using an ND filter. The only time you can get near-perfect footage at a constant rate is morning and evening on a place with little shadow casting (basically a grassy area), or a huge area with...idk...concrete 😂. I was fuming! It could be so much better. They also told me it's a "Hobby" drone hence why the software isn't as good!
