    Awesome videos buddy! Tell me something how do you identify which way the conrod fits onto the piston and also the big end cap? Thanks alot

    Nando como estás?
    Tira-me duas dúvidas. Estás a usar uma cambota de um 1.9TD e ao nível das polies, tens só uma regulavel (a exterior) ou também montaste a interior?
    Grande abraço,
    Rúben do jetta mk1

      Baos Ruben, O cambota é ABF. Só o regulavel exterior, ajuda a mover os CV com os Schrick árvores de cames

    great channel, great video's I really like it as Im currently also rebuilding an ABF on throttle bodies. Can you explain why you use the PD headbolts? Stronger by construction? greetz Ronald

    • @RestoDesignsnando
      @RestoDesignsnando  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks Ronald, 👍🏼 I had to use the PD head bolts due the using a 1.9D block, ABF head bolts are m11 and the 1.9D are m12, that's my only reason, but if I maybe make another 16V turbo one day, I'll do it this way.

      @@RestoDesignsnando thank you for the explanation. Can I ask you what kind of cams you will be using, and what kind of power do you aim at to achieve in the end?))

    • @RestoDesignsnando
      @RestoDesignsnando  2 роки тому +1

      @@ronaldcorstens8383 The cams are 268º Schrick's at the moment, aiming for around 180ish I think is realistic, then play around with cam timing inner and outer, try a few inlet manifold options, and maybe try the split 276º 268º combination.

      @ronaldcorstens8383 2 роки тому +1

      @@RestoDesignsnando ahh very nice) i think you will achieve that goal) Im curious to hear why exactly the 268 & 276 degrees combination instead of both 268 degrees?)

    • @RestoDesignsnando
      @RestoDesignsnando  2 роки тому

      @@ronaldcorstens8383 I've not tried the 276º in, 268º ex setup, but I have seen others getting good results, I've had good results with a Kent 260º inlet and std ABF ex cam. 175hp on a standard chipped ECU. The ABF seems to like split cam profiles.

    diesel block ?

    • @RestoDesignsnando
      @RestoDesignsnando  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, in the other video's it explains why this is, In short, the ABF block I got has been badly honed with a hand drill, finding an ABF block here isn't easy, the 1.9D block/engines here are lots and I was given this block, why 1.9D block, same hight as an ABF and the bore is 79.5mm (ABF 82,5mm) so even a 1.9D with 900,000KM will be perfect once taken to 82.5mm, all the crank/oil pump and gears, rods, pistons are ABF, the only two issues was due to it being an early 1.9D block the crank tigger wheel didn't fit, (I'm using a standalone ECU so not an issue for me) and the head bolts, ABF M11, this 1.9D block as well as TDI's are M12. So used cut down PD head bolts and drilled the head from 11.5mm to 12.5mm👍🏼

    Funny fact.
    Bigger rings, create drag = less HP

    • @RestoDesignsnando
      @RestoDesignsnando  Рік тому +1

      yep 100% just wasn't able to get a set here within the time frame, in the end this is a road motor and this ring setup is still smaller an OE.

    • @RestoDesignsnando
      @RestoDesignsnando  2 роки тому

      To start around 180ish, then going to very a play around with cam timing inner and outer, try a few inlet manifold options + throttle bodies maybe.
