  • After receiving a few DMs on my IG I thought I'd share how I usually make my Chalices.
I made this last week for my son who just received his First Holy Communion.
This is the most easiest and quickest method I use.
The sugar paste is 50/50 but fondant works just fine. For the molds I recommend using all gum paste for fine details.
I painted it twice allowing it to dry in between and then added some dry silver lustre dust on it for an extra effect.
To stick the craft stones I used Royal icing.

that's the most outstanding sugar goblet that I have ever seen...I was searching for how to make a prop goblet, but this is just great, I will just switch sugar for clay of some sort

Beautiful. Do you need to add support under the chalice? Where do you get the pattern mould? Thank you

If your cake is travelling then yes I would recommend support. The molds are available at cake decorating supplies websites and amazon.

Not bad, you can also use air dry clay instead to make a chalice for altar.
