Nobody has mentioned the extraordinary basement Santa's grotto displays done by Bill Edgar, every year they were different, you had your ticked and admired the craftsmanship and then got your present from Santa in his little grotto at the end.

Who do I speak to about the photos in this clip? I'm working on a project about John Lennox (son) and he talks about his parent's store in our interview, but he has no photos. I'd love to include some if possible.

As a young girl in the sixties my friend and I used to go into Lennox's dept store on a Saturday and play house in the furniture store as we had a long wait for our bus. (In those days we had to go to school on a Saturday morning ) It was all so beautifully laid out as lining rooms in a house. We would pretend it was out house. Something beyond our wildest dreams as we came from very modest backgrounds. The store manager at that time was a real gentleman. He understood that we did no harm so he never chased or scolded us. Happy childhood memories !!!!
As a student I worked in the coffee shop washing dishes on a Saturday for 6 shillings a day.
I loved the store. Happy memories !!!
