    Thanks for the help with this! I actually had some issues the first time I used this while recording on my laptop during a trip and the audio was nearly unusable! The idea you suggested about using the red cable directly with a computer makes so much sense! :D Thanks again!

    Excellent demonstration. I understand my Rode system better now. I've just started using the lavalier mic.

    Thanks Ashley! Your videos have definitely been helpful! I bought the Wireless 2 a while back after seeing your videos. I saw a few different videos, but this was what sold me!

      Awesome! It's a great microphone and I'm still using my original Rode Wireless Go (not the II) after almost 3 years. I've replaced the cables once, but I'm really just trying to see how long it will last before going ka-put.

    Hi Ashley. I started using the RODE Wireless Go in the first lockdown in 2020, thanks to your recommendation and am still using it for 9 online classes a week. Early on, I tried it with a lavalier mic with the RODE box in my pocket and managed to break it within a week or two. I teach a type of yoga where we roll around on the floor a bit and do floor twists etc, and while rolling it snapped the lavalier jack plug off at the point it's inserted into the RODE box. I managed to find a lavalier with an L-shaped jack, but it was just too uncomfortable/awkward to have the RODE box in the pocket during asanas on the floor where we roll onto our hips. I wear loose clothing but had a couple of shirts where I could clip the RODE between buttons on my chest, but my main shirt has worn out, so now I just clip the RODE straight onto my bra cleavage under one or two layers of t-shirts/sweater. This can be a bit tricky for asanas with the chest on the floor, so I am mindful of keeping some space for the mic to pick up my voice when I'm doing bhujangasan (cobra) and similar poses. I'm also not 100% happy having the box right on top of my heart and between my breasts, as I don't know how much the wifi waves are affecting my cells. But I do now have a special stick-on copper device stuck on the RODE mic box (called a Bioprotector), that is supposed to protect me from any harmful electromagnetic waves.

      Thank you for this detailed comment of your experience. This is great insight to have. Microphones can definitely a little more challenging with movement or exercise classes, especially ones that are particularly movement heavy.

      It really does. It's actually how I prefer to use it. I was pleasantly surprised that my t-shirt created less rustling noise than I expected.

    Hi, Ashley, you did great DEMO, but I still have hard time to get connect RODE Lav mic to RODE wireless Mic, and also I bought RODE SC7 in order to get headphones connected while I talk (lav mic) outside so I can hear what I say But nothing recorded in my iPhone 14 pro. Here is what I connect: I use RODE SC7 adapt (Rode AI-Micro USB Audio Interface) Mic 1 to connect with RODE wireless receiver using Rode SC7 Coiled Patch Cable - Angled 3.5 Millimeters TRRS to Angled 3.5 Millimeters TRS, a headphone, so I got lost where should I connect Rode Lav Mic to Rode wireless go 2? I need help for this connections. Thank you if you can guide me thru!

    Hi Ashley :) Thanks for this video! Can you tell me how this would work background music? I would like to have good quality background music playing. How would I get that into my laptop as i am assuming the RODE blocks out the background noise?
    Do you use the same set up whether it is VOD or Zoom? I'd like to re-purpose my Zoom to a VOD library so I want to make sure the quality is good. Thanks :)

      @AshleyHagen  10 місяців тому

      The Rode or the lavalier doesn't block out the background noise, but Zoom will. You can change your settings to "original sound for musicians" on Zoom. That should help. But if you're on Zoom, just go ahead and use the share screen (advanced tab) option to share your computer audio at the same time. Trying to get your music and voice using the same microphone is not going to be great. Your music would need to be loud loud to sound a little bit okay. If you are recording, edit in the music afterwards.
      I just recorded my yoga sculpt with music on Zoom and repurposed it for my on demand library. It works great. The tricky part is finding the correct volume settings for both you and the music. I found what sounds good for my class and I don't touch it.
