A chilly December weekend with the PSAP: Trains on the Elma & Bangor Subdivisions [12/4-5/2021]

In the first weekend of December I was able to get out and find spare time to shoot some trains. Being tied up with a full time-job limits what you can do with your spare time, and I think I made the right choice; I eagerly began searching PSAP rails, driving around with your scanner running is about the best you can do trying to locate an active train on the railroad. I was successful in finding one on both days of the weekend; PSAP 501 in Centralia and PSAP 603 up by Bangor.
501 is a do-it-all switch job out of Centralia, doing whatever work needs to be done on the railroad, mostly within the confines of town. This time, they were building an interchange cut to bring over to the BNSF. For locomotive power, 501 had the PSAP 404, a GP40 of obvious Florida East Coast heritage, and the 1572 & 1573, both of the railroad's former CNW GP15-1s.
603 was Sunday's focus, cutting away their train at Bayshore to go make a single-car delivery to the US Navy at the end of the line. Train 603 is a daily turn job out of Shelton, which servies the rail line between Bangor and Shelton a few regularly scheduled days a week and as needed. One thing to note is the PNWR 1803 (GP9) in-consist, supposedly being used by the PSAP to supplement for a locomotive power shortage, although according to PSAP trainmen, she's all smoke and no pull!

I'd hate to burst your bubble, but I have evidence on the contrary 😊 future video of mine will include Elma dispatch talking to a 603 train giving them track warrants
