I just purchase the same scanner and it recommended and extension for the cord in the usually bought together tab, so I got it. Thanks for the reviews. In one other review of the same scanner, the mechanic tested to see if it would program keys and this scanner does program keys.
For what you pay for that basic scanner you can buy a tool and software that will do 10 times more such as remapping, tuning, coding on all your toys and also farm/construction equipment and anything else with an ECM
Have you lost the ability to program tire pressure sensor id numbers into your vehicle computer with your scan tool? The one I bought allowed me to program in the id codes for 2 of my new tire pressure sensors on a 06 dodge grand caravan, but I didn't do all 4 at one time. After I finally changed the other tires, the reader wouldn't connect to the van any longer so I updated the software on the scanner. Now, it will no longer allow me to do anything but see the id numbers. Even then, I have to fight through various menus to get to that point.
