You are the ONLY person that's admitted how hard it to squeeze the handle repeatedly. I have arthritis in my hands and have asked a lot of other reviewers about the squeeze and if I could do it, and all said it wouldn't be a problem. I even contacted the company asking about it when it first came out and got no response, which made me leery to purchase one. I really appreciate your honest review..Sandy

Your review is incredibly refreshing. I see people saying you did this or that wrong... this tool shouldn't have such intense instructions where one needs to research and learn all about it before attempting to use. You adapted and attempted to make it work and spoke your experience. Thanks so much!

I have arthritis in my hands, and the the thicker glues I love I can now use by hardly squeezing handle at all - gloss accents come out of the fine tip like a dream and Simon says stamp craft tacky glue is amazing in this thing. Even my husband tried it and was impressed when he went from trying to squeeze the fine tip bottles I used for both of those to this one. And I left my bearly art glue unstopped for 4 days and never clogged or stopped working.

I was wondering about this product. I have arthritis like pain in my joints from Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and using glue bottles are a pain, literally. She said she had strain from her thumb down to her wrist, is that something you experienced? I try to avoid using glue and intricate detailed things because of the issues I have, so if this does help elevate pain I'm all for putting aside the money. Since yours is the first comment I came across I thought I'd ask.

I have severe arthritis in my hands. I get absolutely no pain when using the glue press. Before the glue press, the pain in my thumbs would keep me awake at night, after making cards. I’ve seen other people with arthritis, also praise the glue press. I don’t understand the original posters comments at all.

TFS! You did a great rview. I would say for those who like this idea but cant afford it, Karen Burniston has shown how she uses her favorite fine line glue bottle in a recycled glass yogurt cup. She places wet/damp papertowels in the bottom of jar and while working on her project and places her fine liner glue bottle tip side down without top on and its ready to use everytime she picks it up. I've been doing this myself for a while now and totally impressed. I am always fasinated by the fact that it doesnt leak all out or doesnt clog up. I am sure this is a wonderful product but I don't know anyone who isn't watching their budget right now. I have a Misti that I've used for years. It is a QUALITY product and stamping game changer for sure. Whatever your budget is the most simple is usally the best.

I have been doing exactly the same thing for years. No mess, no fuss, no blocked nozzle. And if I'm not going to be using my glue for a while, as the paper towel does dry out, I store my bottle upright with a pin in the tip. Have never had a problem.

You're not supposed to put the cap on unless you remove the glue from the press. I haven't capped my glue in a year - it's amazing! Also put it in the stand every time - don't put it on its back on your desk - your glue will clog if it's not in the stand, just like any normal glue will. And you don't need to clean the silicone pad - a little glue plug will form - just pull it off.

@@susanpearson-creativefibro Oh great question - I probably have gone a week without using it - maybe not a month. But I think the glue plays a part in that - the thinner high flow glues that have a lot of water in them will dry out faster than thicker glues with less water

Somehow your experience was completely different from mine. I do have problems with my hands, and my glue press made an enormous difference for me. It was effortless to squeeze the trigger. Also, I don’t push hard when I replace the bottle into the stand so have not experienced any problems with the silicone disc. I suggest that you contact the company to share your issues. I’m another older crafter, with severe arthritis. Before the glue press, after using glue, I’d have such extreme pain in my thumbs, that it would keep me awake at night. I don’t know how anyone would feel strain, if they are using a water based glue, with the right nozzle. If they are trying to lay down a large amount of thick glue, with the fine tipped nozzle, they might have some problems.

I thought this was an excellent, fair review. You showed us 2 sessions, your learnings and left it open to future learnings as well. I've ordered this tool, and I plan to use it with my Bearly Art glue (although I also love the Nuvo glue, and with the pins built into the caps, I figure I can't lose!). I see another comment that says that for storage, you would leave it in the stand without the cap. I can see how that might be the intention, but I already feel nervous about it! lol! I will give it a try when I get it and see what I think. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I have owned this since it first was introduced, and I find it okay to use with bad arthritis. I only squeeze just hard enough to make a thin stream of glue continuously. I also use Lineco PVC glue. Best glue ever! When glue is on the little silicone pad, a cotton swab easily removes it. I also keep using a fine tip applicator that is used for applying masking fluid, but they don't seem to be as readily available now. They never clog on me. Here is why: after using it, I blow into the needle tip, which clears out the glue left in it. Then I dip the needle that inserts into the tip into a little petroleum jelly occasionally before inserting it into the needle tio, and I have used this same bottle for 15 years, which is fabulous for a fine tipped glue bottle! It also isn't round, so it is easier to squeeze than those silly little round fine tipped bottles you see everywhere.

It's Highly overpriced and doesn't have much functionality but I'm not surprised coming from Sweet Petunia. Thanks for the honest review. I have had mine since right after it came out, and I love it! I used to use Art Glitter Glue, and then went to Bearly Arts glue when my art glitter glue kept clogging up. And I broke my pin so many times trying to get it out. I spent more time cleaning tips on the Art Glitter Glue and even the Nuevo glue. After I first used this tool, I got out all my old bottles of Nuvo glue that wouldn’t even come out anymore even after cleaning in hot water, and they come out like a dream. So I’m finally able to use up those old glue bottles that have been hanging around. I don’t put the cap back on the bottles except to change out the glue (if I want to use another kind in the separate bottle), and I put it back in the stand after using it each time. No clogs and easy to squeeze. Just love it!

I have read many of the comments….some folks that have it are saying that “you are doing it wrong because its easy.” Or “watch this person’s review.” Each glue press can vary - so your’s might be easier to use than Stephanie’s, its just how things go. I agree with a lot of folks, its a lot of money for another item to put on my craft space. If you are an avid crafter - it might be worth the investment….but I’ll stick with my art glitter glue in a fine tip bottle with stainless steel pin!

Thanks for the great review - you addressed so many questions that hadn’t surfaced in many other videos I’ve seen. Let’s be realistic, watching reviews from a variety of sources is as close as the majority will get to an educated opinion before spending. I appreciate new and innovative products and that I have choices in where I purchase the products …as well as the variety of innovations that other companies come up with based on another company’s initial creation (for example, numerous companies are popping out “their version” of sticky mats, blending brushes and foams, anti static powder tools, reactive inks… I’m embarrassed to admit how many different stamp positioner tools and embossing machines I own…all slightly different at varying price points. I can’t dictate the prices charged but I can choose where I spend my money and unbiased reviews unfolding in front of my eyes such as yours are a breath of fresh air. Sadly toxic commentary and company bashing is like a debate on politics - nauseating. Companies aren’t selling products out of the goodness of their hearts, they’re making a living and a profit. If I don’t believe in a company’s integrity or they publicly bad mouth a customer on a popular social platform, I won’t ever buy their products, regardless of the retailer selling them - even at a deal. Keep sharing your experiences with new products - full transparency helps me select products that I can enjoy using to create handmade goodness!

I do WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree as to your assessment of that company, and think that the jury that decided that the truly innovative advancements of other companies’ stamping platforms were an infringement should have had their heads examined!! With less than $10.00 I managed to concoct a thoroughly accurate d.i.y. version of theirs, and - if not due to time constraints - could more than likely pulled it off much cheaper! Now, the Stamperatus on the other hand … THAT’s an INNOVATION!! And not just something easily thrown together in an hour! I don’t even do that much stamping, but I bought THAT jewel!! @@kkrolf2782wholeheartedly agree wirh you! I did buy a MISTI, but it was used and had a small crack so it wasn’t nearly as expensive as a new one.
I bought the TIm Holtz version because I was supporting him against the owner of MSP .
But when the Stamparagus came out! Wow! That is my “go to “ stamping platform ! I love it!
I am watching reviews for this glue press ( and I will watch several different reviews) because I am fed up wirh the nozzle for my Art Glitter glue getting clogged. One thing that o have grind helpful, wirh the Art Glitter glue nozzle clogging, is to have a smal, cup ( like water colorists use) with a littl water in it. And ocassionally I dip the pin in this water and push it in and of the nozzle a few times. The tiny bit of water on the pin, plus putting it in and lit a few times seems to keep the glue from clogging as easily. But still this takes time and effort and I REALLY wish there was a better way. I love the Art Gkitter Glue . I just hate that the nozzle clogs so dratted easily!
I’m not a fast crafter, I pause frequently , and having to put that pin back in the nozzle each and every time I pause drives me nuts!
I’ve even used the silicon cover from another glue bottle to cover the nozzle on my bottle of Art Glitter glue! That didn’t work well either, I had to put it back on when I paused in my crafting, just as with the pin.
I just hate the idea of giving any money to the owner of this company…. Maybe if I real,y want to buy it, I will see if I can find a used one to purchase.
And FYI, when it does stick and the head of the pin comes off, use a pair of pliers ( I have a pair of small needle nose pliers that lives in ,y craft room) and pull out the pin. If part of the nozzle comes with it , Soaking in a cup of hot water helps unstick them and you can reassemble the nozzle. The pin is a goner and you will need a new pin, so just buy the pack of pins that Art Glitter glue sells that has several in the pack.

I was leary until i watched a review by Jennifer McGuire where all questions/concerns were answered. i am so glad I invested in this tool. No more clogged tips and no longer necessary to pin/cap after each use. Love it!

I didn’t have time to go through all of the comments & I’m pretty sure someone might have already mentioned this, but my art glitter glue tip did the exact same thing to me, including the pin head popping off. I was so frustrated but I was determined that for the price for replacement tips and pins, I was going to at least attempt to repair the pin and get it unstuck from the tip.
I soaked the tip in warm water for a little bit then ran it under running warm water to help loosen everything up. I then used a pair of jewelry pliers and was able to get the pin out of the tip.
I was thankful that I saved my pin head and after I got it unstuck from the tip, I was able to glue the ball back on to the pin. If I’m not mistaken I used my art glitter glue to glue it back. 😊🤗🤷🏻‍♀️ it’s been there ever since.
Thank you for an honest review.
I was thinking while you were demoing it, what if I put a piece of silicone in a cup and devise some sort of brace to set over the cup that will keep the bottle of art glitter glue sitting inverted yet in a straight line.
It gives me food for thought until another company comes up with something better? 🤷🏻‍♀️
I don’t like to be petty, but I too remember the toxicity that has been associated with this company and on top of this I truly feel like they gouge the little guy with their prices. $45 is absurd for a glue tool. But I do appreciate you making the purchase & showing us what it does and doesn’t do. I do hope you get your moneys worth from it. 😎👍🏻

Thank you for your honest review of this product. One tip I have for art glitter glue fine tip is you can ace it in a small glass jar with a wet paper towel or sponge in the bottom as you are using it. Also, I bought extra pins at hobby lobby, just make sure it is stainless steel. Any other kind will turn the glue rusty. Also, if the pin gets stuck use pliers to remove it. It is easy. The pin head has come off on mine several times. Also Nuvo glue bottles are very hard to push on. I don't like them for that reason. I don't think this product is worth it for me. Thank you so much for your honesty.

I really think the real problem is Nuvo's bottles. The plastic is much too rigid for many of us. If I have to buy a $45 tool to squeeze a bottle then I think the problem is Nuvo. Like many, I like the glue but not the frustration.

I love the glue press, it has relieved the pain from my thumb and wrist. I suspect your not squeezing it right, just use your fingers not thumb. You don’t have to cap it between craft sessions, replace to base between glueing and it won’t t ooze. I’ve not had any leak on to the silicone so I haven’t had to clean it. I’d say you need to give it another go

Thanks for the review. To clean the bottom, wait for the glue glob to dry. You can just flick it off with tweasers then. At least, that’s how it works on my dollar store silicone mat. I love the art glitter glue too, but hate the cone metal tip. I bought bearly art glue, used up the glue and then transferred the cap to my art glitter glue bottle. Very happy. (This was before Nuvo came out with their precision pin tips. I do like Nuvo glue too.) I think I will try the silicone caps that Jennifer McGuire also showed in her glue press vid. The cone tip shape on the art glitter glue doesn’t work with it. Just buy the tip kit from Barely Art (at Simon Says Stamp) and the stopper cap and then replace your art glitter glue cap with it. 🙂

I use Bearly Art glue. I transfer it to cheap little (about 3" high and I think I got 6 for about $3) bottles with precision tips and a little silicone "hat" that fits over the metal tip. I haven't refilled that bottle in 3 months and it's so easy to use I've never considered it a "problem" that needed a "solution".

Someone mentioned the footprint of it, i.e. how much space it would be taking up on our desks. But for a moment think about the other footprint, the ecological footprint. That’s a whole lot of plastic for $45 & it sounds as if some people are not happy with it. Toss it in the trash & forget about it?? I decant art glitter glue into a 1oz bottle I bought on Amazon which has a very fine tip, that gives me a very little line of glue, so I’m not using nearly the amount of glue that I used to go through. I have severe arthritis in my fingers, thumb, thumb joint & wrist & for the most part have moderate chronic pain. I’m very happy with my little bottle of glue, (which does not cause me any pain) so I’m going to pass on this fairly expensive hunk of plastic. I may be biased, but I think the entire line of Misti products is overpriced. Thank you, Stephanie, for your 2-day review, it answered some of my questions. Erica❤

I agree with all your comments. I received mine about a week ago. I used it and it was ok. I went away for my granddaughters wedding and didn’t craft for the whole week. While watching your video I picked up to try and the glue would not come out. Fortunately I had a pin so I unplugged it. It was easy but I bought it so I didn’t have to contend with pins. I don’t like that you can’t put it back in the holder with the lid on. I use Nuvo glue so that it comes with Nuvo was a plus for me. I never have a problem with the glue clogging with the Nuvo. I can control the amount of glue dispensed but would like to have the smaller tip for small cut outs. That’s why I bought it. I worried the trigger method would be difficult for me with a arthritic right hand but is not a problem for me. It’s kind of fun to use but certainly not an necessary item.

I work foe a craft store and they told me the Nuvo glue doesn't do well in colder weather.
Well as it turns out they were right. I live in Michigan and we have very cold winters and in mt craft room I have a window just above my counter. I love it because it lets in a lot of light but it also misses with Nuvo glue. So I put it away til spring. Still didn't work until I realized the nozzles were very clogged with glue that was in there all winter. It took me a long time to soak them and I kept reaming them out with a pin.

Great review, I’ve been thinking about it for a while and living in New Zealand it’s more like $75 for me with postage. I have chronic pain issues in the exact area where it bothered you so it’s a hard no for me now.

I’m wondering if you used the NEW Nuvo drops bottle … or a Full one you already owned? To further my train of thought … I wonder if the difficulty you’re experiencing squeezing the trigger m a y have anything to do with the possibility that the empty bottle that came with the product migh not actually be more malleable than the regular off-the-shelf containers??

It was the brand new bottle that came with it. Maybe it was hard to press because it was so full? Not sure. Thanks for your idea!

@@InaNutshellCrafts Thanks for your thorough and honest review. I learned a tip from @Lolly Palooza noting that the 2 oz. Nuvo glue bottles are easier to squeeze from the back of the bottle so she placed the bottle into the Glue Press with the Nuvo label facing up, so this should make it easier to squeeze the trigger.

Thank you so much for:your honest review. I was considering it, but thought the cost was a bit much. If it worked as indicated it might have been worth it. I’ll pass for now. Just a side note to you. I use the Art Glitter Glue too and my pin has glued itself a couple times too. I just borrowed my husband’s pliers and with a little effort got the pin out. Good luck. And thanks again

I just use a pretty antique tea cup. While I’m crafting, I just place the unpinned glue bottle where the tip is in the bottom of the cup. I can work all day with it just placed in there this way. It doesn’t clog at all while I’m crafting. In fact, I forgot to place the pin back in over night and it was still ready to use the next day. It might leave a very small dot of glue in the bottom of the cup and I just take a baby wipe and wipe it out after each use. Works great! And the pretty flowered teacup is pretty on my desk.

I’ve just had this glue stand today and I’ve got arthritis in my hands and it’s perfect I didn’t have to squeeze hard at all ! As for sticking acetate the vest for that is sticky tape or tape runner not liquid glue . You don’t need to use that much glue to stick anything down I’ve used Nuvo glue for over a 2 years now and it’s my go to quick grab glue . This is my option and my findings with this price of kit .

Very informative. I find the larger/taller the glue bottle the harder to squeeze especially when the bottle is half full. I use the rust proof quilling pins in my bottles so the pin doesn't rust. Also when I am done using my glue for the day I will gently blow into the tip of the bottle to move what glue may still be in the tip down further so my tip doesn't get clogged & my pin doesn't get stuck. I will take away from these comments placing a wet cloth or paper towel in the bottom of a cup so I don't havevto keep inserting the pin back into the glue bottle evertime I use it. I also think I will order just the refill bottles as I lije the smaller bottles with the pin that is inside the cap.

When you are a tad away from the end of glueing, be sure to totally release the pressure handle, and that will solve your problem 👍. Took me a bit to figure that out, but no more mess on the silicone piece.

I’d use the larger nib on the Nuvo glue and the finer tip in the art glitter glue.

Yes, that’s what I ended up doing because the nuvo is thicker and comes out slower, so that helped!

A great review, really honest. After seeing it, I certainly wouldn't buy this - it is vastly over-priced and not that user-friendly, and just more clutter on the desk! I use Collal glue which is fabulous, and I bought a couple of the fine-liner glue bottles, which have the pin in the cap. I don't bother to cap it between uses unless I'm leaving it for any length of time and I don't find it dries out. It's taken me a long time to find the solution to my ongoing glue problems and this is it, and it certainly doesn't need refining with the use of a tool just to squeeze the bottle! Thank you for your excellent review of a product that's definitely a bust in my opinion!

Great review! Thank you. The first time I saw this tool, I thought it was a bit cumbersome. Also, the price. Too much money for this piece of plastic. I'll likely stick to my small, precision glue bottle. It never clogs.

Maybe a q-tip May be easier to clean the glue off. Thanks for your review, I was going to order it but it was sold out and I have carpal tunnel. You just saved me some coins.

Thank you for this demo. Suggestion - put a piece of washi tape on the bottom of the bottle you filled with Art Glitter glue as well as on the side. That will allow you to immediately know which glue you have in the precision glue press.

My pin got stuck in the bottle piece. I was able to get it out by letting the tip sit overnight in warm water. The next day I was able to get the pin out with a pair of plyers.
