Before i started racing sim, my uncle and dad did and he built a steering wheel stand for the playstations 1 and 2. He used an old persons walker for the first build. He then used pvc pipe for the other one. These were old madcatz wheels no force feed back. He made it work though and i use to watch him and my uncle race nascar and granturisom 3 and 4 and a few other racers at the time. Great job Louise!!!
Big hug from Portugal. Fantastic job there. LOVE IT!!!! Just goes to show you, you don't have to spend several hundreds of Pounds to build your own Sim cockpit. A couple of hours of good old elbow grease and some change can get the job done. And you appreciate it more because YOU built it !!!!
i wish i could copy that my rig is so expensive would love to know your cut dimesions cause a rig is so expensive to buy this is much better inexpensive way for me to start my sim magic and my moza pedals but i cant afford a rig thats worthy enough but i know there alot pallets where i live.
@@spyplane3979 I kinda did the same, used wood with a steel plate for the wheelbase. It's very solid, it can be a challenge to get the positioning right, also some basic woodworking skills and tools are needed. And use bolts and nuts, no screws.
My wife always had an approach in life, that when she came acros a cast off like your pallets, she would say we could make something out of that. You have done a wonderful job on your project and nice that you have friends that send you boxes full of goodies. You are probably one of the few people on UA-cam using a hand saw, with great skills and strength. Your project turned out very well by the by, but then you know that as well.
I have been thinking about building a rig for years, but could not get myself to do it, so I must say huge respect for you, you are one of the most creativ people on youtube! :D
brilliant. never thought of doing this. wanting a cockpit for years but never committed because i don't play a whole lot of racing games. best if you do this with heavy duty transportation pallets.
That is a really well thought out package from Turtle Beach. The button box is a nice touch and the combo H/Seq shifter/handbrake is a good idea. Please consider doing some live streams sometime, we all know you're fast and personable. It would make for a great stream. Maybe iRacing Rallycross "Road to 900 iRating" series. 😄
You know what you could do now? Buy a set of PC fans and hook them up in the back rest / bottom and be the first one to have a ventilated seat Sim Rig 🤩
Amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it. I used Plywood, and wood as its easy to work with and no worries about drilling holes through it to fix your racing wheel etc, i used a used Mini Countryman SD seat as it made it adjustable in every direction. good way to recycle and reuse wooden pallets on a budget build.
Me and my stepdad build one years ago. We used recycled wood. Also bought a car seat including the railing from a junkyard. This way multiple people could use the setup.
My Thrustmaster T300 + Wheel Stand Pro V2 + IKEA Poäng + GT7 are very happy with this 💟 Already got slap-on subscribtion lenses at an VR Optician so I don't have to wear glasses or contacts. Amazing times we live in!
I built my rig 4/5 years ago with wood but i choose to buy a seat because i think it's the only part i can't properly make and can prevent injuries. It's a nice video.
Balance it on a half-inflated basketball, the four corners with four elastic bands that return it to a balanced position when tilted, then hook the steering wheel with, gas and brake three bicycle chains (2short, 1 long) that will tilt the platform: wheel tilts L and R, gas tilts backwards, brake tilts forward. It will be very immersive. Also, these chains must affect “semi slippery” wheels that will allow return to balanced central position. Cheers
This video was amazing. You're amazing! Wish I had the tool's to do this or you were my neighbor, lol. I bought a Racing wheel and PSVR2 and both are just sitting in the boxes they came in and never opened. The mounting stand is taking forever to arrive here. But Saturday feels like so far away. Grrrrrr 3 more days. 3 more long days. You notice time goes by way too fast unless your waiting on something, lol.
Really only thing that I'd be worried with that is the back rest. Would probably extend those base poles further back and put some extra support higher.
Did similar 4 years ago for a triple screen setup with wrap around desktop still holding strong ill suggest heavily reinforcing the desktop from any movement as it would be terrible for emersion unless its rock solid. Took me a few attempts to get that dialed in Paint it all black looks awesome.
Great job! I got lucky when i made my rig. My work was getting rid of 80/20 and they let me keep it. The only thing i payed for is a junkyard seat to make the frame and some hardware. I think the fun oart for me is making things myself like a button box/hand brake combo. Also im really cheap lol.
Highly doubt it’s actually 7.2 nm like turtle beach clams anyways they make low end junk! And the button box doesn’t even work standalone it has to be plugged into this garbage base even the the port on the back of the button box is usb-c
That's genius. And very commendable you built it yourself. Only thing is it's a pity the base or chair distance wasn't adjustable. Your arms seem a bit too close to the wheel.
omg you're so cool🙃i love the rig but is till scared watching you sim driving🤣really a inspiration i remember i startet with WRC 23 because of you sim video now is wrc 24 and i have a oplite rig epic lol thanks you mrs cookie🙏
Please make more content! You have unusually calming voice. Almost like asmr 😊. And now this video..I was thinkin building driving chair, but didn't know how to start. Thank you! Pls.marry me!! 😂 Here in Finland we all learn to drive rally before we learn to walk.
you did a great job! I hope you enjoy sim racing, then there will soon be a real sim rig. Everyone started like that somewhere. Have fun in 2025. Greetings from Switzerland
I already have the wheel, just pre-ordered the Multi-Shifter. It's not the best wheel out there and software support is still lacking (i.e. a lot of keys and switches cannot cannot re-binded on PC, no RMS support for Xbox), but it's still a decent wheel for a mid price range setup.
Before i started racing sim, my uncle and dad did and he built a steering wheel stand for the playstations 1 and 2. He used an old persons walker for the first build.

The best part is watching you enjoying the process of building the rig. That's one true smile on your face :)
There's rally driver brave, and then there is wiring your telly up outdoors with British weather brave. Great build!
What happen too the second video of your turbo rebuild in the wrx rally car the brought?Luv from Australia 🇦🇺
The music choice in this is top notch! I love that built in screen on the turtle beach.

Wrapping your car around a tree and walking away with actual splinters in your hand is a level of immersion sim racers didn't know they needed.

Bravo!
I've done similar in the past. But, eventually the forces from the steering feedback ripped it to shreds!
Nice one! I did a similar thing with some leftover wall studs and a seat from an older Honda. Having the real car seat on there is excellent.
but why this girl is chubby?
WHY DO YOU LEAVE US FOR SO LONGGGG. DANG COOKIE!!! 🍪
I’m sawwy 🪚🥺

Wow! Great job! Love seeing these DIY sim racing rigs, 100% fun for a fraction of the costs.

@40Acres_and_A_Mule thought about that, but pvc can be expensive, whilst pallets are free.
That is so cool rig you build❤. I did few rigs from scrap wood also. My current one is only half wood. Love people who make stuff work.
Brilliant build, love the have a go attitude. Good to see you back too.

Awesome budget build! Even more awesome driving! 🏎️
at last a proper review of velocity race with someone who can actually drive😂 picked the right person to review it great job on the pallet build
Very talented ! Greetings from France.

Ramming pallets @ 0:13 was a nice touch, kudos 👏 💐

anyone else kinda gets hypnotized watching her drive? it looks so fun
Awesome work Louise 👍🏻
She's back! Yay! 🤗
awesome rig! i love that you used budget gear. a good driver will be fast regardless the gear.
Nothing beats building your own rig. I built my own ”John Player Special” rig, complete with authentic 1972 decals, for a $150.
Interesting idea. Good to see your smiling face again 😊 Hope you are doing well. Are you lighting up a Christmas car again this year?
Great job, looks awesome.
