SHINDAIWA 600sx chainsaw vs Gum trees

  • In this instalment we let the Shindaiwa 600sx chainsaw loose on a medium sized ghost gum blown down in a recent storm.
I fitted the original 20" bar to the chanisaw for bucking up this tree into firewood rounds, as I find it more manoeuvrable when working on step slopes. I know, I know... It doesn't look steep.
Then the Narava gets loaded up and the processing commences with the faithful 30ton hydraulic log slitter with its Honda clone 6.5hp engine
The split firewood will stay in a pile for a week or too, just so some of the sap dries, then we will stack all the split firewood in the firewood racks. This will be in a future video.
This is the log splitter cover I use - amzn.to/373bVat
Leather hard wearing work gloves - amzn.to/2Ivcobh
Great price on 2 stroke oil - amzn.to/2SVdrmG
If you want to grab yourself a 25ton auto return hydraulic log splitter,
    This is a great deal - amzn.to/33WEbtx
I only use Peltor ear muffs, and genuine Shindaiwa chain - Industry standard and afffordable!
Get a pair of ear muffs here - amzn.to/3iYBCLy
    Get 20" Shindaiwa chains here - amzn.to/33YAGmp
    Get yourself a Shidaiwa 600sx for a great price!! - amzn.to/2Fq5brI
    Thanks!

Yep, same saw. I believe Shindaiwa make the Timber Wolf saws for Echo. Echo owns Shindaiwa now. Thanks for watching Leo

I am interested in the quality of the Japanese Shindaiwa saws. I have never used one however people who have them speak very highly of them.
How and why did you get a Shindaiwa ? I'd like to know, thanks.

I live in Australia too, this type of gum tree is quite easy to cut when green. it gets very tight when dry, so best to buck and split it as soon as you are able. burns well and leaves very little ash after.

Thanks Al. its much nicer to stack when its nice and straight grained. This lot fell over right before the sap started running for spring, so should season fairly quick too! Take care over there!

Agree Bruce, gotta process it when its green. It seems to burn faster than Yellow Box, Red Gum etc, but doesn't leave too much ash.

a good chainsaw, not the best, but good but a bad operator in terms of productivity
    a slowness

Let me guess you are the best chainsaw operator on the planet. More than likely you are just a keyboard worrier and do not eve own a chainsaw.
