Linus, please don't cave in and accept ad rev from CBPC. I used them to build a rig. Within the first month, the two USB ports on the front of their custom CBPC branded case broke. They gave me an underperforming 6700K and 1080, performing worse than 60% of similar units when benchmarked. I paid extra for good cable management, and they stuffed the extra cables into unused drive cages. They use the *lowest possible quality* PSUs on the market. My friend also got a PC from them and they glued the damn SSD to an HDD cage. Not to mention that they spelled "Assembling" incorrectly, they spelt in "Asempling." Horrible customer support (that I don't use.) I ordered that rig in August of 2016. I now have superior knowledge of computers, and have assembled many PCs, and its time for my crapshack rig to go to make way for an actual good computer thats cheaper. Consider this a warning to anyone considering them.

I really think that this review makes it clear, how over hyped these tech reviewers makes the new phones coming out, what do you expect? that every year a completely new phone is made from OnePlus? the production needs to be perfected and followed through out the generation, and the proposal of being cheaper and at the same time really good offering a pure Android is delivered. I really think that they gave the exact same think as is supposed to, but we as consumers and and tech lovers we build expectations that is impossible, from a business stand point. I still really impressed with how much of a phone is for that price.
I feel like that's why to whole smartphone market has become so ridiculously expensive - people need to see the technology for what it is. DDR4 is expensive as fuck at the moment because its supply is so low. Every new CPU and Phone is using DDR4 which is greatly limiting its supply thus driving the prices up.

They are (along with Oppo and Vivo) part of BBK Electronics which this year alone in Q1 sold nearly 57 million phones...that's more than Apple and Huawei...second only to Samsung. The excuse that Oneplus is a small brand is not factual. This phone is a letdown and a success at the same time. I wish they didn't use the exact same shell that the Oppo R11 uses...but they do what they have to do to cut costs...The software is top notch and the specs are there as well. Its just a shame they didn't attempt to innovate, Oppo, Vivo, and Oneplus are content to release bland phones while everyone else is trying to catch the next curve. That is exactly why Sony, HTC, Motorola fell from their spots. Innovate or get out of the race.
I bought a dbrand skin when I got my OnePlus 3. Both ripped just by putting them on the phone. They sent some replacements after I complained but one of those ripped and the one I did manage to apply successfully started to peel after a week. Awful products.

Just ordered my OnePlus 5. For those that are saying since the price continues to grow you may as well buy the bigger and better? well... not in Australia... the OnePlus5 64GB cost me AU$630 (128GB - AU$720) Galaxy S8+ is AU$1349, 64GB, LGG6 is AU$1149, 64GB and the iPhone is AU$1419, 128GB. so yee I'm definitely on the winning end here regardless as to what OnePlus has put on the table... it has gotten right what it wants to get right. The things that it has left out like the better screen and dust/water resistant. but they aren't deal breakers for me, I've always kept my phone's far far away from water and as much as I can from dust no matter what. if I can read, watch and do whatever else on my phone then the 1080p screen is more than enough. people nowadays are just expecting too much unfortunately and I can't wait for the OnePlus to arrive in my mailbox :)

No it's not a flagship killer. It's just a standard flagship. The price isn't that low anymore so it has lost that title. It's just a tiny bit lower (if even that) than many other non samsung competitors. (samsung doesn't count because they overprice everything so they don't have normal pricing to begin with)

1. Wtf are you storing on your phone for so long that takes up 128GB?! Have a bunch of photos? - transfer them over to a harddrive. You don't need them with you constantly. You can't have that many apps on the phone that you're using regularly. Music? Get spotify lmao. 2. Small battery? I can guarantee you it'll be one of the best - if not the best - battery you've ever had. Dash charging will give you 50% in 30 minutes. Chucking it on charge for 5 minutes before running out the door will easily give you 10+ percent which lasts ages on these phones because of the minimal bloatware they come with. 3. Wireless charging. If that's a dealbreaker, you need to get your priorities straight. 4. Looks like an iPhone, Jesus. You're literally looking for any excuse not to buy it now. Who cares if it looks like an iPhone?! If you don't like the look of the phone, just say you don't like the look of it. Don't say you don't like it because it looks like something else.
No because I bought their Oneplus 3T late last year. By far the best phone I've ever had and easily beat any Samsung phone I've had previously. I can guarantee you that this phone would be a better version of the 3T.

I bought a dbrand skin when I got my OnePlus 3. Both ripped just by putting them on the phone. They sent some replacements after I complained but one of those ripped and the one I did manage to apply successfully started to peel after a week. Awful products.

Just ordered my OnePlus 5. For those that are saying since the price continues to grow you may as well buy the bigger and better? well... not in Australia... the OnePlus5 64GB cost me AU$630 (128GB - AU$720) Galaxy S8+ is AU$1349, 64GB, LGG6 is AU$1149, 64GB and the iPhone is AU$1419, 128GB. so yee I'm definitely on the winning end here regardless as to what OnePlus has put on the table... it has gotten right what it wants to get right. The things that it has left out like the better screen and dust/water resistant. but they aren't deal breakers for me, I've always kept my phone's far far away from water and as much as I can from dust no matter what. if I can read, watch and do whatever else on my phone then the 1080p screen is more than enough. people nowadays are just expecting too much unfortunately and I can't wait for the OnePlus to arrive in my mailbox :)

But is the Galaxy in it's league of it's own (alongside apple) I mean you look at the OnePlus spec sheet and the Galaxy Spec sheet and they're not hugely different and that's what I'm trying to get at...you're spending $600 more for a better screen that is barely noticeably better mind you and water/dust resistant? Camera may be that little bit better but that can be fixed over time (looking at you iPhone) and I bought from OnePlus directly simply because I have trust issues when it comes to electronics and something like the OnePlus should be bought from where it comes from. Prices from the manufacturer directly isn't exactly misleading because it says to you that that company wants it to be that price because they believe it's worth that much... other websites have their own say and put it this way... the prices i mentioned are the ones that were given to public upon release... just like the price that is given to us upon OnePlus release.

2. Small battery? I can guarantee you it'll be one of the best - if not the best - battery you've ever had. Dash charging will give you 50% in 30 minutes. Chucking it on charge for 5 minutes before running out the door will easily give you 10+ percent which lasts ages on these phones because of the minimal bloatware they come with.
3. Wireless charging.
If that's a dealbreaker, you need to get your priorities straight.

No because I bought their Oneplus 3T late last year. By far the best phone I've ever had and easily beat any Samsung phone I've had previously. I can guarantee you that this phone would be a better version of the 3T.
