I buy most of my vinyl for the front of the keyfobs from mypunkbroidery.com and the back chalkboard vinyl is in Utility section at Joann. The chalkboard vinyl at Walmart is NOT the same and too thin.
On my Janome 500e, I have to switch to a 90/14 during the final construction with vinyl or I often get broken needles. On my multi-needle, the 75/11 is fine.
I use rivet dies and professional pliers from Kamsnaps. They are an investment. If you only have a few to do you can use the hand tools that you can buy in rivet sets at most big box stores. But if you will be selling these, invest in the dies. You can usually use the larger die for the smaller rivets too.

snaptab like this work fine with the 75/11 needles. I do prefer the embroidery style as it’s got a better opening for the high speed and doesn’t shred thread.

I can’t seem to find the pdf for the FOB name tag to go on the pencil case? It is rectangle. I made this in a class but cant find pattern to repeat it.
I usually add basting stitch to the design . It helps with placement

I’ve been making these for a while now and the regular ballpoint 75/11 needle has no problem stitching through several layers of the marine vinyl.
