God has blessed me tremendously today. This is the second video I’ve watched that had me howling in laughter! 😂😂😂 As a past frequent flyer, I connected deeply with how people look at men traveling with children. Your insights and tips should be memorialized in a children’s book series, for kids and adults, along with your other parenting insights. I knew this would happen a few months ago but my comment was deleted. It's not easy being in Kenya with the current economy.Going back and forth for vacation is the only option. Until the systems work in Kenya is when one can settle permanently in Kenya .
I can relate to those experiences. The first trip to Kenya from the us was quite challenging for my 4-year old. She could not get comfortable during the overnight flights and she cried for a good chunk of it. Sleeping upright was quite different than sleeping on a bed surface. I wish I knew that before actual travel. Actually, I don't know what I would have done if I knew she was going to be uncomfortable. Thanks for sharing.
First two minutes in…ROTFL…describes a true introvert's thoughts…not yet exhausted but you know it's inevitable😂 ... besides, those supervisors expect your full and undivided attention lol. Will temporarily miss the village content, but then again, variety is the spice of life. Safe travels.
What we do with our toddler is when we book our flights to Kenya we book economy then later we upgrade to business class we use Emirates and it’s so smooth we actually enjoy the flights. And traveling back and forth gives us more miles.
I have travelled with my 2 boys from Canada several times. When they were younger it was a pleasure to arrive at Kisumu airport and discovered that the washrooms were well set up. I have seen those looks. 😅
Yeah, time to return ugh. It's sure hard flying with kids that young. I bring lots of activities for them to do on the plane but haven't done 20+ plus hrs flight yet so God bless you. I was looking for what you were doing about kids schooling. Many of us with the issue of finding great schools in the villages should consider that an opportunity to start schools. United and concur
There was a taxi driver who picked me and my kids at the airport. We landed at 11pm and we were bubbly and talking all the way home. I took his number and rode with him for our trip back to the airport after the holiday. He noted how quiet we were on the way back to the airport leaving Kenya. We dread that trip as well.
It gets so unsettling, wondering about the seating arrangement for the rest of the journey. I understand that snobs are everywhere, but It's such a long journey that would expect a friendly experience.

Wuod Karateng',I'm watching this from Nanning,China. I've just booked my ticket to JKIA for December 2024. I hope we can share a tete-a-tete in Karateng' if you get home for Christmas. Meanwhile, a belated 'Bon Voyage!' I've previously done the JKIA-Baiyun(Guangzhou) 14hr flight with my two daughters. Worst bit was my older daughter's air-sickness. Carpe Diem!
We will miss your contents from Karateng... I hope you reached home safe and sound. The flight was too long specially traveling with Kids. Im a father and used to travel with my kids along east Africa... These moments are very memorable to kids and learn alot. It will give them sense of taking responsibility in younger age... We had a baby and when he was at 40 days we had to travel. My daughter was 4 years and was assisting me... Moreover, as a parent you learn planning and arranging things ahead... We will be travelling to Kampala on December and im now arranging our travel.... allow me to tell some tips i mostly do when travelling with kids. Make sure you have sickness bags in case of vomiting, Dont give kids any unusual food/snacks, it will irritate the stomach and make them sick . Just give the usual food... i dont prefer snacks from shops, we do dry food of our local Somali food and take them with us, we just buy water, milk only at the airports and it will save you cost. Take extra clothes both for you and kids... More diapers and napkins, travel pillows for kids. With medical advice from doctor, try to use one dose of fever syrups for your kids as a prevention while at home right before leaving. But CONSULT with a doctor. This will mean necessary to your kids when weather conditions are different with travel destinations.. Like US and Kenya but CONSULT with a doctor. Make sure to label you luggages with stickers, since there are many, airport staff may got confuse and may label your luggage with another passenger... At the checking counter, make sure all luggages are labeled right before boarding them. Try to know the luggage weight restrictions ahead with your selected airline... some airlines have weight restrictions and you get surprised when you arrive at the counter ending up opening bags and balancing weight specially for the weight allowed for kids.
Single mom here.......I travel with my daughter.....Yes. I don't enjoy flying, something I use to.....Massachusetts to Bay area(LA) or WA is 6hours very long for me.......:)

Just depends on pilot and maintenance. Big planes have lots of problems too. It's just that manufacturers are very responsive and quietly correct design/build flaws. Also our airliners are not serviced in Kenya. Small planes are and there've definitely been instances that I remember where money for parts was being pocketed by corrupt staff.
@kip4life Kenyan airlines whether local or international are safer than most bigger western airlines. Just check Mentor pilots channel on UA-cam and see about air crashes. Boeing is leading in plane crashes around the world. The size of a plane or propeller or the jet engines is not the determining factor for a plane to crash. Pilot error and computer malfunction are the major causes. Just go to mentor pilots channel or any Air crash channels and get educated.
@@daniells71 Another bigger issue with big planes especially the new ones is the system it’s very faulty. Like what is happening with Boeing a very big issue.
This has reminded me how l once flew with my 4 year old boy from Boston-Nbi. I had (6) suit cases and each one of us had two hand luggage n it was winter;; so my boy had a heavy jacket and boots n his two little hand luggage .. At the check in , the lady at the counter asked me, “where is your husband to help you .” Well l smiled and nodded and pointed to my son, who by then was so much used to flying out and was so used to the routine,.. 😂by then he was already holing his passport ready to be checked in. I’m a single mom n l do enjoy. Sometimes you have to appreciate what life throws to you.

He and his family living in Kenya is what many of us dream about going on for ourselves. Who wants to come to the United States. Just to work and not have time for family and friends.
