Very important question. You see food is important not just as source of nourishment but also as a divine metaphor (Christ's body is transformed into bread according to Christian belief). Banquet represents togetherness, a re-enactment of Christ's last supper. Again, when we see later, the witches brewing up a potion, they use ingredients that are not edible or palatable. Their potion represents "non-food" and hence evil. Macbeth leaves a wholesome banquet to experience the evil potion. That is his choice and reason of fall. Food imagery is a potent one in Macbeth. Deprivation of basic modes of satisfaction, such as feeding, sleeping, all point at Macbeth's eventual doom.
Well, Banquo's son become a king, but of a different country. The witches never said that he will be King of Scotland . They simply said that Banquo will be father to a line of kings
