Thinking about doing this but maybe twice the length of yours. Most likely will need three of those hinged brackets. How sturdy is it? Can you and another lean on it while sitting?

Hi. The brackets are sturdy butt not meant for benches, for sitting. I think you need to find a Heavy Duty Folding Bracket. Some are specialy made for this purpouse (sitting). I made a coffee table in this video.

What screws did you use to fix it to the timber screening?

Hi, the screws were standard wood screws 4.5x25mm.
