I watched Jaws for the first time when I was 8. It was at home on our old wooden box/ record player TV with a massive 21” screen. Fast forward to 2016 and I’m showing the film to my son and daughter and watching them go thru the exact same emotions I had watching it for the first time. It’s one of my favourite movie watching experiences ever. I’ll never forget how fast their hands covered their faces when the head came out thru the hole in the boat.

Hi Robert. It's still my favorite film after all these years. To me, it has most (if not all) of what I love about so many film. Great characters, good story, amazing music, humor, action, adventure, suspense and so much more. I often still jump when the head comes out thru the hole in the boat even though I've seen it so many times. Thanks for commenting.

I was 7 that Summer, 1975, and Jaws was a game changer. The music which accompanied the presence of the shark was everywhere.

I saw Jaws in the theater with my grandparents the summer before 6th grade. I've watched it every year since, and like you, many times more than once. It reminds me of childhood summers with my grandparents at their beach house. Then around college, I started to go with friends to Cape Cod, which feels like you're right on the set.
I'm with you- I could watch this any time, any where and from any point in the movie. It never gets old and it's always a blast. I did have a bucket list moment a few summers ago when a local radio station hosted a movie night on the beach where they showed, Jaws. It was awesome hearing the ocean in the background while the movie was playing. Great video, as always and great topic even for future videos. Hope all is well. 😎👋👋

I saw Jaws in 1975 with my Mother. Everyone went to see Jaws that summer. My favorite film is Titanic (1997). I saw Titanic 40+ times in the theater mostly during its original run in 1997/1998. I also saw Titanic at a film festival many years later and the 3D version 3 times in the theater in 2012. I purchased 2 versions of Titanic on VHS both the widescreen and full screen. I picked up one VHS copy at the local video store. Video stores opened at Midnight when Titanic went on sale and I was one of the people in line at midnight to purchase a copy. I remember holding the film to my heart when I got home as I now owned a copy of my favorite film I have owned Titanic on DVD and the Special edition DVD as well as the multi bluray 3D version. I also watched Titanic during its run on HBO as well as when it would be shown on Network television.

I feel the same way about Jurassic Park. My family and I went to the theater, to see JP, which was also a rare occasion, and the film made a lasting impression on me. Ever since then, I've been a cinephile. So much so, I minored in film at university, knowing it would never financially benefit me, but I just wanted to learn more about its history and other influential films from the past. Those courses introduced me to Kubrick, Hitchcock and other great directors such as John Ford and Orson Welles.

Hi Lauren. Oh yes, Jurassic Park is amazing!! It's nice to look back and connect my love of film to my family and my earliest experiences at the movie theater. Thanks for commenting.

JAWS is a masterpiece. I’ve seen it in theaters 3 times in the last few years, just due to living in LA. It’s absolutely my favorite horror film.

Yes, I agree. I did see it once in theater too when it was brought back in the 2010s. Amazing to see it in the theater again after my original experience in 1975.

@@CinemaDaveMedia It’s incredible on any screen, but in theaters it’s transcendental! I’ve introduced it to my kids and it’s their favorite, too!

Jaws is not my favorite film, but it's a great one and over the last several years I've made a habit of watching it every 4th of July (in addition to the many times before that tradition). I'm sure I've seen it more than 15 times.
I'm 42 and haven't counted, but I guess there's a handful of movies I've watched around 30 times or more like the original Star Wars trilogy, the 1951 Christmas Carol (a family tradition for Christmas Eve), Miracle on 34th Street, Highlander, and Plan 9 from Outer Space.

Jaws is absolute perfection. I watched it whenever it was on TV and memorized every single line 😁😁😁
Today, I study sharks and their lesser-known cousins all because of Jaws
Jaws is the best movie ever 💟💟

It's funny how you mention Alfred Hitchcock. Spielberg actually paid homage to The Birds in a few scenes when he made this film.

I also saw "Jaws" at least a couple of times when it was first out and like a lot of high money making movies it was released again a couple of years later and I'm sure I saw it a couple of times then as well. Even though there are so many things to love about this movie one of the things I love is watching the back ground actors. There is always great stuff to see even if the main actors are not in the scene. One scene I love is when the woman who son is killed by the shark slaps Brody and then proceeds to tear him a new one. I don't know that actresses name is but she hit that out of the park. Sorry for the spoilers. 🦈

I'm pretty new to your cannel and just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy hearing your thoughts on movies and collecting. What does it say about me that my most watched movies are The Big Lebowski, Casablanca, The Wizard of Oz, and Roadhouse?

    • @GA-1st

I've never gone out of my way to see "Roadhouse." BUT, whenever it's on a cable channel, I usually stop what I'm doing and watch it! It's a classic "guilty pleasure," that delivers on what it promises. What more can one ask for from a movie?

I'd hazard to guess that for most film buffs over 40, "Jaws" is one of their favorites, if not THE favorite. I can't say it's my personal number one, but it's certainly up there. Don't get me wrong - I've seen it dozens of times, and love the movie without reservation. After all these years, I still consider it Spielberg's best movie. But, I have difficulty ranking my favorite films one over another. I love them all equally, often each for very different reasons. And, quite frankly, my number one favorite has changed over the years, depending on the period of my life. That all being said, I can never get too much about "Jaws." Nice video!

    • @CinemaDaveMedia
      @CinemaDaveMedia  2 роки тому +1

Hello. Yes, I completely agree it's Spielberg's best. He overcame the most challenges making the movie it seems and delivered a masterpiece. My favorite films have changed a bit over the years as I have but Jaws remains in my top 5 for sure.

It's similar to Coppola's experience making The Godfather." Out of extreme pressures sometimes you'll get a diamond!
