- I guess you can call this the UA-cam premiere of SEPTAs first Fuel Cell Hydrogen bus. XHE40 #701 leaving the Kroc Center across the street from Midvale Depot where a community outreach meeting took place discussing the future plans for a Zero Emission fleet
#701 will go through a 60 day run before going back to New Flyer. Delivery of the production units are expected to start in August of 2024
Honestly even tho I’m going to miss the old fleet Im excited for the future of septa! I can already see these buses being a favorite for some of the bus fans. We just have to wait, and see what it’s actually like.
The Xclesiors are taking over Philly. Great catch.
This is nice but it’s gonna feel weird that not only is the BAEBRID’s order is still going but we’re getting 10 xhe40’s. Oh boy…
But the good thing is that septa finally gets to test 2 exhaust pipes for the first time. Welcomed addition. Foamers are gonna have fun with that one

I don't get why SEPTA is using those multi-color signs for the electric or fuel cell buses.
Didn't they use the RGB sign on the proterras?
@TAKOELEVATORS2we had proterras running on the 29 and 79, and were taken out of service for some reason. They never re-entered service
Maybe its a way to test out the signage at a small scale, especially since they are getting funded by special grants for these buses
@@lexa.s.6387 the proterras had them, and they were the only ones that had them back then. Another thing that makes them unique is the back door they used. Instead of an inward gliding door you would find on SEPTA buses, the proterras used a sliding plug door

Nice
@TAKOELEVATORS2shut up, I don’t smoke, and it’s not like I want to
I feel like it’s gonna be the same thing with the proterra buses they used at southern, they didn’t last long
these are built by new flyer they will most likely last at least 10 years
@@haziedabnuuy new flyer is a ok brand
@@franksanders9677 every new flyer bus septa owns has lasted like 10 years so far
@@haziedabnuuy the 2001-2006 units last for at least 16-18 years, the 2008-2009 units are being retired this year & we still getting new orders of XD40 BAE buses I think up to 3744..I think then XHD40
@@franksanders9677 yeah
ive seen it twice
I rather have a cng or hybrid ngl
They’re quiet.
I didn’t hear a thing, not even the slightest sound when it left the parking lot.
@@bustitutionsome electric vehicles are not quiet and some are quiet maybe is
The type of motor they use for electric vehicles like Septa New flyer Xhe40 and proterra idk about xe40
I don't like it. Too ugly!
You will get used to it soon. Trust me you’re gonna hate it cause the old fleet (De41’s and LFR’s) are gonna retire soon so it’s gonna become normal. So I’m sorry but it’s gonna be like this in the future or as of this year right now.
HEY THIS BUS IS NOT UGLY
