[1:40:39] 3rd try against the miniboss but uses the Charcoal Resin in front of the boss causing him to rotate thru the area to try a Plunging attack as he greeted the enemies in his path.
[1:42:15] 25th death. Underwhelmed at the Firebuff/Plunging attack damage and resigned to his death as he aggroed 2 more mobs and his estus drained.

    [1:57:40] Liftside Chamber Lost Grace.
[1:59:30] Fat Mob wielding a Curved Sword and his really tough dog.( The dog is strong, using only Kukris to kill it is hard if he doesn't stagger since he's tough.)

For someone like Lobos who's played 1000s of hours of previous Souls games, Elden Ring having so much DS3 in it definitely handicaps him here. He rarely goes out of his way to look around areas because he instinctively treats the levels like linear DS3 levels. It's very interesting to compare to someone like me, who had put 20 hours into the game before I even went into Stormveil Castle lmao

@@li6706 you can beat the game easily with pretty much any of the starting weapons so the only thing you would need to look for to get overpowered is smithing stones, which you can get tons of very easily from any mine. Even if you can’t find the mines, they are usually pretty obviously marked on the map (dark red holes) but there’s no shame just looking up their locations if you still can’t find them. If you really wanted to you could literally just leave all the other items on the ground and only focus on doing the bosses, if you find that to be the fun part of the game beyond the exploration. Even then, if you are struggling, I recommend checking out vaatividya’s most recent video where he explains multiple super painless ways to get overpowered early on, for example as long as you have a bleed weapon(which you can start with if you want), you can kill this enemy that is chained and cannot attack that drops 65k souls, which is an enormous amount early on, and it’s really not too difficult to get there as long as you know how to use sprint on the horse.

The level design is absolutely fromsoftware godlike tier. Every room is like a different puzzle with each different unique bosses and enemies every time. This is unlike anything I've ever seen is crazy.
Edit: Ok I was still freaking out when I wrote that but I still believe the levels are great. I'm still not all the way through but I still have enjoyed larger areas like Stormvail castle. The open world areas are also still awesome and even the chalice dungeons are still fun, only mishap is just the repeated bosses. I still enjoy them a ton I just generally dislike when games do that. So pleased to have found your channel again. You were a huge help (and hugely entertaining) on Nioh 2.. and then for some reason your channel disappeared from my feed. I was desperately trying to find your channel for my Sekiro play through. Glad to have found you again for this.
It’s funny to watch souls vets playing this. Like many of the souls veterans, your souls experience is a huge detriment to the open world RPG nature of this game and the approach to play that encourages. But watching you destroy certain bosses at such a low level is a sight to behold... (i'm level 60, still struggle with the tree guys :D)
But I’ve lost count of the amount of times I thought… if you just got on the horse and double jumped. Or the amount of times where I thought open the map, they told you were to go... or.. look at the map, it's obvious where the map fragments are. Or the amount of times where I thought... see... if you'd actually explored a little in the starter zone instead of pushing forward... (then you'd know what the Wonderous Physik is and how powerful it is ) :D
Frustratingly enjoyable watch, in the best possible way, nice amount of binge watching ahead of me with these while I work… :)
Hats off to From Software, they have done an incredible job of blending the two game types, and their approach to open world design is incredible.

1:39:09 A big part of the enjoyment I found in mastering Dark Souls 1 was learning to be hyper-aggressive by using hitboxes like this and thinking about poise breakpoints.
The easiest was Super Smough, you'd just keep attacking under all his stuff without even needing to time your ducking motions etc. if you were angled right, and you'd ideally keep your poise break for when he readies to jump up. Can even overhead swat him out the sky on his descent, very easy with force/wog/dragon roar, casting also being great cause you can keep attacking while regenning stamina in dks1. I've noticed this stuff happening a lot more incidentally in Elden Ring, especially with the giant stagger crit combos, jumps are also great.
I find a lot of Elden Ring can be very easy, but as someone who likes to try 0 blocking and speeding through the 1st 40-80% of a fight after analyzing a boss, I see a high skill expression with some of these fights. It also has fun tactical expression, been loving the Gravitas Ashes of War on my Brick Hammer, such incredibly sick combos when the GET OVER HERE effect applies, especially if it's vs. multiple enemies that group up for your sweeps, all except one whiffing their hit cause the succ AoE reaches very nicely, the odd one out hit directly with the weapon as a punish, it seems to build stagger quite a lot.
Also a great anti-flying enemy move for the otherwise poorly suited Brick Hammer. 2:10:28 Like these...
Hit-trading stat-check builds aren't my favorite, but clean hyper-aggressive styles that require making quick adaptations and being precise are THE BEST.
These games started with Dark Souls 1 for me, the game's identity was basically 1 hit punish and back off, it's such an amazing feeling when you can break free from that to this extent without it feeling like cheese. (Cheese is fun from time to time too though, slightly timed Zwei 2hr2 stun-locking Taurus with those double hits is a classic)
3:06:03 This is something I've learned to accept and it's a whole lot more fun. 1st run can be mostly casual with a few challenges when you really feel it. Exploring and taking it easy is fun in it's own right, so why not learn more passively as you do that so you've got some background when you do go hardcore? I've even tried hit-trading strats here and there, especially if it's a boss I already fought anyway, interesting to learn how approaches pan out. With all the Ashes of War etc., there's SO much to try.

I feel like he's playing it too much like a regular souls game. He's not using the horse at all or summons/magic. I know he doesn't have the stats to use it right now but from the trailers it looked like those were huge things in this game. Maybe that's just the way it looked bc they made it look that way bc it looks cooler. I haven't played the game so idk but I have seen the gameplay trailers, people play the network test and now people playing the full game and it seems like people are using those options a lot, well way more than when playing most souls games. Take the dude on the horse for example. If you use the horse you can get in and out a lot faster and while on foot its way harder to dodge some of his attacks. Knowing lobos he'll get it done either way and I'm sure once he's leveled up more and gets a grasp of the game and in future playthroughs he'll use the horse and summons and magic more. I guess he's just doing what he's used to. Not to mention he ignored everything so he could go in to it without knowing anything so it's fresh so I'm sure that plays in to it. Most people I've watched played the network test so they already had a good feel for how the game plays. Either way I'm enjoying watching him regardless of how he plays bc he's funny and entertaining as fuck. No clue how he never gets frustrated while playing. I get frustrated way to quick when playing games like this. Hell I get frustrated when playing normal games which are easy compared to these games.
