I really dont know.... I came home one day saw my sinanju's arm on the floor with my dog nibbiling on his hand, so I went into my corner and cried a lot.
Ryan, you should do an enamel wash when you fully paint the kit just to make it look a little more used. You're well on your way to plamo enlightenment! Glad you are trying different tecniques to add realism. That's the best part of the hobby.
I'd love to see a Pacific Rim Kit from Bandai. I can see a 1/144 being the size of a 1/60 Gundam. Where a Gundam is about 50 to 60 feet in real life, Gypsy Danger from Pacific Rim is over 200 feet tall.
Girls Und Panzer is about girls who take Tankery in high school. They go to school on this HUUUGE Aircraft Carrier and dock only for tank matches. Its actually quite a well done anime and not particularly girly anime actually. Definitely worth checking out a few episodes! I am thinking on picking up my favorite team, Ankou-san! but to many Gunpla coming out and rather get them instead XD But great anime! Definitely check it out! Crunchyroll you can view the episodes!
Ryan! THAT BATTLE DAMAGE IS AWESOME! I've built a ton of Gunpla and never had the nerve to just jump in and damage a kit. I think you've inspired me to go ahead and take the leap. Keep it up, show your progress on Gunpla TV and I'll damage up a kit with you.
well after a long time considering if i should ordered the MG sinanju from you guys with ver.ka stickers. finished a sazabi ver.ka a month or 2 ago and really like the ver.ka white line stickers that came with it (i just ignored the 80 or something stickers you need a magnifying glass to read) to bad the sinanju doesn't have 2 tone thrusters like the sazabi (gray outer shell with a yellow inner shell) it just gives the sazabi a little extra detail.
Very informative episode. Really gonna help us Sinanju virgins choose from those versions. With those 3 Sinanju versions that already came out (2 originals + 1 stein) when would you guys think Bandai would release an MG Kshatriya? I read they were holding back on doing one because it would be more expensive that an average MG and Bandai thinks that it would not justify the cost of creating one because for them MG Kshatriya would not sell as much as they want it. Your thoughts on this?
oh what i meant was all the decals it came compared to the ova version. In addition to that the fine and tedious work of having to either paint the gold trim or use the waterside decals. =/ Any suggestions?
Excellent, entertaining, and informational video. Thank you for taking the time to explain and compare the two Sinanju kits. How about the Launcher and Sword parts? Will you have that available for pre-order?
@joaquinDgunplameiste thanks for supporting my plea, sir. In my opinion, kshatriya (my favorite ms design in gundam UC) is as iconic mobile suit as the unicorn, banshee, and sinanju. hopefully they can solve that weight problem already and take our money.
Girls und Panzer is probably one of the best series I've watched in a long while. Realism aside, the characters are very likable and it's not just fanservice. The music is great too.
When you say "dry application decals", is that another term for stickers? I'm just getting back to modeling kits and I have a few Gundam kits which, I notice, have both water slide decals and stickers. Are "dry application decals" something different? I love the MG Gundam kits. Even though the instructions are in Japanese, they still have great picture by picture instructions. I just wish that the paint colors and mixing percentages were in English or used color numbers so I could get the paint colors right. I have the Sinanju OVA kit and I'm expecting the Sinanju Ver Ka "shortly". Thank you for putting out some of the distinctions between the 2 kits.
They're probably referring to the "rub on" decals. They're the ones on a clear (frosted) card that you cut out. You then place the piece where you want and rub the decal to transfer it to the model. They're really the best kind because you don't have to edges or the "shine" of the stickers or water-slides.
I put this on the Gaijin-Gunpla website so I will ask it here too: is it wise to buy both model and mix the good parts together to make the "perfect" Sinanju? The only disadvantage should be the price tag you pay to get there.
Hi guys love your show, and never miss one episode but now i must ask: Why is the shipping of the new sinanju so expensive? Shoudnt it be cheaper? because of the new frame?
Hey Ryan and Syd. Syd, how much do you think is the probability to see a Sazabi Ver.Ka at the end of this year? You know, with Char's Counterattack anniversary and all. That would be for me a no brainer christmas present!
+Luis Raphael Buy them both, they are both very amazing kits. My preferences in kits lie more with the better kits than with my actual personal favorite among the different series. My personal favorite Gundam is the Epyon, but my favorite kits are the Sinanju number 1 just barely by a small margin, and the Sazabi is number 2, followed by Epyon number 3. You can't go wrong with either, but the Sazabi is going to be much heavier and bulky than the Sinanju, and as such, also unable to be mounted on an action base. Also bear that in mind, the fact that the Sazabi is a VERY LARGE KIT. The completed model is going to be probably close to double the weight and size of the Sinanju moreso in width than height. Either way, you posted 4 months ago so you probably already purchased a kit, but that's my opinions between the two.
TJ S yeah, i decided to get the Sazabi first. :)) Harder to get a hold of it where i'm from. Hobby shops near my area seem to re-stock more sinanjus than sazabis. Thanks for the advice!
+Luis Raphael Great choice! If you completed the Sazabi, the Sinanju will be a breeze. I order all of my stuff online through either Amazon or HLJ. Problem for me usually becomes that the smaller shops nearest to me (either Hobbytown USA or Gundam Planet about 2 hours away in New Jersey) charge 10-30 dollars more than the online shops. I chatted with one of the workers and he said they purchase from the same places online, but have to make a profit so they up-sell it. That's capitalism for ya! Either way, enjoy your kit and best of luck on your future kits!
+Raijin Thundersoul well im actually now getting into the hobby and ive been searching on gundams to purchase (master grade) ones... im new i havent built one yet and need one to start with ...the 00 raiser series is my favourite
Just how much more tight is the Ver. Ka frame compared to the OVA? I really, really like sturdier frames and joints, but the OVA frame is a darker gray which I like better than the Ver. Ka. Should I sacrifice stability for better colors? P.S I don't want to paint the frame.
Hey guys, great vid as always. While ive already got a Ver KA. waiting to be put together for the Sinanju, i was kinda wondering about which Unicorn to get. I mean specfically between the Full armor Unicorn or the Red Frame OVA version. Both are really nice but im only getting one. Any suggestions?
i recommend getting the OVA. i have a banshee verka. it looked good, but at the cost of your sanity while building it. i was very careful when assembling it but the verka is really fragile. overall it feels very flimsy in the hand
Have any of you tried using the Sinanju metal decals from some of the shops on ebay? The ones you can get in silver of gold? Any thoughts on those? Painting the trim is giving me nightmares.
Well I love girls und panzer mainly for the tank action that it surprisingly does have. I don't think I would buy a tank kit that showed up in the anime if it didn't have the decals that are required to recreate the tank in the show.
I bought the ver. ka and wonder. Could i sand down the pegs to stop them from breaking? Or maybe apply some sort of lubricant to reduce friction? I'm affraid they might get too lose if i did that but i don't have the skill to repair anything if it breaks.
do you have an episode that will differentiate the original gunpla to a Class A? if not, may i know what is the differences, not only the box but also the item in it, i just want to have an idea for me to avoid those bootlegs. thanks in advance.
Hello, Sid, Ryan, I was wondering if you recommend any Heavily armed gundam kits, something like Full Armor Unicorn, heavy Arms, Kampfer and the Duel gundam assault shroud I love kits with ton of weapons and have picked up quite a few kotobukiya weapons.
I've never painted beyond panel lining before, and I own a Sinanju OVA... What do? I have done waterslides before which went well, but do those work well for the gold? Is there anything special I'd need to make them work?
Hi guys. I was looking through Prime92's videos and saw an unboxing for an Exia Repair 3. What got me curious was it's "Metal Build". What does that mean?
Thanks for the explanation of the OAV / Ver Ka differences! I think that I'll get the Ver ka just because the decals can be left alone if desired: they provide extras for other kits. I hope that you will feature a few Five Star Stories kits one day: perhaps even the newest line of IMS, and a few resin models, too.
i was confusing on topcoating, should i just compelete whole gundam then topcoat them seperate as hand, leg, chest..... or topcoat the armor individually, then put them back to inner frame, hope anyone can explain tome
mg sinanju ver.ka not worth it cus the first step of building it was a pain the plastice wont cooperate and when i finished and tried to attach the chest to the waist it didnt all the way and broke in the process so i tried to cut the thing in the waist that broke in the chest and ended up cutting my self and some pieces are easy to get stress mark and for my conclusion i will not buy a ver.ka ever again they break easily
Lol, well actually there have been instances of people so clueless that after seeing the big HLJ.com watermark in the video, direct links to the products in the description and other references of Hobbylink.tv and hlj.com being the same entity and just promoting the merchandise you can buy there. Yet they still ask, where can I buy this and that? what's hlj? And even after mentioning hlj 110 times there will some.

14:15 for everyone who wants to know the biggest advantage of OVA version over ver Ka version.
SO can I sand and narrow down the meg a miniscule amount to loosen the fit just a tiny amount to try and overcome this dangerously tight fit?
Thanks!
I have both and there are very minute differences.
1. PS for the inner frame instead of ABS
2. The Gold water slides are darker in the OVA version than the other one.
3. Not as many decals and seals (though this did not stop me really)
4. Bazooka
video starts at 4:40
Not all heroes wear capes. Some are just prisms that come without capes.
@The Human Experiment is ur pfp one of the album covers from pink floyd
kamniks taught me how to paint model kits... its so good to see him referenced here
I really dont know.... I came home one day saw my sinanju's arm on the floor with my dog nibbiling on his hand, so I went into my corner and cried a lot.
Battle damage:))
Watching in 2021 and this video helped me decide on which to get
Went with the OVA

for a first attempt at battle damage, that's really good Ryan. Well done

That StuG3 is amazing, I've had my eye on that kit for a while! The show's pretty fun and I like StuG3s a lot in general.

Why brutal? It's one of the best kits ever produced.

Juan Chavez Aw, the Decal on ver ka......
I actually did buy 2 of those tanks because of the anime. Not usually a tank model builder, mostly do GK and mechs.
Excellent, entertaining, and informational video. Thank you for taking the time to explain and compare the two Sinanju kits. How about the Launcher and Sword parts? Will you have that available for pre-order?
I'm happy I got the OVA
i wouldnt mind a signed poster from Syd and Ryan :D
Thanks for the info here but the ova waist still need a lil sanding?
Hey Syd or Ryan you should weigh the inner frames only, afterall i do believe that the outer armor is the same plastic
StuGIII kicks ass in general, its my favorite tank destroyer.
@joaquinDgunplameiste
thanks for supporting my plea, sir. In my opinion, kshatriya (my favorite ms design in gundam UC) is as iconic mobile suit as the unicorn, banshee, and sinanju. hopefully they can solve that weight problem already and take our money.

Sinanjus are hugggeeee, I mean i knew they were tall but when i saw them standing in front Syd, i realized just how tall those monstrosities are!
is bandai considering replacing all their past kits that are made of ABS with polystyrene?
The ver ka is being discontinued?! Might have to get that one first.

Apparently that when they release gundam seed destiny episode 1 remastered there was a advertisement about the RG destiny gundam.
Hello, Sid, Ryan, I was wondering if you recommend any Heavily armed gundam kits, something like Full Armor Unicorn, heavy Arms, Kampfer and the Duel gundam assault shroud I love kits with ton of weapons and have picked up quite a few kotobukiya weapons.
with all the sinanjis coming out will that make the sinanji titanium finish cheaper
I've never painted beyond panel lining before, and I own a Sinanju OVA... What do? I have done waterslides before which went well, but do those work well for the gold? Is there anything special I'd need to make them work?
Can you guys do a video on weathering models
is the sinanju now cheaper? or still the same price?
If you think extra detail is worth the HELL with the decals. go ver. Ka
but is the bazooka so heavy to cost more than 2x of the normal Sinanju?
Never had or seen a master grade in real life befor....no wonder why they cost so much.
Hi guys. I was looking through Prime92's videos and saw an unboxing for an Exia Repair 3. What got me curious was it's "Metal Build". What does that mean?
I wouldn't mind a signed poster
...by the voice actors from the gundam series XD

I hope that you will feature a few Five Star Stories kits one day: perhaps even the newest line of IMS, and a few resin models, too.
if the only difference between the ver ka and the OVA is a bazooka, why not buy them separately?
Is the only difference is the colour?
The ova version is also taller. Weird they didn't notice that o_0
who's jim?
ryan are you going to dry brushing that battle damage?
Hi, I want to use the bazooka from my stein to my Sinanju ver ka. should I just take off the clip from the handle and it will work with the sinanju?
which one has less work to build ka or ova
thanks for the info :)
wait those are gold decals?
I would rather buy the rg, as those sleeves markings look lile they would be difficult to apply
I have problem to connect the tubes on the waist to the front skirts ... it's just won't stick, I think I did something wrong here ....
Why does the OVA look slightly bigger
LED can be fit to ver.ka right?
Aww man the Sinanju is so beautiful! Too bad my dog ate my sinanju's fingers ;(
I really want the OVA Sinanju
is it just me or is the high grade more of a crimson than the master grade
i was confusing on topcoating, should i just compelete whole gundam then topcoat them seperate as hand, leg, chest..... or topcoat the armor individually, then put them back to inner frame, hope anyone can explain tome
ova looks taller
Do them separate as arm, leg chest, head and backpack portions. Move it around though to cover everything.
does both have led features?
Neither have LED features.
thanks
I've got a 8500 yen hole burning in my pocket. Guess where I'm spending it. *laughs*
I see sinanju so fast hahaaha
3x to be exact :D
Sinanju ver ka very2 dificulty build. Some part loose ..
mg sinanju ver.ka not worth it cus the first step of building it was a pain the plastice wont cooperate and when i finished and tried to attach the chest to the waist it didnt all the way and broke in the process so i tried to cut the thing in the waist that broke in the chest and ended up cutting my self and some pieces are easy to get stress mark and for my conclusion i will not buy a ver.ka ever again they break easily
Lol, well actually there have been instances of people so clueless that after seeing the big HLJ.com watermark in the video, direct links to the products in the description and other references of Hobbylink.tv and hlj.com being the same entity and just promoting the merchandise you can buy there. 9:00 - 18:18 difference of sinanju
If someone could recommend some where I can purchase this guy for real cheap, that would be appreciated.
Hobby link japan
I have purchased the Stein so i will skip this OVA ver. and just give the bazooka of the stein to my Ver. Ka Sinanju. It's not worth it to buy another OVA sinanju just for a 500 yen bazooka and a 10 grams lighter frame.
R.I.P weight scale
Hi Syd
There is going TO BE A RG OF THIS KIT!!!!!
can i just summerize that as "no fucking difference"? since the inner frame is the same, the armor is the same, weapons are the same, color is the same, material is different but the weight is the same i cant see how the ver.ka version is almost 40$ more expensive. thank you guys, it was usefull, even though could be way shorter. =D
+Yotam Freyman Weapons aren't the same. Markings aren't the same. The difference in material can have a huge impact on the structure and fragility of a kit. Difference in price is $5. If the Ver Ka is more expensive by far it's just the seller trying to take advantage of rarity of the Ver Ka. reproduction.
+hobbylink.tv sory, my bad, i checked, confused with the kit with the titanium finish. that is really more expensive but in this case it is justified i guess.=]
Yotam Freyman
Its shiner. So Idiots will pay more.
Admiral H.T.H when you cut it from the runers it will leave those annoying nubmarks. so you will have to sand. and then you will have to strip the paint anyway. and you can make it any color/shine you wish. so really, why overpay?
13:32 nuf said, ova all the way thank you.
Oh how I regret listening to this video...
My OVA Sinanju was everything I hoped for it to be and more. It looked amazing and felt solid...
Right up until I tried to remove the waist section and the peg snaps off.
Well then.
+Nick Stranton You must've confused the OVA with the Ver Ka. The Ver Ka has the fragile waist peg
might wait for the English dub release
@suiton629 Oh please u keep on spammin these type of questions everywhere for gods sake
have seen a few episodes of the girls with tanks and i have bought two of the tanks, but what lets them down is no girl figures.......................a real shame......
That hippo is just so wrong xD
Real grade is much better der is a metallic gold in the logos of neo zeon on the shield and the chest
Wut the... WTF.... HOW DID THIS HAPPENED?
