A few corrections and other things that I believe need mentioning: 1 - there is indeed a track for the hips, each one can individually move about 1 cm (3/8ths of an inch or so) forward and back to allow a slightly higher kick... if the skirts are out of the way. 2 - there actually is a mounting point for the rifle at the back, at the top of the center red part at the back of the waist there is a piece that flips up to reveal a clamp for the rifle. It only fits over the rifle itself, not the scope, and the center of balance is a little off so if you want to use it and not have it look lopsided you need to take the scope off the rifle. 3 - All of the thrusters except the ones on the back pack and the backs of the legs are on ball joints, and can be positioned slightly. There's sixteen of the things (three per shoulder, two per sideskirt, and two per leg), because of course red ones go faster. 4 - The OVA version is made in all Polystyrene, making it easier to paint than the old Ver.Ka release, and easier to fix if something breaks, but I *think* some of the joints will wear a little faster if you keep working them because the plastic isn't quite as flexible as ABS, and it definitely isn't as smooth. My OVA version hasn't broken on me yet, but then I've left it on the shelf in a "badass armfold" pose for ages so it doesn't have much wear on it anyway. 5 - The beam axes that are mounted on the shield can be folded up for storage. They're mounted with round pegs allow them to be rotated up towards the top half, and then you rotate the shafts 180 degrees so the axe blades face outwards again. That more or less completely hides them on the back of the shield.
Sinanju is the Ferrari of mobile suits, and the MG Sinanju is the Ferrari of model kits. Think about it. This kit is 10 years old and if you paint all 3 grades (MG/HG/RG) to look exactly the same, they all pretty much have the same detail. No extra greebling or Freedom 2.0-ed panel lines. And no one is complaining (which is a good sign). Yet, you can put this next to any new MG or the Nu/Sazabi Ver Ka and not notice gap in technology.
tbh the rg has worse detail on the gold trim because of the coated runners and the open hatch gimmik that's unique to it and to me at least is the best version, but yeah the Ferrari comparison is right on point, especially if you paint on it some white trim here and there like in their formula cars
I usually prefer flat topcoat as a final coat on gunpla, however the Sinanju has always been one of those exceptions. It has that sports car vibe that warrants a gloss coat as the final coat

This was my second kit and it didn't necessarily ruin every kit I've gotten since... but it basically did. Still loved building the others, but the amount of parts separation and gimmicks built into the frame are just exceptional.
Was the hi nu the Ver Ka? I’ve built the sinanju and the RG Hi-Nu and MG Rx-93 Nu- the detail on the rx-93 Ver Ka is as good if not better then the sinanju.
The knees I glued them. The fuel tanks I glued them at the seams and then used some crazy glue on the knobs sanded them very gently to tightened the joints. They still move. The shield is what is it. Great to display but not to play with. Beautiful piece.
Agreed with Zach. One of the kits you should try to build. I have the titanium finish ver ka one and I really love it. The build of this kit is really something.
I built the clear mechanical version for my first Sinanju MG and taken me 9 hours to complete. Simple and clean snapping and putting together the parts and did well done cutting the fingers after what happened to my Psycho Zaku MG ones. I might get the original version for myself since i gave it to my dad.

Just finished cleaning nubs today... those waist tube rings were A TON OF FUN 😂😣😩! But, already half into the straight build, and stoked on how nice the engineering is! Some familiarity to my Stein Ver Ka, but enough new complexity to be fresh and fun! Love this!
Even though it's just barely functional, the mono eye does have that MG Zaku style gear for turning with the head. The freedom of the base of the neck makes it unable to catch the gear enough, but it has very limited rotation anyway. Just nice it was built into the head!
Sinanju is what I think of as the ultimate Zeon suit. It's loud, it's proud, it screams Zeon excess and hubris. Kinda makes me want to dress up a Sazabi with that kind of arrogance and gold.
IMO the ultimate Zeon suit, is the MSN-04 II Nightingale. it just screams that old, old principality of zeon design methodology of, big, alien appearance, pushing the absolute limits of what an MS is capable of and of course, highly experimental prototype sort of feeling of many prototype Mobile suits and Mobile Armors of the Principality of Zeon given it was an MS pushing into a MA territory. The Sinanju is what happens when a feddie suit gets a Zeon coat of paint. Pretty good all things considered but it's still a feddie suit under the hood.
A cool little detail you didn't mention-- the eye swivels side to side when you turn the head. There's little interlocking gear teeth in the head assembly
The R.G. had its problems, but I worked through the clitches. I am very impressed with its appearance. It is absolutely beautiful. I will work on the H.G. with paints. The Ova looks great. I am saving my energies to go full blown on the Sazabi.
For this kit i really like stickers.Any gold paint cannot match the color of this foil stickers.So i use artknife cut out the black part and left only gold part remain.
this is the first gundam I've get, it took me 3 days and it's really difficult to put the yellow small part on it. the belt part (below waist) where you connect spring filled with small circles is difficult too. one of it dont want to get clip so I superglued it. it is difficult kit to make for me (a total newbie), but once I finished it look really good and satisfying 😊. especially when I made the decals accurate and make sure the part hold tightly
That Nu ver ka is a blast! Inner frame was so sick and awesome! And the fin funnels if you put them at the backpack you might have a little problem with it but manageble, but if you put it on a spider amrs the problems will be paid off.
4:23, I had that same thing happen to me too. It wasn't until I was long done with the kit that I finally realized that it was a different shield attachment.
Am I the only one who had problems with those chains on the skirt armor? One of mine kept falling out of where it connects on the front armor, and the connector on the other was somehow too big to go through the hole. I eventually had to trim the second one down slightly and glue them both in just to get them to stay put. I haven't ever seen anyone mention that in a review, though, so I have to wonder if I just got a faulty kit.
while being a badly flawed kit at least the RG Sinanju has separate parts for the gold trim of the sleeves markings instead of having to rely on stickers or water slide decals which could be replicated on the larger MG kits.
I have the Stein and I just need to get one red Sinanju because it just looks so awesome. And it seems like people want the gold sleeves as a separate parts with crappy details like RG instead of sharp details one....LOGIC. I mean...reverse wash technique is fun.
it's difficult to attach if you use the fullrifle build (rifle+bazooka combinatipn) because the holder is just a small strip line of plastic between the handle of gun and the gundam's hand. I can only fit the sniper rifle, without combining it to bazooka. it is lighter and firmer, just need to line up the strip to the handle.. there's this \ shape hole
I know I'll get flak for this, but I'm honestly just not as much a fan of this design as I used to be. I much prefer the stein now. The only things I like about this design more, are the backpack thrusters, and the rifle. I think this one is a little too flashy for my taste.
Yea, except that its not the right shade of color, the head looks alot different, the eva doesnt have wings, the eva doesnt have cylinders, literally the whole body patterns look a lot different. But yeah, same thing.
I built the ver.Ka as my second MG a year ago but don't trust it enough to try and pose it anymore. The joints are so stiff I'm affraid off braking them.
Did you ever end up messing with the waterslides for this one? Also, would you recommend a gloss top coat for something like this or just leaving it bare?
I just bought this kit today and so far having fun with it my only gripe would have to be the water slide decals they have for the gold parts those things are ass

I couldn't get myself around the MG Unicorn, I think it is just not worth it given how excellent the RG Unicorn is despite being smaller. It badly needs an update.
Agreed. The Master Grade should of had separate black and gold pieces like the RG. Add separate piece for the head vulcans and get rid of the seam line on the back of the head. Better/ stronger waist joint as I've heard that is easy to break.

I can second that. It is well documented that they fixed that problem with the Ver Ka Sinanju Stien, and that this version uses the Stien frame, and so does the narrative version. Not an issue with the animation version.
No color separate parts for the gold? Actual deal breaker. It’s literally my favorite suit in any of the anime but I HATE stickers. Was one of my least favorite HG kits to actually build. But I love the way it looks. What’s the best way to paint the gold on?

I need to pick up the MG OVA. I love the Sinanju’s design so much. I love the RG for a display piece, but it’s just not a poser.

the sinanju is a design that doesn't need additional detail due to how smooth and organic is looks in design in my opinion, and I like detail.

If you hang the shield from the shoulder it will let you two hand the massively combined rifle so maybe it can hold it up.
I wish this MS appears in Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2. When it does will be a Raid MS.

You're better off getting a separate stand to help support the heavy weapons, especially when you attach the bazooka on the beam rifle

@@QuadraticBajeena i got strike rg and i dissapoint with it, its fragile and lot of part is fall off when i try to make it stand or weilding a weapon and the kit itself cant handle the backpack

Could’ve sworn that the peg for the waist es always an issue for this kit? I’ve always wanted to get it but I kept hearing that the waist peg kept breaking on people
That was an issue many people had with the Ver. Ka and one of the reasons why they switched to PS plastic for the frame of this version.
I can second that. It is well documented that they fixed that problem with the Ver Ka Sinanju Stien, and that this version uses the Stien frame, and so does the narrative version. Not an issue with the animation version.
The main problem is the peg is too tight. Sand down the peg a bit and you're good to go....this is not an issue by any means.

No color separate parts for the gold? Actual deal breaker. It’s literally my favorite suit in any of the anime but I HATE stickers. Was one of my least favorite HG kits to actually build. But I love the way it looks. What’s the best way to paint the gold on?
