    Where in MD were you able to rent that top dressing machine?
    The spot near me doesn't carry it.

      Would ever consider Perennial ryegrass? The fescue is fire though! Pete with GCI is doing an experiment with rye grass to see if it will live through a tough hot summer.

      @@catherineagarcia7964 I tried that with my previous home, I had renovated my backyard as a Rye Grass test during the fall. The following spring my grass was dark green and gorgeous. Unfortunately once the summer, hit it couldn’t handle it. I did water it however the sun sat mostly at the rear of my home and it couldn’t handle it. I would admit I did a so-so job with watering it, mostly in the morning I would. Now I think about it, I’ve should’ve tested with my front yard but my fescue was so gorgeous I couldn’t see myself getting rid of it.

    My neighbor here in Ohio had a lush lawn 3 weeks ago with tall fescue that he overseeded last year. He has had decent rainfall But just this week after some hot weather there are sporadic patches of dead fescue. What would cause this lawn to turn all of sudden?? It’s just in a few sports ….not widespread.

    • @ElevatedLawnscapes
      @ElevatedLawnscapes  Місяць тому +1

      It could be a number of things but it sounds like it could be disease or local "hot spots" in the soil. It's hard to really diagnose without seeing what's going on but those would be the things that I would look into. As temps start to heat up, cool season grasses are going to start to struggle with disease pressure and heat/drought stress.

    Ryan knorr said in a recent vid that once you put sand down to level, you can't add soil back on top again. Is this true? I always add a little soil/compost mix in with my fall over seeds, but I recently sand leveled.

    • @ElevatedLawnscapes
      @ElevatedLawnscapes  Місяць тому +2

      Knorr is correct. Once you go 100% sand you have to continue with that to avoid negative impact. If you had stuck with sand soil mix, you can continue with that.

      Great video and going all sansmd requires frequent watering during the summer months pending on what region you live in. Watering every day when it's not raining is a requirement during droughts or it will burn. That had to be a 800-1000 project with some of the rentals like dingo and top dresser etc.
