letting your hair be soaked wet for a long time will cause it to be very dry afterwards. so sitting under a shower head for a longtime really isn't that good.

A good way to save water is to only use the shower to rinse your body. So wash your body without the water on, then turn it on to rinse all the soap off. I'm sure most people do that already, but just a hint to those who dont :)

Alba!! You are such an inspiration! I hated my natural curly hair for far too long until I saw you! You taught me how to embrace my natural curls and to love them! Now that I have I feel so much happier and it's so easy to get ready lol instead of taking forever to straighten it. Love your videos Alba. You are gorgeous. I learned so much from you in taking care of my husband and sons (and even my own ) hair. My routine: wash my face while water runs through my hair then wash, rinse and condition. I then TURN OFF the shower (saves a lot of water) and wash and scrub my body... whilst the conditioner is still in my hair. Then I rinse it all out with luke warm/cold water...

I actually turn off my shower a lot during my time in there. I only turn it on when something needs to be rinsed.

I do turn off the water when not in use too but while filming in the shower, for the purpose of this video I didn't as it was already really hard to shower in the with camera equipment lighting and my husband It's not an actual look at my life reality you know.... It's a created video based on my life

+SEANA SPARKLE You should see how it reacts to your skin, for me personally it broke me out around my mouth area (finally clearing up, about 98% gone) so I stopped using it. I also did dilute it.
Use it for a while. Some stuff do break you out until you get use to it

I love coconut oil as lotion! It's so moisturizing and it helped a lot with my eczema
So you use body wash as shampoo?! I've never heard of that before but it sounds like it would dry out your hair? I'm not sure but yeah lol
No not quite. The cleanser I used is an all purpose cleanser for multi purpose. It can be used as hair cleanser, body cleanser, or household cleanser or laundry. It's pure Castile soap so it's safe for multi purpose
The body wash that she used can be used for face wash as well, it's called Dr Bonners!
It's an 18 in 1 pure-Castile soap! It can be used for your teeth, hair, body, face to laundry detergent, and household cleaner! I'd definitely check it out☺️
did you dilute the shampoo?
Rebecca Foster you just use it as a shampoo, so you would pour a little bit on your hands and apply it to your scalp and with water it should foam up as you scrub

Tip: while you are washing your hair, face and body turn of the water, that way you are not wasting it.
Turn off the water while you're washing your hair and actually bathing. You don't need the water running.

+QueenLivia1 Why? Just to have to turn it off and on every 5 seconds? I don't know about you but I don't lather my whole body till the soap get icky and dry and then wash it off...I rinse as I'm washing it. Same with my hair.

Well seeing as she has to wash her hair (and curly hair is more time consuming to wash than pin straight hair), shampooing and detangling can take a while, at least it does for me. So instead of having the water running the whole time and wasting the water that she's so keen on conserving, just turn it off in the first place. Besides, wouldn't you rather turn the taps on and off a few times more to save both water and money?
QueenLivia1 Well for me showering is quick so I don't worry about it because turning it off/on wouldn't be worth it.

Castor oil + oliva oil + rosemary essential oil - this is my ultimate recipe for oil scalp massage /instead of conditioner (but I like to do it one hour before shower or before I go to sleep and let it for the night ) .Thanks for this useful video.God bless you. :)

I love the Dr.Bronners soap ! I tried the lavender, rose and peppermint, next one on my list is the citrus or eucalyptus. They are also great to clean the house I love multipurpose stuff ! lol

Hi Alba!! I too live in California and I do the one song challenge all the time. I kind of thought it up because I felt I just wasted so much water staying in and just taking my time. While I don't rush to finish my basic shower routine I do however move to the rhythm of the beat(so I try to choose a fast pace song) that way I can be out of the bathroom before or as my song has ended. In addition to the song challenge I turn off the water after I wash my face, wet my skin and loofa (with soap). Once water is off I wash from head to toe(this is where I take my time, so to speak). Once done I rinse. Done!! Hehe. But turning the water off while washing your body is a HUGE TIP I would say would contribute a lot. 😉

Nice challenge! I'm going to have to try it. I haven't used Dr. Bronners liquid soap on my hair in a while, and I might try it again. I'm going to have to get a hair stopper. Where can I get one? You just have a shower filter for your shower head, right? After showering, I sometimes use the SheaMoisture Superfruit Complex Hand & Body Scrub, which I love!
