Love love that you are commenting on this video 8 years after I made my comment. They have blown up! Cool to see how much they have grown over this time period
For 10 years I always assumed a woman sang this song. They must have tweaked his voice or something in post, no? Doesn't sound like the way he sings in most other songs I've heard...
@@evanwakelin7944I think it might be because in the chorus with the "oooold soul" bits, that's mostly the girls singing and then Ryan just has a quieter lower harmony? You're right, I think you can hear the girls more in this one, which is fab cause they get a chance to shine. I also think any differences in his pitch throughout is probably just because this is from when he was much younger 😄
@@jeffblimsfalcetto3748 maybe because there are three voices, Ryan, Molly and one from Debra Jean Creelman, who is no longer in the band, that’s the diferent voice there.
@Mirko B Hoble that doesn't change the fact that they do curse. Not a bad thing, but OP was implying it was a bad thing and how they were happy that they don't, when they do.
I seen them at a calgary casino. Best show of my fucking life. They played everything. Complete with a cover of Creep in the middle of body of years. I have no idea why they aren't a list
The craziest thing is that while this is a catchy song for sure, the whole album is even more AWESOME!!! As a huge new music junkie, I can say with confidence that "O My Heart" may be one of the best North American efforts in four or five years. It will be one of only a handful that I actually go out and buy on CD, which says a lot!!!
3:40 the buildup of this outro gets me every time. The first two notes from the guitar. Then the groovy riff.. the few piano notes.. then the arpeggio.. it finally explodes to a synth solo then the song ends.. damn
I discovered this group a few months ago, on the XM radio station, ' The Verge ' . They play a lot of good music and a lot of Mother Mother. I've purchased 3 of their cds. I never get tired of them. I'm still in awe of how immensely talented they are. If I told you how old I am, you probably wouldn't believe me. Let's just say that I remember sitting on the living room floor, watching The Beatles make their American debut. I can't till they return to SF.
How am I just now finding this awesome band?! I freaking love this song and this whole album! I’m so sad I didn’t discover them sooner but so happy I found them now!!! I’ve been so starved for good music and this is just what I needed! I’m listening to this whole album on repeat!!! I love this band!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
I had been walking all over Milan while listening repeatedly to this song, still really can't get this out of my head, so infectuous.... Mother Mother to me is the best band ever in engineering the different levels and layers of voices to turn it into pleasing complicated twisted Acapella like choruses sometimes
Talented, intelligent, song-writer, musician, charismatic, speaks with an actual wide vocabulary and we can't forget wonderfully attractive. More men need to be like Ryan Guldemond.
Watching this for the nostalgia. I remember the first time I saw Mother Mother live would have been a Peak Performance Project event in 2010? (or 2009... it was whatever the first year that they did it). Damn, I am right in my bedroom again listening to the radio and listening.
So freaking happy they finally are getting some air time. This band is by far the best I've heard. So effin quirky, and Canadian to boot. Everyone in the band makes it perfect sounding.

indeed. I find this song more remarkable each time I listen to it. I'm at the age where videos tend to bore me to tears (been there, done that), but this video has some unique elements and fits with the song. The side shots and zooms are quite remarkable. Simple, effective. Fish heads, sure.
