From Wētā Workshop, known for their work on the world of Middle-earth in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game invites players to experience the storybook return of living life as a Hobbit in the idyllic town of Bywater. Unwind in the breathtaking pastures, visit the townsfolks’ local shops, or even enjoy second breakfast. Help bring the community together and achieve official village status by throwing the greatest Bywater Festival the Shire has ever seen.
Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game will be released in the second half of 2024 on PS5 (PlayStation 5), Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

Needs a animation and textures overhaul. Its not coming across as whimsical and cartoon style. Its iust coming across as retro in a bad way.

Some games are diamonds in the rough and need time to develop. Look at a game like 7 Days to Die early alpha versions VS how it looks now and in the coming Alpha 22

Love the concept and the environment, but the characters' faces sometimes look a little... Off? Weird? Maybe a little creepy?
Cash grab? Terrible game design? No reason to be made? These companies are sitting on top of a free money printer with the LotR IP. All they gotta do is make a Hogwart's Legacy clone.

@@darianstarfrog the “Concerning Hobbits” prologue in LOTR mentions the Harfoots, who are canonically darker-skinned than other hobbits. Besides, it’s a video game with a customisable avatar, which people will want to make look like themselves. It’s not a big deal lmao

@@MrDadeadone Weta didnt develop Return to Moria, you can check it. And Weta wasn't involved with the story/plot of the Amazon series. They just handled the designs and effects which were amazing.
Seems they may have taken some ESG money though..there's new brown Hobbits in there. 🥴

LOTR is one of the greatest pieces of fiction ever written and put on screen. It deserves so much more than these cookie cutter graphics in 2024! This looks like the kind of game you play for 90mins just wishing there was more. Pretty unexciting to say the least.
Why not wait for actual gameplay footage before judging too soon?

The character models are rough. The graphics are ok... theres a point where the 'painterly' look gets in the way and just looks poor quality... not sure this one hit the mark.
