Childhood hero. Loved watching you as a youngster in the 80s. Thanks for the memories.

Aside from his achievements as an athlete, Steve is such a great commentator, easily my favourite to listen to. Really enjoyed listening to his insights here.

Great runner, Steve your times are still way up on the lists. Always great to hear you commentating. British 1500 guys are killing it as well as Laura Muir. Right now the top 6 British runners have run faster than fastest US 1500 runner this year(2022). Amazing.

Steve Cram was an amazingly talented athlete and often doesn’t get the props he deserved like Coe and Ovett. For commentary though, I personally think David Coleman was the best…..he brought races alive with his excitable commentary that kept building and building as the race went on.

Cram the Jarrow arrow Sunderland football supporter - So cool and down to earth. Watching Coe , Ovett and Cram really got me into watching middle distance athletics as a kid. He has to be the youngest looking 60 year old white man ive ever seen in my life and shows that participating in sport can keep you young. Im wondering if the small bottles in the cabinet behind Steve are filled with whiskey and rum :)

Steve Cram-----you're commentary of Daniel Komen race his Rieti Italy in 1996 is pretty laughable!
You said he was running "suicidally" according your calculations & strongly made the implication that he was a bit daft to run so wild & as you thought uncontrolled.
Soon thereafter you were made into a believer as his 7:20:67 is 25 years old now ( also his 7:24 indoors!)
Point being---if you pre-judge what an incredible athlete like Komen can accomplish----you end up with a bit of egg on your face!

I have given you a thumbs down, because you over hype Mo Farah. Sorry. I watched you race and win in my child hood. Even Daley Thompson, our double Olympic Decathlon champion and 4 times world record holder, critisised Mo in Autumn 2016, for not having any world records. He said Mo has as many Olympics Golds and Seb and He,( Daley Thompson), but where are the world records. yes he has set 2 at unusual distances, (2 miles and 1 hour), but no conventional distances. Mr Cram, even you set 5 world records. 1500m, 1 mile, 2000m, 4 by 800m and age 17 mile WR. How is a Decathlete supposed to win more than 1 gold in an Olymics? I could name several British athletes and Olympics Champions who are head and shoulders above Mo in achievement. eg David Hemery. World Record in the Olympics. Torvill and Dean. Won Gold in a WR. and I think Steve Ovett's achievements are higher than Mo's. He set 6 world records and won Olympic Gold and 45 consecutive wins. It didn't help him that he had Seb to beat who was equally good. Sebs achievements are much higher than Mo's. And many foreign athletes achievments totally outshine Mo's. eg Jan Zelezey. Sergie Bubka, Ed Moses etc.
Mo won 4 olympics golds, but he had no real threats. If he'd raced Haile Gebresalassie at his best, or Bekele, he would have been waisted. Bekele did beat him in the Great North in 2013 I think.

Mo wouldn't stand a chance against Bekele. He peaked at the right time in a weak era. He was running in the 2000s but no one even knew him.

Bitter.. he was racing the best of his era and beat them all even when they teamed up against him..

Steve, either learn to speak properly with actual words...
...or change your name to Steve Erm.
