There was some censorship regarding not letting the doctors spread info that's not confirmed by research, but overall they had to do the proper research and data collecting first. Even with all that, China implemented drastic measures a month and a half later since first contact with an unknown virus and flattened the curve fast. When human to human transmission was confirmed, they locked down all of Hubei (60 mill) just 2 days later and built 16 large hospitals within weeks. The west even criticized China of "Over reaction" and "Violation of human rights", now look. The world was still warned months in advance. South Korea saw what’s coming, was well prepared, and implemented similar measures that also allowed them to flatten the curve fast. Perhaps these so-called overreactions are why countries like China, South Korea, and Singapore can flatten their curve so fast and effectively. Some countries like the US saw what happened but did very little to prepare and actually wasted months!

@@zszs100 I didn't see people criticizing China for overreacting- in fact I saw them more get criticized for withholding information and seeming to bend testing standards and what defines an infected person. And even then, a reportedly 20k people have died mysteriously during this time and since there was no way to test why they died (virus or just awful health) China reported them as having no connection with the virus.
Also, for the numbers China reported the most they should've done was shut down the city and do heavy testing in Hubei aswell as restrict travel. Not shut down the entire province in general, shut down other provinces around Hubei, build 16 hospitals (which if you look up how they built the inside, you will see the rooms looked more like small capsules than an actual hospital bedroom) as well as call the military and straight up but a blockade on all roads. But we all know they probably lied about the number of infected and more people has most likely died in this time. There's a reason why their infected jumped from like 1k to 10k in a day because they finally decided to relieve the standards on what defines someone infected with the coronavirus.
Also also: There's been shown videos that people were turned away from hospitals when they presented symptoms of the virus. This was previously due to there being no testing kits but later on developed because of the government not wanting to report anymore numbers.

King Coco only if he would speak about the facts and truth about masks... rather than dissuade the general public with false sense of security like ignorant sheep.
@6:10 Dr. Mike still misses the LOGIC of “should” general public wear a mask 😷 in the event of a respiratory virus 🦠 pandemic. Rather jumps to EXCUSES simply to avoid FEAR of the FACTS. 🤦‍♂️🤯🙄 Whatever PPE is good for doctors is good for you - especially when you need to break social distancing (1-2m) and be around confirmed, suspect, unknown infected asymptomatic 🤒 people who may breath/cough/sneeze near you... or you to them. Regarding his Excuses:
      1) Shortage of masks - NOT on DIY masks, surgical or bandannas... they will provide some level of protection transmitting virus OUT. 🦠 Just Do Not Steal masks from Hospitals or hoard for resale! 🏥
      2) False sense of security - Illogical Double Speak FALSE 🤦‍♂️ !!! Saying asymptomatic people should NOT Wear A Mask creates the FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY and promotes the transmission of the virus into the environment and RAISES THE CURVE!
      3) Limited Research - NONSENSE. Read the research cited below in the comment! Use your brain 🧠, that’s why Doctors and Patients wear Mask! 😷 To prevent spread of infection, especially respiratory virus infections. 🦠
Someone needs to revoke this guys medical license for the continued false claims he makes only to “reduce panic/fear” of his followers. He SHOULD be empowering and educating them with the facts of REALITY 🌎 and SCIENCE 🧬 ! 👨‍🏫
      Reasons to wear a mask 😷 : 1) prevent/minimize exposure/transmission OUT TO the environment, 2) prevent/minimize infection IN FROM the environment, 3) prevent touching face/nose/mouth, 4) normalize wearing masks as a responsible citizen. Do your part #WearAMask #WashYourHands #WashYourClothes #StayHomeSaveLives #SocialDistancing #ZeroTrust #AssumeYouAreInfected
“Although surgical masks (and presumably DIY masks) are more leaky than N95 masks, randomized studies that have tracked infection rates have found that surgical masks are just as effective as N95 masks at preventing the transmission of viruses. Researchers don’t know the exact reason for this. However, some scientists hypothesize that masks help, in part, because they prevent us from touching our face. That helps keeps us from “planting” viruses our mouth, nose, and eyes.”

      smartairfilters.com/en/blog/category/masks/
ALSO MOST IMPORTANT to social distance, wash yourself and outside clothes, and follow proper mask and decontamination protocol (ie whenever returning home from outside/others)
Do not “wash” a mask: reduces their efficiency... best to just let them air out/dry for 24-48 hrs to let virus die out. Better choice to have a washable DIY surgical-like mask (instructions on UA-cam, elsewhere, convert a bra etc) to wear OVER an N95 to keep the N95 clean. IF you know the mask has been infected (coughed on) then probably need to dispose it, let dry out, maybe heat it. (Methods have not been tested)

Yesterday I was standing 2nd in line at the ATM. A woman at the ATM, wearing gloves and a surgical mask, complained to me for not keeping the right distance.
It was about 1,2m (4 feet). She was right so I backed away.
Then she stripped her glove down for whatever reason and punched her pin-number in. But the icing on the cake was when she LICKED her fingers so she could count the money easier.
I told her what she just did and that she shouldn't worry about distance if she keeps doing this and guess what, that's when she really got mad at me. Screaming at me that it's none of my business and to leave her alone.
Some people are just unbelievably stupid.

@Sayfullah borz. Washing hands is the most critical thing to prevent covid-19. unless someone coughs right in your face, the most common way to catch covid-19 is that someone left some virus on doorknobs/handles/elevator buttons, you touch it, then you touch your lips, nose or your eyes which, according to study, you do about a dozen times every hour without you even aware of it. wear a mask and a pair of glasses to keep you safe outdoor. wash your hands as soon as you are home.

How come it hit AMERICA SO MUCH HARDER than ALL the other countries especially the death rate? Could it be possible that it actually originated in the US, spreading this whole time while people were not tested? This time around the flu was exceptionally bad and more people died classified under “flu”. It’s a confirmed fact that some people who died last year due to the flu was later found that it was by this virus. The CDC refuses to release when the earliest known death is. Suspicious, let’s not forget during the H1N1, it was found after the fact that the CDC was hiding the infected by the millions. It has been said that it started in New York and a Chinese person from Wuhan spread it after returning home. I'm not reaching any conclusions; I'm just asking the right questions and want CDC to BE TRANSPARENT. RELEASE THAT INFO!

The "limit the news" tip is such an important one. I used to be on my phone checking the news 24/7, and it did nothing but cause me stress and anxiety. After I just "limited the news" I was more productive, the anxiety and stress I had felt then has diminished greatly, and despite the fact that I'm not staring at the news constantly, I feel like I am even more aware about everything thing going on (the virus, etc.) after I just limited the news.

The CDC is currently considering advising the public to wear masks when they go out in an attempt to prevent asymptomatic transmission. Personally, I believe the benefits outweigh the risks. We shouldn't be wearing N95 masks, or trying to obtain surgical masks (though if you have them, use them), but even cloth masks help prevent spread. I think we owe it to the grocery store workers forced to risk exposure to do what we can to protect them and others.

About the "airbone" topic: I'm no doctor or virologist, but as a fluid dynamic engineer, I can garentee you if someone tell you the droplets can only travel 1 or 2 meters, they are 100% wrong. When the droplets get small enough, they can float in the air for hours and travel very far. They are called aerosol because they act just like gas (forg is an example). So just dismiss the possiblity that the virus can airbone is inresponsible, and I personally feel it can explain some contaminate that seems random. Remeber: "We don't have evidence" doesn't mean it's not ture, it just means we don't know yet.

    • @yeetyeey5407
      @yeetyeey5407 4 роки тому +6

Oscar Shen I’m pretty sure airborne means aerosolized, and based on the preliminary research, the virus is not aerosolized when it spreads through respiratory droplets. But I agree that it’s pretty irresponsible to ignore the possibility that It may be aerosolized and airborne.

Actually you can find on Harvard Med School have an article said that the virus can stay in the air for 3 hours in some conditions and the supporting paper has been published on New England Journal of Medicine mid March. So it can happened. And from scientist perspective, a really fine mist droplet do have the chance stay in the air for a period of time. Smoke could be a good example since virus could be also considered as some forma of oil droplets. And 17 years ago, there is a super SARS spreading case in HK cause by airborne. No evidence doesn’t mean it’s not true.
Some of these KOL doctors really need to do their reading.
