    I don’t comment on videos much, but just wanted to say I enjoy these reviews. As an aspiring airline pilot it is hard to find good reviews on products like these. Keep up the good work!

      @@CaptainRod Currently, I only have my PPL, but look to receive my FW Instrument and Commercial rating upon graduation from flight school. My goal is to hit the airlines in 2-3 years.

    I have a Briggs and Riley 22inch domestic 2 wheel expandable suitor . The design, with the expansion, Is amazing. My issue, Is the lining inside is just a regular lining. The other issue is no inline skate bearings , just cheaper wheels. The interior lining wont hold up to a pilots use, or frequent packing. I love the bag, but the durability is just not there. Sure, there is a warranty. It sucks, having to get stuff repaired. I am back to Luggage works Premier 22 with the expandable suitor .

    Another great review, Rod. Looks like those luggage works bags are pretty impressive. Can’t wait to see more reviews

    I thoroughly enjoyed the details and clarity of your review. I'm not a pilot...but I assure you that frequent-flyer engineers have much in common with you all! I have been using a Tumi ballistic nylon bag of similar size since 2010 with almost weekly use (many short flights and frequent hotel changes). The Tumi has held up extremely well. I've replaced the handle once...probably due to over-packing...but it was replaced under warranty. The Tumi is at the end of it's useful life and I began searching for a replacement today. I am not as impressed with the durability/value ratio for Tumi here in 2022 and I certainly will only consider 2-wheel options based on physics and functionality. My search sent me in the direction of the very bags you reviewed! I am now down to the "widebody" Briggs & Riley vs Luggage Works. I am a little concerned about the extra fiddling that is required for all the LW pouches but, you're right, it's a tool and GOOD tools become second nature. All the best and THANK YOU SIR.

    Great video! Will the 19” international fit vertically in the luggage container. The new 737-800 Space Bin since it’s 15” wide vs 14”? Thanks.

    Thank you for this excellent video. I don’t understand the dimensions on the carbon bag being the same as the 737 bag. Don’t the side pouches make it considerably wider?

    Great review. Few people have covered the B&R carry-on side-by-side in the domestic and international versions.
    Do mind elaborating more on why you use the domestic (“NB”) in the summer and the international (“WB”) in the winter?
    When you’ve been a passenger on other airlines, have you found any drawback to using one or the other? Any problems carry them on overseas? Which dimensions do you prefer?

      Thank you for engaging and sharing your thoughts! The primary reason for switching bags during the year is simply to use the bag that has the most correct volumetric capacity to get the mission done. Additionally, by using 2, when one breaks, I'll activate the backup in the meantime.
      The main difference between the bags is the width. I have never come across any issues using one vs the other.
      There are countries that limit the weight of the overhead bag, so depending on how you pack and where you are, a fully loaded carry-on bag will not be allowed in the overhead.
      I personally enjoy both bags, and I cannot say I prefer one over the other. Both do a better job than the other depending on the time of the year!

      @@CaptainRod Here’s a follow up question. If you had to get just one, which would you get and why?

    • @CaptainRod
      @CaptainRod  2 роки тому +2

      It depends on your lifestyle. For me, it would have to be the wide-body. During winter time, all the winter clothing take a up a lot of room in the bag!

    Thanks for your review! Couple questions:
    Looking at the Briggs and Riley NB for the warranty. You pay the premium upfront, but hope it would last for years. Do this bag fit in the 737 cockpit?
    Oddly, I don't see the LW 2.0 on the site. Did they take it down or rename it?
    What are your thoughts on LW 22" Stealth for $359?

    • @CaptainRod
      @CaptainRod  2 роки тому +1

      The narrow-body Briggs does fit the 737 flight deck. As fas as the LW 2.0 is concerned, you would be correct, they did take it down. Maybe it was a limited run product or simply did not have the sales volume to justify continuing production... They seem to have just launched the Maverick, with leather add-ons for durability.
      For the 737, if you are considering the LW 22", and your company has the a culture where both pilots place their bags in the flight deck, then you have to purchase the LW 22" 737 version (no side pockets). As far as the bag itself, they do have a great reputation in the industry for durability. That being said, the Briggs and LW are very different products. I hope that helps!

      I have operated aircraft from all major manufactures, it may not be to your liking, but it is an outstanding aircraft.
