I've been told by seat that it's £200+ to replace my battery and have the required coding done. I've changed batteries a few times, pretty straightforward but do you know of any coding required for the vehicle after a battery change? First I've ever heard of it.
If you change to a different style battery from AGM to EFB or vice versa it needs to be coded in so the battery is charged correctly. Will still probably work fine without but might affect the life span of the battery if not coded correctly.
What about car alarm and radio code? Always concerned that reconnecting won’t automatically make these work. Do you still need a 12volt auxiliary feed to protect codes???
Hello. Would you recommend to disconnect my battery on my Leon Fr 2017 (it’s stop/start) since I won’t be driving it for 4 months? Will it effect anything when I come to drive it again? Thank you
There shouldn't be any need to disconnect it, but if you do then you may get a few warning lights when the car is started back up. In our experience these go away after a few hundred metres of driving the car. We would recommend a battery charger over disconnecting the battery.
Tools used:
-10mm Socket & Ratchet: amzn.to/2NWrfON
-13mm Socket & Ratchet / Extension: amzn.to/3luPyQv
Thank you for the tutorial. Often seems very straight forward but always nice to check before doing it yourself!
You should remove the negative lead first and connect it last when refitting.
Kesinlikle katılıyorum. Önce negatif daha sonra pozitif çıkarılmalı

No. What happened?

I did that, and now my steering wheel controls don’t work, only the horn. What should I do?

On our vehicle there were no codes required when the battery was re-connected, we haven't seen any Leon Mk3's that required a code.
Do you have get Seat to reprogram ecm as a new battery is put in
When we did this swap, there was no reprogramming required.

No, not for 1 - 2 weeks, maybe for longer periods.
