This is so freaking awesome! Do you know how many people who will never have the opportunity to hike the Appalachian Trail will now be able to live vicariously through your experience and subsequent video? This is something you can talk about forever. And the end was perfect. It brought a tear to my eye.
All these years later and I still recognize so many of those unmarked places. You’ll cherish those memories for life. Congrats brother. HoldOn NOBO ‘07
I've been reading "A Walk in the Woods" and was really surprised at the number of bears you saw. Thank you so much for these images, now I can imagine it so much better.
I Came across this via being posted to the Daily Mail. What an accomplishment. This is so much to be proud of as an accomplishment in life. I barely made it from the parking log lot to Clingmans dome. :D
In 1974 my wife, and I and our dog Galactus hiked the trail from Cumberland Gap to the White Rocks overlook above Ewing Va., on our honeymoon. You managed to capture two views from our hike in your hike at about 1:36-37. Thanks.
Beautiful video to remember such a life-changing journey. Oh man, watching this brought back so many fond memories. Cherish those moments. - Poppins, GAME 09
Congratulations! What a cool perspective on what must be such an amazing personal accomplishment. Incredible scenery and I feel like I have walked it myself.
WooooW! Hit me right in the feels, whydontcha! Seriously, great video, brings back some of the best days and nights of my life. Never did the AT whole, but hiked the NE 100 highest any season, and the NH 4K in winter. Thanks!
Very good job of image capture and edit. You also have good composition sense. What’s next ? PCT ? good luck. GoPro 10 looks like a decent asset now for trail capture.
An AMAZING video! I am super jealous & have SUCH wanderlust right now. You had some pretty epic animal encounters! Such a dream to hike the AT. Thanks so much for sharing. So, after hiking it all, what's your favorite state?
@@The_Mountain_Nomad They're called sister states for a reason. Similarly beautiful places for sure! It feels like, to me, the White Fountains of NH may have a bit more of the rugged beauty than the peaceful beauty of the Green Mountain's.
Nice! Did you have any troubles with those bears and did I see a brown bear!? This is the main reason I'm afraid to walk something like this. getting attacked by a bear especially while sleeping or something.
I did have a bear steal my food one night (it was hung properly). The bear in the video that appears brown is actually still a black bear. That bear was at a zoo in New York, which the trail walks through.
They won’t attack. I’ve camped all over New England and ran into these Black Bears often. They only want food and as long as you have none in the tent or shelter they won’t bother you. Hanging the food or putting it in the bear proof food lockers (not all all trail sites) will dissuade the bears and they will leave you alone. There is always bear spray.
Very touching; this is a masterpiece of a video as well as a stunning achievement overall. Congrats and thank you for sharing.
