I made this cake today, it was amazing, except I didnt have cream cheese and cream, so I made a condensed milk buttercream. I made this for my brothers birthday and it was amazing. It took a while to make but definitely worth it.. Will definitely make it again

Then once its creamy u add the condense milk that came right out of the fridge...i put it a day before. Then obiviously ur gonna mix it together, till its buttercream consistency. Since this was a coffee cake i added coffee, so water and coffee, add it and ur done......u can search youtube, for this i believe butter and condensemilk buttercream
I tried making this today! The cake was amazing but I kind of failed on the icing. I probably should have let the cream cheese warm up to room temperature completely, but I was being impatient so it ended up lumpy :'( The cake itself was really good though! It tasted like the coffee roll cakes I ate when I was younger~ One thing I changed was that I used white vinegar instead of cream of tartar since I didn't have any and someone else in the comments noted that it can be used as a replacement. I also used a toaster oven with a bake setting instead of a full size oven lol Absolutely recommend trying this recipe! Or the cake at the very least. Thank you for the recipe!

If you’re impatient I recommend putting it in the microwave for a few seconds just enough to soften it but not melt it! I always do this and it’s never failed me!
The softest cake I've made to this day. It had mild sweetness and had the perfect coffee flavour ❤. 10/10 recommended. I had a smaller baking tray so I just cut the recipe half and baked in 3 batches. It was wonderful 👍

I made a slight modification while baking I used baking soda along with baking powder and used vinegar instead of cream of tartar. I also used Swiss butter cream as I didn't have cream cheese.

The cake was delicious! I didn't make the icing, but replaced it with storebought buttercream mixed with one tablespoon of coffee. The cake itself was so soft and fluffy, but the coffee taste wasn't very strong, so the icing has to make up for that. I also sprinkled crushed almonds on top, and it's so good with that bit of crunch! My mum said it was the best chiffon cake, thank you so much for this recipe!
Hi I made this just today (half recipe) and its super delicious! I just added another 1 tbsp of instant coffee into the cake mixture and placed cashews on top of the cake to make it a Nutty Coffee cake! Thank you for the recipe! 😊
Tried it today! And the cake is super duper delicious even on it’s own! I substituted the 1/4 cup milk and 1/4 oil with 1/2 cup of cream (made the half sized version) and it was just as light and delicious. Cream cheese was a little bit salty but that may be because of me. Overall, will definitely make this again.
The best sponge cake I’ve ever made! Super soft and spongy. I used an 8x8 square pan for half recipe and also used a water bath. Baked for 35 min at 180c. However, my frosting didn’t turn out as thick as yours. Would try this with some other frosting recipe next time.

When I combined everything, I could feel the cake mixture became dense and difficult to stir thoroughly. I think the correct way is by using spoon to measure both coffee powder and water.

I'm a beginner in making desserts..but if I could do this recipe-- anyone can!!🎉 Yes I messed up with the meringue bit😅 (Mine's had more of a bubblebath kind of texture/feel..) so instead of the cake being real fluffly.. Mine's ended up with a mudcake kind of texture.. which still tasted really good!💃 I made this cake for my husband's bday and he isn't a fan of cream cheese..so we replaced the frosting with salted caramel buttercream instead and combined with the coffee cake it's pretty good👍 My advice for my fellow beginners: try doing the half size portion first 👍 it's enough for 2-3 people and you still hv enough for leftover!
