The rut is all about timing... Right time, right spot, or bust. Join Dan as he hunts for the right buck in Wisconsin during rutting phases and explains the process.
Like what I'm seeing here, subscribed. I spilled out my cup of knowledge Dan, filling it up with your for a while. I like your intensity and logical way of dissecting and all out blitzing for the conquer, otherwise probably ain't happening. Obviously motivational kick for me for more intensity. I'm 60 right now your making climb rungs more intensely on my ladder of more fame. Appreciate what your trying to share, with your beloved neighbors
Real hunting in real places that I can relate to as a big woods public land hunter myself. Great way to keep at it. Another reminder, bowhunting is tough. It’s supposed to be. Keep grinding away at those bucks Dan and I’ll keep smashing that like button.
Dan I seen my first 10 pnt public land yesterday made sure since I didn’t have a shot not to spook , used everything I learned from you, and my late father. Hopefully I can get back in there and finish the job. Thanks for all the knowledge!
Man the suspense is killing me! I keep thinking alright this is the video Dan gets him another one. Regardless these videos are fun to watch and learn from.
Great find After the season ends and the snow starts coming off get back in there and match that shed up ....that's awesome I love shed hunting probably more than hunting deer lol true story
Just wounded a big 9 earlier this week. I was beyond sick about it. Wanted to throw in the towel when I went back and watched your success and agony video. Def inspired me to get back out there and get it done
Man ive lost 2..both mature an one was a monster 9..both public..i still go back an walk an look cause i have yet to see him on a camera again an i know i had to have shot him good
Man, I watched a buck for 6 months this year on my property and had only one opportunity at him with my recurve. It meant alot to me and I wounded him. I was freaking crushed by it. But I have been out there getting after it almost everyday. Just gotta keep hunting and get better.
@@dayofbattle man i respect that 💯. I use a crossbow but am transitioning to recurve next year..i watched my buck for prob 6 or 7 months too. I aint gonna lie, crushed is a good way to describe it
Rut where I hunt in PA, is pretty heated around 1st, 2nd week November, I drive truck, and I noticed a habit deer start getting hit on the roads when rut begins, I’ve picked up a few deer from the road that we’re just hit, nothing like driving down the road with a deer strapped to a big rig.
Hello Dan and the other guys. Dan i got a question for you. Im disabled and can't walk far maybe 50 yards. I have to use a cane to walk with. And i hunt public land. What is your thoughts on how i can kill a deer since i can't walk far. Im in south Carolina.
I shot a big buck yesterday afternoon and tracked him most of the day and blood stopped and couldn't find him even got a dog. Pretty sure I got liver should be dead. I'm gonnagrid search tomorrow..freaking bummed 😕
Keep your head up and your eyes wide open. Go in the thickets and look near the water. Liver shot or gut shot head for water to cool them down as they get sick. Go find it and good luck.
You wouldn't know what to do if you didn't have to hunt the wind if you could just put on scent lock and go in there and hunt be a hell of a lot better wouldn't it that's what I've done and it's really increased my success as far as seeing animals just got to be the right one before I'm going to shoot it
I absolutely love Dan's content but I've noticed he's not the best shot. Lots of spine shots and it looks like he hit that first buck square in the face
Watching hunting/kill videos is fun … but learning from Dan is priceless !!!
When Dan says giant poopies, he means it!

More truth from Dan! We have to remember our hunts aren’t a 20 minute video like we watch on UA-cam. Enjoy the outdoors and learn. Thanks Dan
You'd think after a lifetime of passionate deer hunting, we'd have this figured out to the second! 😆

Dan's videos are awesome! Only guy I can stand to watch
Can't help but feel cheated. Was unusually warm here through the 10th, now cold wind since the 13th..
this is taking me a few days to get through but it's better than anything on TV
The way you process a situation is like watching Tom Brady pick apart a defense.
Great video Dan good luck gun hunting this year .Be looking forward to That video.
Just ask Josh he'll tell u what to do.lol

Hoping you don't tag out in Wisconsin until the last day of late season so we can keep watching videos like these! 👍👍
I appreciate you for what you do good job brother many of you really nice to meet some of the people on here that I trust for advice

Ya most vehicle and deer accidents r during that time of year when rut is going on, pretty much all of November hafta keep your head on a swivel,
Once velvet sheds, they are ready to breed!!!!!!!!!!!! 😮
Keep grinding Dan !
Ours is Nov 8-10 till the end of the month. 1st super cold day kicks them into gear.
Timing for me is when to move spots. Just when I’m about to something always occurs to stop me. Deer activity picks up for a bit.
👍🏻👍🏻
Are you having issues with your bows Dan? I see you have swapped a few times between your two bows.
Yea, having some issues with my rest on the prime. Going to swap it out when I get a chance.

I kill a lot of deer near parking lots and road side where other hunters over look... good luck, and keep at it.

Please get a better camera. Love the content but I think you could get better footage from a phone.
Still don’t know what the term lockdown means
It’s a phase of the rut when bucks are sticking close to does to eventually breed them.
@@maxpower1399 sounds academic, at the end of the day I’m still giving bucks some dirt naps

You always talk so loud when your hunting
You talk more than you hunt!!

Dear Santa. Please bring Dan a muffler for his truck. It has been loud for a long time. Thanks.
How do tactics change with deep snow? Food sources, travel routes and bedding all changes now ?
