Hey smashy, For pom pom's shell sprites, you ad her behavier from SM3DL. If you don't know, In 3D land, pom pom doesn't have the teleporting ability and instead gets into her shell, fly above mario, and ground pound (in 3D land, pom pom also has a boomerang instead of the shuriken).
PomPom does go in her shell in Mario 3D Land, but instead of spinning around, she kinda floats in the air for a bit and slams down to try and hit the player, I'd recommend adding that
Maybe have 2 versions of Pom Pom, the one from 3DW and the one from 3DL that throws boomerangs and goes into her shell. Also could do the same for Boom Boom and add a variation which goes into his shell and turns invisible just like the 3DW one.
you could give pom pom her super mario 3d land power where she jumps above the player and then slams down and that a couple of times. This happens when she gets hit. Also you should make a new power up. Maby some kind of lightning power up dropped by the lakithunder
I know when idea for pom poms shell in 6:51 It should be like her move sets from super Mario 3D land where if you hit her she will fly up and try to hit the player on the head.
I would like it if you added In different course styles like desert, sky, underground, haunted house, castle, airship, underwater, forest/jungle and snow. You could also add in styles that haven't been added in yet to Mario maker such as tropical, volcanic, mountain, haunted house outside and different types of under ground themes too.
This game is looking really great so far! If there is one thing that i would suggest to add is fuzzies. Both the black and red variant. I think it would be a cool enemy and not too hard to add :)

Maybe you could make a giant living pile of drybones that chase you and throw things like theyr shels bones heads and other stuff and to defeat it you need to grab an item they hold and the throw it back at them.
before adding more stuff I think you should make everything in MM2! I know that would take a while but it would be out of the way! but for new stuff, you should add the gold flower from NSMB2 and something big! that being Flood, Cappy and the spin jump from Mario Galaxy! but make them that you can only be one at a time because having flood the spin jump and cappy at the same time would be a bit op! yep i still have more lol. on off snake blocks so if its on it moves but if its off then it stops. Kirby! so like it can swallow, spit and for some enemies get their power and if you press a button it goes away. Penguin Mario More characters like peach and other coloured toads for example Homing Banzai bulls Star coins so for if you remake super worlds if you collects a certain amount you can get to levels or if you get all you could go to a secret world! lighting strikes maybe. so its like lava bubble and you can place where they appear and you can add a warning if its coming or just make it shoot down without a warning. also a tower theme, so like from the NSMB series. ok lol if you want more ideas get this comment to 10 likes! or i might just come back to this comment randomly. ... oh and blue shell from NSMB lol
Pretty cool. I'd touch up the death animations on Dry Bowser and Jr. I'm also curious as to what the animation looks like when you jump on the false Pom Pom. As for what bosses you should add next, NSMBU boss abilities. Lemmy has bombs, Morton has a giant mallet, Larry has magic fireballs that home at you and bounce off walls, Wendy can throw rings that freeze the player, Iggy walks on walls/ceilings, Roy has a cannon blaster, and Ludwig can multiply up to 5. It would also be cool of you created Kamek. If you made Kamek, allow him to turn the arena into different world themes (ex: Snow - Grass)
Is the NSMBU style coming back for your fangame and if so is it getting the same 2d pre rendered sprite treatment from mario maker, or 3d animation like the original game
Well, it's actually better to use sprites It looks ugly but it's the best option to reduce lag And it's been some months Smashy doesn't post on the fangame announcement channel I think
You could implement that one attack she uses in Super Mario 3D Land that happens every time you hit her, however, you could simply add it as an extra attack (since you already added transitions between her phases). 1:01 Ngl, it would be sick for Bowser to make a fire wall as an ability so you'll have to jump over it. And for the Pom Pom shell, you could make one of the clones turn into its shell form and chase Mario while he tries to jump on the real one. On the other hand though, you could just make her do the shell slam she does in 3D Land.
2 ideas I have: Rotating hills, being the ones in NSMB Wii, and Negitive blocks, which would delete parts of objects they overlap with. This could be used to hollow out certain parts of objects (like part of the hill!)
i always wondered why the visuals looked a bit off in this demo compared to the actual game then i realized: there’s no shadows! i know its just a little thing, but i think adding them would really make everything pop
In general, i feel like all of the gimmivks should have some toggle feature. Like with the Dry Jr. shell fire, it would be cool so that it is usable in more varieties of situations.

Fun Fact: To defeat the real pom pom in super mario bros. 8-bit would be the part of her head which has a green part and that her clones have them so it becomes more difficult to defeat her
In 3d land, Pom-Pom goes into her shell when hit and attempts to float over Mario and kind of ground bound on to Mario, you can find it on yt if you don’t understand my scum description lol. With that shell sprite, I would be cool for Boom-Boom to have a shell attack as well, if you plan to have Bosses to have customizable move sets in the future anyways.
I think you should add a little knockback to the bosses, just like in SMM2, so the player cannot just tank it and skip the whole battle if it is, for example, a classic Bowser battle with the bridge and the axe lso, it would be absolutely great if you made a Bowser Jr variant wearing the mask that acts just like in NSMBDS, hiding in his shell when a player is above him and throwing koopa shells to attack him

It would be cool if Pom Pom could have that feature if for example wings were put on her. You could also make her break brick blocks when she's crushing down in her shell, that would add a new interesting mechanic. If she is out of her shell she would jump like in SMM2 when she's throwing her shuriken and still teleport around if she doesn't get hit.

I have an idea for a boss fight using a Mario kart tour character Gold Dry Bowser Attacks: Gold Fire (Acts like the golden fire flower in NSMB2 including turning bricks into coins) Gold Bones (Just Like Regular bones but get thrown faster) Finally a Ground Pound Attack just like smb3 I decided this attack because gold is heavy (🤯) (Might add more ideas to this comment) A Yoshi Boss Fight Moves: Stampede Pretty Mush Yoshi's Final Smash (insert fact that Yoshi's Final Smash was based off the Smash Melee intro) but less powerful and less Yoshi's Egg throw An Extra Long Flutter Jump ( Based of the blue shell Yoshi eats) Super Ground Pound ( Based on the Yellow Shell Yoshi Eats Fire (Based of the Red shell Yoshi eats)
I definitely agree, @MarioAndSonix! That would be an awesome idea! Maybe there can be a toggle for both Boom Boom and Pom Pom to switch their behaviors. For instance, there could be a toggle with Boom Boom to either keep his behaviors in Super Mario Bros. 3, or replicate his behaviors in New Super Mario Bros. U where he jumps around. There could even be an option to give him his behaviors in Super Mario 3D Land and 3D World, in which he spins around, goes invisible, clones himself, or creates a fire trail, etc. The same could apply with Pom Pom, where the player could choose to either keep her behaviors in Super Mario 3D World (where she teleports, clones herself and throws shurikens,) or change her behaviors to how it was in Super Mario 3D Land (where she jumps around and throws shurikens, trying to attack and crush the player with her shell when she gets hit.) Maybe there could also be similar options for each of the Koopalings, too!

Tbh I think when placing Bowser you should have a menu with a list of attacks you want to enable or not

I think you should make cooler sprites for like bowser, bowser jr, boom boom, and the koopalings.
It would be cool for there to be the Mega Mushroom, Mini Mushroom, and the Blue Shell from NSMB1.

Doesn't Bowser throw hammers? You could've added that, and then just made Dry Bowser a reskin of Bowser.
You know what I really want to see? A skull coaster like from New Super Mario Bros Wii level 8-7
