Looking at the Audio repeatedly, this actually is coming from the game as a bug. If you’ve notice the tire screeching noise from the AI chasing him, it got stuck and that is most likely the culprit for the train noise, this also lines up with the player turning fast in the tunnel (Ambience in those area have an interesting effect and the AI somehow triggered the same Ambience reverb). More than too much stuff going on i think is an audio piece that it was supposed to play after an specific action like on TM1 but it was cut out for some reason, but not completely erased and the command wasn't eliminated fully so it may be a really specific action that triggers the audio

On that note, Bring back in game cutscenes from Black in which they explain each driver's backstory for entering the tournament. It would also be neat if the drivers cutscenes & ending was told in a different artstyle similar to the Netflix Science fiction horror anthology series, Love Death and Robots 7. me and my dad and big brother wore out the old demo disc that had it and others... Too late to start over, so I had to wait until I got home from school to do it again and finally see the first ending for the game
After hearing the audio glitch, the only thing I can think of is that maybe it's an unused file on the disc, developers tend to leave a lot of that in most games that release, dataminers find all kinds of crazy things, and maybe some kind of damage to the disc, or an installation having some kind of data corruption could cause that to trigger an unused audio file? I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, just speculating and brainstorming, ha ha. Still, really interesting that something like that could crop up, I've never experienced something like that.
Yeah most games have unused audio files in them and it does sound like an audio file that was supposed be in a cut scene or something like that. The question is how it gets triggered. It's unlikely "completely random", something in the code is triggering it.
That audio glitch is pretty interesting. The way it happened sounded like a gunshot at first, then escalated into what sounded like a train in motion. It made me think of how crazy it would be if Twisted Metal made a boss fight where you fought a train. I know it sounds lacking given the last game had monster trucks, a mech, and Sweet Tooth's carnival as boss fights, but I stand by the notion it would be a sick battle.
They recorded a bunch of audios for this game that never saw the light of day the player triggered one that was worked on and not finished theres suppose to be more
So, after looking at the videos of the sound glitch I noted a couple things. First, it's super rare, with only a few videos of it existing, and second is that the sound played is different in each instance. I think what could be happening in the case of Cuzzy's video is there's some damage on the disc and it caused a lookup error, because it's playing the wrong audio and skipping badly but other sounds do play normally, which is an error I've seen happen a number of times. LuisParson's video, if it were just a lookup error it wouldn't cause all other sounds to just cut out and then fade back in when the clip is done playing. The only way to know for sure would be to go into the files and see if somebody can find the audio in question, but I personally don't believe it's real.
Thank you for keeping the love for this game going! It is one of my favorite sagas of all time. I hope the new game goes back to the horror roots and the psychologically unhinged and not the "comedic" approach that TV show will approach.
I would imagine that on the off-chance this was an intentional thing, it'd just run on a simple chance code (I know little about coding, I'm sure someone knows the proper name for this) where it selects a number between 1 and 200, for example, and if it hits the specific number it then does a 'rare' action. I doubt this is what's causing it, but it would be funny if they snuck in something creepy with a ridiculously low chance of happening.
This was a good watch. I've never known/experienced this glitch in the 2012 game. Pretty spooky Though I do recall the menu music for Head on not coming on multiple times for me and always found that kinda odd lol. Good work my dude! I always get excited about a new TM related video!
I don't believe it's a glitch. It's sweet tooth having a ptsd episode. His skull is on fire cause there is a bullet lodge into his brain. With his skull cracked open and fresh air hitting his wounds he feels like he is eternally on fire. All of Twisted Metal takes place in his mind as he run away from the pain and his dying body.
I may not be a game developer, but I am a professional programmer. People don't realize it, but exceptions occur a lot in programs that you use every day. However, they often times don't result in the the program crashing or giving you any indication of what happened. If they're minor enough, the end user will never even know it happened. My best guess is that there's some kind of general audio error handler in TM2012 that gets triggered when anything bad happens to the audio that isn't easily recoverable. They might have done this for player comfort, just in case junk data is getting processed as audio - and trust me, junk data being played as audio can be very bad for your ears. Noise like that can sometimes cause problems in people with epilepsy, so this could be a measure for player safety as well. The reason I think this is the case is because the audio fades back in after whatever that sound was plays. So my guess is that it reaches some kind of point where it doesn't know if real audio is playing, so it mutes everything, fixes all of the sounds that are supposed to be playing, and fades back in. My guess for why that audio continues to play while everything else is muted could be due to a few possibilities. 1) The developers put in that sound to know that this "general audio error" was triggered, and forgot to remove it, 2) The developers knew that it sounded kind of weird and ominous so they left it in as an Easter Egg for players that bug out the audio, or 3) this is an incidental issue that plays some random audio file by mistake instead of being totally silent. I would honestly bank on option number 1, because TM2012 had a notably tumultuous development cycle. It could just be that they had to test all the new story content to make sure that it works, that they forgot/missed this audio error handler. If this is the case, even an overheating PS3 or a dirty or scratched disc could make this glitch more prevalent. But without seeing the conditions that the people playing were in at the time, I wouldn't be able to tell for sure. But it does at least give us a place to start looking if we really wanted to figure out what causes this bug.
After reading further, I found out that the audio is different every time this happens. To update the theory, this could also be some ambient noise that's layered into the audio that doesn't get muted by the proposed error handler - in the Road Boat clip, I noticed a noise as one of the cars approached the player, so maybe this part of the audio that plays to give approaching vehicles that "Doppler Effect" of actually making enemies sound like they're approaching and then passing you. What's more is there's a kind of "ringing" sound as the player enters the tunnel, which makes me think this is a layer of audio used for distortions that give the sense of the player being in a certain location - for instance, causing the sound to have a kind of echoey reverb when in a tunnel. The steady chugging noise in the background after leaving could have been some ambient noise being fed through this "distortion" - Watkyns Harbor, I think, is supposed to have some kind of machinery in it somewhere so I don't think it's too unreasonable to think this audio could be some very low-level audio that's already there, but you just don't notice it because other sounds are meant to be layered on top of it like engine noise and music.
I felt Black was it's downfall with 2 and 3 it had goofy feel to it along with violence gore and chaos. I felt like they should have gone more borderlands route more brutality while keeping it's goofy atmosphere. Cause let's be honest some of the endings are hilarious.
My copy of twisted metal black I never finished. Everytime I tried to fight the helicopter, my screen would go... black. I could hear the game... just couldn’t see anything.
The way you explained the glitched audio being in a loop why would the reverb resonate? This isn’t a broken audio clip this is a recorded clip Everything you heard was a recorded clip, it was insanely clear and I heard no looping and heard the reverb resonate which tells me that the reverb is flat with audio coming through so it leads me to believe the clip is a simple spooky recording that isn’t meant to be there
With how violent and aggressive society is becoming, especially those keyboard warriors and angry comments on UA-cam, bringing back twisted metal only makes sense.
Sounds like a broken announcer audio file that was never coded out. Most announcer events are coded to muffle all other sounds to either tell the player of the timer or an objective is active. The sound you're most likely hearing is iether a temp audio file for testing or a backdrop beat that is to be played along with an annoucer clip. Heck even the audio glitch itself has a fadeout effect to bring back all the gameplay audio.
Oh man. I had no clue what this video was about but when I herd that sound I instantly remembered it. I was playing on a rental copy (boy i miss being able to rent a game) and it happened to me more then once. Honestly never knew it was a glitch. I always thought it was some wired event sound. Like I failed an objective or it was just me and one enemy left. But I could never figure out what the event was. So long ago I can't really say I remember it all that well. But I remembered that sound and thinking it was pretty intense for a event notification back then.
I have had that glitch once on the New York City level I had my own music playing with the game sound balanced out and I it was the speaker of on television
I think it might just be too much audio all at once. The beginning sounds like blown speakers and the rest sound like it's underwater. It also doesn't take long for the audio to revert back to normal. It could also be that the game was pushing the hardware to it's limit causing sound issues. This game did come just a year before the PS4.
It always seemed to happen when there was a lot of action happening on the screen in online games. I don’t ever recalling that it happened in single player.
It probably was added as a sound that plays when it miss reads the sound that should play so it adds a distortion echo to hide the fact or it was a random sound Easter egg that has multiple ways to get it to happen
Only game I ever knew that had some audio like this was Minecraft with the your in or near a cave sound. But it wasn’t a glitch but intentional. The glitch sounds really Intentional, cause all other audio goes out.
First and foremost I want to apologize for any unusual grammar or spelling errors. I have to use voice-to-text for this as I have psoriatic arthritis and typing out something is painful sometimes especially during the cold months. Secondly I'm using my phone since I don't have a computer at the current moment. I see that you used my clip of Mr Grimm going through the wall and Twisted Metal black. I'm not really claiming ownership of the clip since it was just 11 seconds and I did accidentally make it public because I was saving it for something else that I never got a chance to do due to the fact that my computer died but that's besides the point. I was looking to recreate a glitch that I experienced and Twisted Metal black on the PlayStation 2. The clip is from the PlayStation 4 re-release version of the game. I was playing one time when the game was new. I was playing as Mr Grimm and I drove up that wall and I ended up becoming out of bounds in a very peculiar way meaning that I can drive up into the sky nearly indefinitely. I was able to maneuver a little bit based arounddifferent things I did. I landed back on the ground when I jumped. I can honestly say after multiple attempts I was not able to recreate it. The most I was able to do is just go through the wall. I don't know why but I was only ever able to do this once and I don't really remember what the circumstance was that allowed me to fly into the air while riding up that wall. But I do know of three other glitches that happened in the Twisted Metal franchise one of them being a sound of glitch. Surprisingly enough, I've only seen these glitches happen on a PlayStation 2 slim. In Twisted Metal Small brawl, sometimes the soundtrack for level one and the soundtrack for the final level will not play. It might happen to other levels but it's more than likely to happen with those in particular. This is the more common of the three glitches. With the less level sometimes the audio will play but you take too long it'll just stop. The second glitch I know about also occurs in Twisted Metal Small brawl. This one I have no idea what the circumstances are which caused this and I've only ever been able to do this twice. I spoke to other people amongst my friends who would enjoy twisting metal and have said that they've had similar experiences. Once again, I must reiterate I don't know what the circumstances are that causes and I've been trying multiple times to recreate it but like I said I've only been able to do this twice. I did it once with shadow and once with Axel. For some reason under certain circumstances all the weapons during a match will malfunction and will no longer be useful. You will hear the sound effect of them going off but they will not work and nothing will show up on the screen. The only weapon that becomes usable is the special weapon. When this happens, the effect for the special weapon will happen rapidly and multiple times cluttering up the screen as if you were pressing the button to fire the special weapon button rapidly. The sound will not stop playing until all occurrences of the animation are finished. Once that happens although it will say that you still have special weapon available you won't be able to use it for quite some time. You'll just end up driving around aimlessly until it activates again. The weird thing is not all them damage. Even if it hits another car on the field it may not damage. This is where I'm a little confused about the circumstances of the glitch not only do I not know how exactly these were activated these happened on two different levels during the tournament mode and the glitch corrected itself differently each time. The first time it only stopped when the level was completed. When this happened with Shadow I was in the Treetops level. I lost one life during that playthrough on that level and it still continued. When I did so with axel, once I was destroyed the glitch corrected itself and stopped. I was destroyed the same way by another car's special because that was the only thing that would work. In Twisted Metal Head On extra twisted edition, if you complete the tournament mode once with any character, there is a chance that you will also unlock the ending for shadow. I do not know under what circumstance this happens but I do know the following. When I observe this I had an incomplete save file for Twisted Metal black on the memory card as I was using a new memory card I had purchased. The only character ending I had unlocked on that save file for Twisted Metal black was the preacher. I beat the tolerant mode for preacher in Twisted Metal black on normal difficulty. When I did this in Twisted Metal head-on I played as Outlaw on medium difficulty. Several of my friends and I try to recreate this glitch multiple times and out of the eight times we tried, it only occurred once more. Once again I have no idea what the circumstances of this glitch is.
Him saying that the game had glitches that make it like a creepypasta Me over here: ... Surprise me because I thought twisted metal had a good story and had good gameplay
why not just dump the game files into a computer and search for audio files? it will take some time. but listening t every audio clip and checking what they are named could help get closer to solving it.
I’d have said a location bug since I’ve experienced sound triggers in games where I wasn’t supposed to be like wave while in the desert or the ending credits sound in a fight but I’m not sure
I hate the franchise died. the 2012 remake was really fun. I worked with a friend to unlock the secret car think it was warthog amd used to go online amd do pretty well in the matches
Shiiiit this was a game i played sooo hard as a kid lmao mom and dad never knew i played this game cause it was for 18 and above so i always played it in my friends house telling my parents i was there for studying
Er actually we did know it existed it was exclusive to Sony tho sadly brilliant game same with the other game that was its rival vigilanty loved that one
After playing Twisted Metal 2012 back in the day, The Creepy Sound Glitch Happened to me more than 4 times after playing it for a year or more. So Yeah this Creepy Sound Glitch happens randomly without any warnings at all.
Also for my TM 2012 I sometimes don't hear that Reverb Bell Sound playing, it sometimes just cuts my audio completely until it fixes itself Completely.
Twisted metal black ps2 needs to have a remake. The voices in black was awesome the cars were awesome I was sick and tired though the same lock up room for easy character. But 2012 has my favorite kind of music. Metal !!!!!!!!!
Hey Double G, how amazing would it be if there was a Batman/DC game that looked and played like Twisted Metal? I can picture a game that plays like Twisted Metal: Black and borrows aesthetics from the Arkham games and dark Batman comics. The contestants being Batman's villains (Joker, Two-Face, Scarecrow etc), with vehicles playing into their personalities and potential play styles. Various spots around Gotham being the arena for the villains in their vehicles. Batman being the final boss with his Batmobile and/or Batwing. And their endings covering how each villain takes down Batman/takes over Gotham.
@@GavinGoniwicha I forgot to mention this, but I recommend checking out the Batman graphic novel A Serious House on Serious Earth. It has the look and feel of TMB concept art, if not darker. The way Batman's portrayed in it would be how I'd portray him in the hypothetical car combat game. A shadowed, mysterious figure. Makes sense, as that's how Gotham's villains see him.
I've come across such a glitch like 7 or so years ago playing the Barbie Mermaid Adventure if you swim deep into the out of bounds area maybe 10 min swim from where you start out somewhere to the left. The screen begins to turn a tint of dark red. About a min later you'll hit a barrier, but the longer you swim there the darker the screen becomes. I left to go make a bowl of cake & ice cream that was pretty good and came back and I could barely see her swimming, but before I sat down I could see low poly black blurry things swimming around her. They didn't have sound effects so I thought it was just bugging out. I touched the keyboard and she froze up in animated then just got dragged under the water. The camera followed and I couldn't get control over the damn character. I couldn't even use any of the controls anymore on the keyboard to restart the level. I thought about hard restarting the computer when this faint swashing muffled backwards tune started playing, but slow words being played forward. "Wreck Ask Lee" just reverbed over and over again. Game screeches as the audios played way over each other then it crashed. That freaked me out but I wasn't about to eat it up or I was never going to put down or play around with my dessert food.
I haven't played this Twisted Metal but I have a few ideas of what this could be. Could this possibly be sound files getting overlayed? Could this be the cause of the game getting confused on where you are on the map? And lastly, Could this just be game corruption from a scratched disc?
I'll literally go live and kill myself if Twisted Metal gets turned into another fucking Battle Royal game. WHATS SO FUCKING WRONG WITH AN ACTUALLY STORY!?!?!?!
@@GavinGoniwicha I just don't want my favorite game to get the "give me $20 and I'll give you this cool skin" treatment. WHAT HAPPENED TO PLAY TO UNLOCK!?!??!

It is one of my favorite sagas of all time. I hope the new game goes back to the horror roots and the psychologically unhinged and not the "comedic" approach that TV show will approach.
"Cursed?!"
This shit was a blessing in the PS1 era.
I have experience it about 7 times and my guess if you're doing so well the game can't keep upm
The noise sounds to me like a rush of adrenaline. Literally, your driver's uge to kill reaching it's breaking point.
Samoa Joe as Sweet Tooth, I can get behind that!
I would consider this an easter egg
I wouldn't exactly say the glitch is terrifying, (trust me I've seen and heard worse glitches) but I do think it's weird.
Loved Twiwsted Metal 2. Damn I spend many hours in that game
Subbed due to good editing and love for twisted metal
I would imagine that on the off-chance this was an intentional thing, it'd just run on a simple chance code (I know little about coding, I'm sure someone knows the proper name for this) where it selects a number between 1 and 200, for example, and if it hits the specific number it then does a 'rare' action. I doubt this is what's causing it, but it would be funny if they snuck in something creepy with a ridiculously low chance of happening.
This was a good watch. I've never known/experienced this glitch in the 2012 game. Pretty spooky
Though I do recall the menu music for Head on not coming on multiple times for me and always found that kinda odd lol.
Loved the music and the fact you could put the ps1 disc's in a CD player and listen to the music tracks.
If a Twisted Metal game isn't as brutal as the main games with lots of deaths and explosions and shooting each other, then I will be disappointed.
The way you explained the glitched audio being in a loop why would the reverb resonate?
This isn’t a broken audio clip this is a recorded clip
Everything you heard was a recorded clip, it was insanely clear and I heard no looping and heard the reverb resonate which tells me that the reverb is flat with audio coming through so it leads me to believe the clip is a simple spooky recording that isn’t meant to be there
With how violent and aggressive society is becoming, especially those keyboard warriors and angry comments on UA-cam, bringing back twisted metal only makes sense.
Twisted metal was actually ahead of many games visually, it always pushed hardware limits.
Game already looked like a PS4 Game before PS4 was released
2, black, and 2012. My favorite...I need MOAR CARNAGE! 2 was my childhood. XD
I've heard this many times, I just thought it was apart of the game. Something extra to make the game more creepy.
I actually think of TM 2 and axle and shadow and thumper 1 didnt blow me away like 2 did when released lol
Twisted Metal II was the best one for me. Black was too dark and depressing. I did not like it at all.
has anyone tried running the glitch audio through a waterfall audio display?
Everyone says they hear a train, but it almost sounds to me like a UFO flying
It probably was added as a sound that plays when it miss reads the sound that should play so it adds a distortion echo to hide the fact or it was a random sound Easter egg that has multiple ways to get it to happen
This dude keeps saying " but first" this a dude who does part 2 videos lol
I will always go straight for "Twisted Metal 2: World Tour"
I knew it! The 2012 sound glitch
I'm surprised they haven't done a twisted metal battle royal yet
Only game I ever knew that had some audio like this was Minecraft with the your in or near a cave sound. But it wasn’t a glitch but intentional.
The glitch sounds really Intentional, cause all other audio goes out.
So many good nights with my nephew blowing up the eifle tower
Black was so damn good but Twisted Metal 2 will always be my favorite
remember kids, it's not just manslaughter, it's vehicular manslaughter.
I'll have to play it again. To see if I get the glitch.
Twisted metal battle royale needs to happen😎
I loved this series, next Vigilante and Destruction Derby. Hope the fresh title to arrive live up to the Legacy of this franchise.
I wish Twisted Metal Black 2 was released
Twisted Metal 2 is what did it for me 🫡
First and foremost I want to apologize for any unusual grammar or spelling errors.
Him saying that the game had glitches that make it like a creepypasta
Me over here: ... Surprise me because I thought twisted metal had a good story and had good gameplay
Twisted metal 2 is still the best 🤘
Should try to ask david jaffe about the glitch hes active online
Hmmm good idea, maybe I'll make a follow-up video if I can get in contact
Seriously, that was it? Pass
why not just dump the game files into a computer and search for audio files? it will take some time. but listening t every audio clip and checking what they are named could help get closer to solving it.
Think of twisted metal as.... Like Evil Dead, with cars. It's got horror mixed all in the action
Shoulda made a hovering ufo alien character and win it wins it just kidnaps calypso and probes him lol
Oh wait i've heard this sound, honestly it kicked in when multiple explosions went off. And it was only on this level, kinda scared the fuck outta me.
I’d have said a location bug since I’ve experienced sound triggers in games where I wasn’t supposed to be like wave while in the desert or the ending credits sound in a fight but I’m not sure
You've earned a sub hermano!
I hate the franchise died. the 2012 remake was really fun. I worked with a friend to unlock the secret car think it was warthog amd used to go online amd do pretty well in the matches
2:42
Twisted Metal is so much better than Vigilant 8 and used to be my favourite racing game alongside Carmageddon. Please revive both
Shiiiit this was a game i played sooo hard as a kid lmao mom and dad never knew i played this game cause it was for 18 and above so i always played it in my friends house telling my parents i was there for studying
Theyre definitely not "personalized", that'd be too expensive for not much out come. It's literally just a sound file
twisted metal cursed edtiton
I very enjoyed this game when I was a kid. I really hope they will bring it back also i think there is a market for these kind of games.
Er actually we did know it existed it was exclusive to Sony tho sadly brilliant game same with the other game that was its rival vigilanty loved that one
OH MY GOD I THOUGHT TWISTED METAL BLACK WAS THAT ONE WITH TWISTED METAL HEAD ON, SO EXIST A TWISTED METAL I NEVER PLAYED AND I AM CRAZY
6:21 MAN, this happened for me many times when playing, its a glitch like the sound died for some moments
Twisted metal was awesome, it's just gone as a genre. FPS caught on, vehicle battles didn't.
They need to remake it
That is freaking crazy sounding id be freaked out imagin being home alone at night as a kid and that happening 😳
Many here were probably to young. Twisted Metal II wqs hands down the best in my opinion.
Reminds me of the burnout 3 demo disc crash sounds. Aka burnout 3 see you in hell creepypasta
I want a remake of the Quatrology 1-4 , especially 2 , Honk Kong Krunch !
It could simply be the console overheating.
Or an intentional feature that happens very little
Way. Too. Long.
Dang buddy how young are you? No mention of twisted metal 1 or 2? That’s disrespectful. Everybody’s favorite 2012? Lol
Never said that
Ps3 Twisted Metal was the best in my opinion then Black followed by TM2
Would Be A 🔥 Game Bro
@@GavinGoniwicha I forgot to mention this, but I recommend checking out the Batman graphic novel A Serious House on Serious Earth. It has the look and feel of TMB concept art, if not darker. The way Batman's portrayed in it would be how I'd portray him in the hypothetical car combat game. A shadowed, mysterious figure. Makes sense, as that's how Gotham's villains see him.
oh no a live action twisted metal show. Lets ruin it like halo.
That supposed glitch definitely sounded like goose stepping German soldiers
Rick Astley, you're a troll lmaooo 💀
Twisted metal was my shit!!!! One of my all time titles for it’s time.
My man, the title is literally a lie.
Read the pinned comment
@@GavinGoniwicha but... the pinned comment just says you know the game's not actually cursed. Idk, I felt misled.
Make a story, but have battle Royale as a bonus game mode. Or have battle Royale be unlocked after beating the story
@@GavinGoniwicha I just don't want my favorite game to get the "give me $20 and I'll give you this cool skin" treatment. WHAT HAPPENED TO PLAY TO UNLOCK!?!??!
Fr I can't blame you. I hope the series doesn't take that route
First game was good, second game was amazing. The 3rd and 4th were okay. Everything else after that sucked ass, imo.
