I couldn’t wait to try this hair style lol but I actually twisted the back sections downward rather than upward. What would you suggest for someone who has a lesser density than you who wants to achieve this style?
For someone with a lesser density, I would recommend flat twisting on stretched hair and to not flat twist the hair tightly to the scalp. Similar to a chunky flat twist, you can pull/tug/fluff out some of the hair to create more volume. Another option is to add hair to create the density that you're looking for.

After washing it, I placed my hair into 24 two strand twists. Wore my hair like that a couple of days and then styled my hair.
