Happi Star Yeah sure. BUT I can tell you this now after washing my hair, I allow my hair to air dry a little bit (damp not wet), before placing them into medium-large 2 strand twists all over. I also found out that sometimes braiding instead of 2 strand twisting will allow my hair to stretch even longer, but the drying process will take longer. Hopefully this helps :)
Hi! I have watched all of your protective style videos and love them! On the other hand I notice many of them involve flat twists. My 4c extra thick and kinky lower-neck length texture does not take well to flat twists 😞, but the styles are gorgeous. Could you upload videos that substitute flat twists? I guess more styles that involve an easy tuck and roll too. I am a high school student and my own hairstylist, so time is very limited for me. Easy and quick, yet ravishing or elegant ideas are what I would like to see also. Thank you! 😃

bbybear712 Thank you so much for your comment & suggestions (I'm making a note of them now). As far as "tips for flat twisting/braiding the back"-- Take your time. You may have redo a braid over and over again (which can be tiring), but with each try, it'll get better. I myself struggle in this area still (as you could see in this video, one side in the back wasn't as neat as the other). So you'll have to find ways to hide it. Neat parts make the messiest flat twists look good! Multiple mirrors also help. I wish I had two more hands to work on my hair in the back, but for now I use these videos as practice for myself in the hopes that I'll get better with each flat twist style. Maïmouna DIEDHIOU Hello! No, I did not. Before my Big Chop in June 2011 (& even afterwards), I literally started to study UA-cam videos (natural hair tutorials) for hours & hours at a time. I saw so many different styles that I wanted, but was in college and couldn't afford to pay someone else to style my hair. So I took advantage of all the free d.i.y. tutorials on here and somewhat taught myself (in which I'm glad that I did). It also helped to have willing participants who didn't mind me playing with their hair either for practice.

HI Michy thank you so much for your prompt reply,, thats my goal not to apply it accept during deep condition Under a hooded dryer ,, my hair is low porosity so its a bit difficult to get moisture,, Do you do your own hair all the time,, I want to do styles like this and thank you for the video if im listening it takes a full day to wash and stretch air dry then take down and style correct.. For the past 4 years I've done my own hair, with the exception of a professional flat ironing in January of this year. Usually when I'm stretching my hair, I'll do it the day before styling that way I can do other things throughout the day. Only for the purpose of the tutorial, did I do it all in one day. I don't need paper for the current rods that I have, which I do believe that are some rods out there that will snag your hair. You just have to do whatever method that works best for your hair.
I tried this out and I loved it. My twist are not as awesome as your but I loved it. My hubby told me to retwist one at the back but he liked it a lot too. Its a nice sleek look. My only problem was man my arms were tired by the end. Am I the only one who gets Jello arms when she's gotta work the back? Lol

when you use those rods do you not need paper,, would flexi rods give same curl
