- JBL hosted a ritzy rooftop party at Hotel Roosevelt, a class spot in the heart of Los Angeles, California. JBL announced the line of two new product lines, with over 12 products, including one of the first white AVR's on the market. We sat down with Jim Garrett to catch the why's and how's behind JBL's new Stage 2 line.
I am surprised JBL decided to get back into audio video receivers - especially considering their Bluetooth speakers became all the rage. A white colored receiver is a welcome addition as opposed to the black and silver ones we normally see.
Jim Garrett of Harman Luxury Audio group seems to only have higher up brands and JBL that he can influence. Very sad, because harman/kardon has no component audio systems despite they were known for that (better than JBL). They had the HK 980, 990, the HK 3700/3770 and the AVR 151(S), 161(S), 171(S) and the BDS 580(S) as their last products. Very sad to see that but another reason probably is the image, JBL is better known especially in the target customer group (younger people) but I guess it is mostly the internal issue that the Luxury group is not allowed to use the harman/kardon branding.
Funny, this video looks as if it’s an “interview”, but it’s really a speech. A dissertation. An advertisement. What exactly were the questions? 😊.
I wish JBL’s customer service agents were as easy to understand as Jim is in this video. Tried twice to call in and get more info on the new Stage 2 speakers vs the previous A180 versions. Neither agent could I fully understand so I gave up trying to contact JBL directly.
my Jbl ES speakers line still look more sophisticated than their new models but i am glad JBL come out with new products
The styling on these would've been perfect if they'd released in 2009. I bet they would've been a hit at Fry's.
Looks nice. I would be more excited to see that SCL-1 in a more home 2ch styling. I need an upgrade for my JBL 4367s.
