I’ve always enjoyed learning from your videos. My 74’ 450SL overheats when sitting in traffic at idle. But on the highway and in full gear cruising it’s at normal temp. What could be going on? There is a new thermostat, new coolant (not a flush or fluid change, I just drained the fluid out of the radiator at the bottom and refilled it.) it was overheating before I did anything to it. New fan clutch installed as well. New coolant temp sensor the gauge sensor is working fine. Just not sure what’s going on now.
I just want to say that I have been looking for 2 weeks before going into a mechanic about my coolant leaking constantly and I having to top it off. Your coolant leaking into wiper fluid reservoir tank video saved me so much money. Thank you so much!
Hi Kent. I am driving my 1965 Austin Healey 3000 re-imported from san francisco about ten years ago and still has its original rad with no leaks and no overheating problems. Just luck or good old british engineering?.

Like to see it taken apart to see what is failing and see why a repair would not work.
Go for it. It would be a good video you could make...

Question, would you ever take an old radiator to a shop to have it reconditioned?
