Thank you. Nice video, great recipe descriptions. One thing I would add is, that with large families, it may be more advantageous to get a double or triple tier steamer box, so that your cooking rate is increased. Also, I prefer the ones that have a removable cover, as this allows one to steam all kinds of other things besides rice noodles. Crabs, clams and other sea foods is a favorite. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing. We just tried for the first time using your advice, and they came out very good. I am sure with a little more practice we'll get the timing down a little better.
Chris, thanks for this video. I just got one of these Steamer Boxes for my birthday. Problem is not much in the manual. Thank goodness for your video. I do have a question (well, one to start with). How much water do you pour in to begin with. I know you said to add more so it does not dry out but how much do we start with? 1 cup? 2 cups? Or how much more. And when I add more water would you recommend me adding boiling water? Thanks again. I am hungry for some Cheung Fun.
1 cup should be enough but you can add as much you want as long as it doesn't overfill. It doesn't have to be boiling water. I add regular room temp tap.
@@ChrisXia thanks, like you, I prefer mine to be a bit thicker than what I’ve viewed on other videos. So, 1 cup of water was enough for you to make how many rolls before you had to add more water?
@@sarahlouie5572 Unfortunately with this, it's more of a "guess and check" kind of things. As long as the water isn't running over, you can add as much as you need.
Where has this been all my life?????? I need this now
Just purchased one, brand new, from an auction for $4!!!!!
Thanks for sharing & looking forward to making these tomorrow!!
How was it?
one of my favorite dishes ever! I used to always get this as a kid, and still to this day. Definitely gonna try this
I've been thinking about getting a rice roll steamer but wanted to see how they work. Rice noodle rolls are my favorite. Thanks for posting.
No problem!

You can also strain your batter for a smoother batter... less chance of those clumps if you ever get those clumps.

Thankyou. Brilliant presentation. And impressive rolling 👌
I made this with shrimp to somehow make it a shrimp rice roll and man were they splendid!

@@ChrisXia Okay. I’ll start with a cup and adjust as needed. Thank you again. Your video is so helpful.
I’ve tried these wraps and they were great! 😀
Very useful. Thank you
This is my fav dim sum dish
Where l can get the steamer please
Is four minutes enough to fully cook the raw beef though? I think it would require a lot more time than that
Yep, the beef cooks fast because it’s in thin strips.
Does it work for electric stove ?
Yep!
Can I use this rice roll steamer box to make chaofun noodles?
You probably could but you might have to mix up the recipe to change the density of the noodles.
@@ChrisXia Thanks!
Where did u get the tray
Amazon amzn.to/3bsTGgC
You forgot the green scallions.
WOW. Look masses for 1 roll and fill water every 3 minutes. THIS IS KIDDY STUFF
that's too thick
Too thick
I’ve been told that before
Too thick.. That makes it hard to roll
To each their own man! Chris already said he likes his rice roll thicker so make it how you would like it. Just chill...
