It's awesome to see how much the Golden Eagles have become a fundamental part of Sendai, especially after they got burned by the Orions the first time and when they were able to make their community whole again in 2013 two years after earthquake by winning the Japan series. Here's hoping they can find the right pieces for ring number 2. Thanks for making this series Gaijin Baseball. Can't wait to see more videos about NPB.
Congrats and well done, you've made baseball fans proud of your work. Better ending this with the team of Masahiro Tanaka..... GAMBARE GAMBARE RA KU TEN !!! (sings Eagles Fight Song)
Finally, my team. 😀 I instantly became a fan the first time I saw a game in Sendai in 2012. (Perfect timing, right?) Even now, every time I hear "Ato Hitotsu" I get goosebumps because of that Game 7 entrance by Ma-kun..
Shinichi Hoshino still widely respected among Eagles fans and after he passed away due to pancreatic cancer back in 2018, his number #77 still the only "player and manager" number ever to be retired by this fledgling team. Alas, talking about "Rich Ownership", I kinda wish Rakuten took SoftBank directions of player development instead of Yomiuri directions of signing Free Agents. They had more than enough money to start the state of the arts training center like Hawks and also more than enough money to even set up 3-gun and 4-gun like them. But they simply didn't
This is a super cool series! Your whole channel has really good stuff for someone wanting to learn more about NBP. My family is from Sendai and I wanted to learn more about the Eagles. Good job and hope to see more content in the future!
I tried going to a Rakuten Eagles game with 4 American friends back in 2012. They didn't let us in. I guess it's possible they were sold out but it wasn't a weekend. Any thoughts? We wound up getting pretty schwiftty in Sendai and two of my friends were drugged at Rainbow bar. The 3 of us spent the night in a cafe (I forget the name of those) and found them asleep on top of the van we rented the next morning. I really wish they'd have let us in.
The Persona 4 music in the background makes this video for me.

Their championship, in retrospect, DID feel like Houston winning in 2017. Quite a shame how the latter turned out.

As someone trying to get into NPB this was a great series, thanks a bunch! Love the Persona music too
Congrats on finishing this massive project.

I feel like it was going to be like the Hawks until Mikitani got obsessed with Vissel Kobe lol
This series is what got me into NPB your whole channel is great! Now if only it was easier to stream games.
The 2013 Rakuten winning the Japan Series was Hoshino’s first and last Japan series win. After that well, the owners kept changing managers.
A beautiful one to end on. Great job!
I really enjoyed this series a lot!

There is no real MLB comparison but I'd say they are some amalgomation of the 2010s Red Sox, the Arizona Diamonbacks, and the 1989 Oakland A's.
I’ll always love Tanaka ❤️
2:52 Pretty sure Lotte wanted revenge and initiation there

Rich ownership, ur kidding. Do u know that Rakuten mobile is red and might be pivotal for the company?
Still got $130 billion in assets.
Rakuten Mobile represents 1/16th of Rakuten's total assets. It's nothing more than a hiccup for them atm.
@@GaijinBaseball investor is not thinking as u as look at the stock price
Apparently not in red anymore
@@derkaiserzen what do u mean? Rakuten is still red
