    I was at the Joint Task Force Compound on Fort Bragg. We put in a satellite up link and provided secure coms' for the DOD. Delta was about to deploy from Bragg. All air traffic was instantly grounded that morning. Around 6 that evening we heard a helicopter that looked like a Marine or Navy Helicopter. It was hovering over Pope AFB, which was a stone's throw from me. Then a white passenger jet took off. We all knew who that was.

    We found a couple of relatively small hidden ordnance caches in early 2003 that yielded literal tons of grenades, mortars, RPGs, AA and maybe even some arty rounds. Crates upon crates that took us several hours to load onto multiple trucks. It's hard to fathom the sheer tonnage of ordnance that was stacked up in caches like that all over Iraq at that time.

    55:25 best part imo, awesome to see someone of this level admit this. I am an iraq war veteran from the 101st. I had dreams of trying to get in Special Forces and attended a couple of recruitment events 5th group had, but my use of percoset and alcohol following 05-06 deployment, and the horrible way it was handled ( tried to seek help early but was just given a few more scripts) ruined those aspirations. I am a supervisor at a fedeeal agency now though so i did turn it around and got masters degree. Bern California sober for a while. Cannabis is legal where i am at, and although I could lose my dederal job, it has saved my life. They don't drug test us though, and I am close to retirement now. It sucks that something as beneficial as cannabis is where it is at federally. 1:31:30 Snake we need you back!

    Well delta is tier 1. Buds is for regular seals. You have to spend 6-8 years as a seal to screen for green team to try out for team 6 their tear1 team. Soo asking about buds compared to delta selection doesn’t make sense.

    • @deathfire096
      @deathfire096 Рік тому

      True. It's a different selection for Green Team than Buds. You are not even a Seal after Buds but remember these guys that talk about this program are Army and they know very little about the Navy. To be in Devgru, you have to pass Buds, make it to the teams (2 years training) have years of combat deployments to be selected for Green Team (Seals tier 1 training). That's a long pipeline.

    Articulate people like Chris can make their points so effectively. One of the common problems I see with many individuals in what's perceived as the more "macho" career fields is this constant need to drop an f-bomb into every sentence. I'm certain much of it comes from peer observation. Everyone in your peer group talks that way, so it becomes the cultural norm. I'm not a prude, I heard plenty of vulgarity during my law enforcement career, but at some point you realize it's not necessary if you have a functioning brain capable of retrieving the right words to make your point.

      @@williampetrosky9741 Because there is NO path for DELTA to DEVGRU because they only take SEALS. Damn you are a child. Why would DELTA leave the Army and start at the NAVY at the bottom at BUDS and wait years for GREEN TEAM? That's why you don't see DELTA going over to the NAVY. There is no short cut to Green Team. All of them have to switch branches and do 6 months of BUDS then 7 months of SEAL Qualification (that means lots of water training) then be in the top 1% for years in the regular SEAL teams to tryout for Green Team to make it to Devgru. Why would a DELTA soldier that made it in DELTA leave the branch and start in the Navy at the bottom?

    • @BlyGuy
      @BlyGuy 8 місяців тому

      Uhhh, Dev doesn't take guys from outside the Navy, whereas CAG will take guys from any branch if they think that guy will be a good fit.
      If a Delta guy wanted to go to Dev, i imagine they'd have to first go through BUD/S, go to the vanilla teams for a bit and then to green team and then finally to Dev.
      Who in their right mind who do all of that, especially in their late 20's or early 30's?

      @@deathfire096The Unit = Delta = CAG. How do we know the Unit is in a different class? Well, they don't have a dark and sordid history in the GWOT as revealed in Matthew Cole's book about Dev. They don't have a penchant for stolen valor & operators making shit up (see Rob O'Neill). They don't have a history of leaving men behind (see John Chapman).
