- We are now offering Yoshimura Replica pipes at Johnny's. This video demonstrates the sound of these pipes which were retrofitted to our KZ1000 test bike. Available at: www.johnnysvin...
That's a clean bike. I like that exhaust. Sounds mean. My dad got a 72 z1-900. He said it burn the rear tire off anytime, any gear, for as long as you could keep it straight in the road. He still got it. Just been in storage untouched since mid 80s.
That is a great-looking machine
Why didn't someone rip it down and back on the driveway? You always wind em out nicely Johnny.
yeah so we could hear that sound better..they just are the best sounding bikes ever..
Sweet looking bike great sound, we want more bike rebuilds please your bikes are always so good looking great detail....
More to come. We've been doing a lot of 73 Z1's lately so not much variety but every bike brings it's own story. Thanks for watching!
I just love that sound, great looking exhaust, stay safe guys
Thanks, you too!
It’s great that you are reproducing such a great header for the Z1/KZ’s but the collector needs to be more of a mandrel bend to replicate the original Yosh pipe. The Yosh collector was one piece no welds. Your repro looks a little like the Kerker pipe in that regard which was an excellent pipe as well.
Just reving it doesn't give it justice riding it up and down your driveway would give you a better idea what it sounds like.
NICE!!!
Johnny, I respect your work and shop, and I'm not trying to be disrespectful, but that seam/joint between the collector and baffle section is wrong. It should be a smooth, radius bend. I had built and raced several of these back in the day, even several hand bent pipes for the Honda CB750. I do understand if you couldn't make a exact copy because of legal issues. Thank you, SARGE.
Beautiful motorcycle
Is there access to the oil filter with that beautiful pipe?
I'll get John to address that when they get back from the races... maybe he'll also rip up and down the driveway with it too, for those who are asking! As always, thanks for your interest.
Beautifull bike really, congrats!
That is such a good-looking bike! Exactly what model and year is it?
Available for kz650 1977?
kz 650 best all around bike i got 1980
I don't think so
@jeremy
The KZ650 is my favorite I had a C model (blue with gold stripe ) in 1980. And now have a 1977 C model in blue with red&gold pinstripes) have a complete set of bodywork painted in the 79 color( painted by Brian @ BD’s Cycles in S.Carolina. It’s ALL paint (no decals) In 1980 I was a broke 20 year old, I bought the 79 on payments . Back then everyone else had 900’s& 1000’s with either a Kerker or a Yosh. Mine came with some basterdised something on it , but I couldn’t afford to change it. Now I am awaiting a hand bent one from Japan that cost about what I paid for the 79 and 3 times more than I paid for the 77. I saved my money for 40 years so I can spend it on motorcycles 😂😂😂 I guess I’m trying to buy my youth back like every other old guy that some how made it to 60 something.
beautiful, musick 2 my ears,...... :)
I thought yoshimara exhaust was on the left
So is that Hilo's machine? Niiiiice!
