    Very good review. My non hybrid Sport absolutely flies from 30-80mph, use V Power most of the time it makes a difference, plus 50mpg. The car has so much torque you can start off in 2nd gear on level ground and that does away with one gear change. Hard car to beat for the money👍

    Great job on the review. I bought a lightly used one just before Christmas. Mines a grey example, registered January 2022. Such a brilliant fun daily. I think very under rated. Can't quite understand why suzuki have quoted such pessimistic performance figures. Maybe something to do with legislation and categories in other markets.

    I got this car back in May 2024. Aside being quite unrefined at higher speeds (just about the right side of being quite intrusive) and iffy rear camera I like it very much. I can’t quite put my finger on it but I find myself just wanting to drive it. It’s just great to drive and just goes. I don’t know why I bothered to look at anything else.

    • @PeakPerformanceReviews
      @PeakPerformanceReviews  7 місяців тому +2

      Not quite it, kinda bounces off limiter around 58ish mph and it just won’t hit 60, a shame, if I was a pedantic person and wanted a better 0-60 I would put literally a tiny bit taller tyre on to improve the ratio in gear, I reckon that would save about 0.4 seconds in a manual it is that much pretty much.

  • @CharcoalKaos
    @CharcoalKaos 7 місяців тому +1

    4wd would sort that launch, the turbos just a touch too much for the fwd traction but a summers day would possible stick like s to a blanket? 👌

    Great review pal

    • @PeakPerformanceReviews
      @PeakPerformanceReviews  7 місяців тому +1

      Yeah definitely, it would be in the 6’s easy with AWD, however it would dull down the drive and add weight for sure.
      I think a taller tyre or slight improvement to the ratios would get it way quicker possibly even in the late 6’s even still with FWD. But yeah with better wether and stickier rubber it would be even more impressive for sure 👍

      @@PeakPerformanceReviews Thanks for your answer. The car is for my wife for a daily use. And we cannot decide between Suzuki Swift Sport Hybrid manual with 129HP or Mazda 2 Homura eskyactive 90HP. We want small car for city use but with proper 4 cilinders, not todays 3 cilinder cars. This is the last chance to get one that is new, and both are Japanese so reliable. I tried sitting in this swift and the seats felt small for me (6ft2 around 100KG). Mazsa feels more premium inside, but Swift is more atractive from outside. I do not know what to choose.

  • @ThorEnterprise
    @ThorEnterprise 4 місяці тому +1

    I've always liked the Suzuki Swift Sport.
    This latest version has all the looks; the slightly shark nose front end (from the right viewing angle), the huge front grille that is indicative of some latter Jaguar cars.
    The back end is lovely; and not a cosmetic trick, given the real twin exhausts.
    But also, the tech on board is excellent, given the price margin!
    The fuel economy is brilliant too, in what is termed a 'warm' sporty hatch.
    All in all, this is a serious contender if you want all this: LOOKS, SPORTY, ECONOMY, CHEAP TO SERVICE AND INSURE. Seriously? YES!
    But, really, how can this be just 'warm'? I've seen your dyno test video. I've driven this car. Love it. FUN FUN FUN. And, definitely as good as the Renault 5 Turbo was, back in the days (remember the ads; 0-60 in 7.5 seconds?)
    Suzuki were definitely conservative in their specs on this motor. In fact, probably so conservative, they are more like the Reform Party than Conservative in saying what they do 🤣
    Politics aside (they don't mix well with cars). Other reviewers have played too much on the 0-60 performance, without recognising the subtleties. (And getting a shed load of info wrong too in the process).
    So, I've just bought a black SSS hybrid from a Suzuki approved used car dealer, less than two years old, 6,000 miles on the clock. One owner (Suzuki staff car). The second Suzuki service will be done before delivery. Also valeted, engine bay steam cleaned. They're even changing a minor 'chipped' piece of interior trim because they don't want the hassle of sending a car delivered by transporter from Lancashire to Kent in a couple of weeks! Plus, I get the balance of the seven year/100,000 mile warranty (assuming I keep the car as stock and continue to have it serviced at Suzuki, which I will). And, they offer the first MoT cost at three years, for free! Seriously? How good is that?
    This purchase is for £9K less than the new price. Again, seriously? What's interesting though is that you can only get these kind of deals through Suzuki. Because, once someone buys one of these, privately, they rarely come back on the resale market.
    Why? Because the owner doesn't want to sell it, until they really have too!
    Suzuki and Toyota are (apparently) running at number one for manufacturer reliability in the UK.
    I'll run it solely on 99 octane petrol (Shell V-Power) and on delivery, run some Wynn's Petrol 7 juice additive through the engine and take it for a long run to Yorkshire and back (500 miles).
    Then, I'll sit back and enjoy the ride, cheap motoring, cheap servicing - and the lovely customer service I'm already experiencing from Suzuki.
    It would be mad not to consider a good low mileage approved used SSS from a reputable Suzuki dealer. Absolutely stunning.

    the swift makes a better 0 to 60 time if you start in the 2nd gear. Before clutch in rev up the engine to the rpm with the highest torque. Times may get better once your front tires got a bit temperature though. I can drive the none-hybrid with 58,7 mpg in the city.😀

    The opening info about whether the hybrid system kicked in for the peak dyno run confused me slightly particularily when you mentioned all wheel drive?
    As far as i know you can call up a screen that indicates which way power flows into the hybrid system if its at all like the standard cars info screens.
    Like these cars but the price has risen an awful lot over the last few year's and the lowest spec trim is a bit of a bargain currently at least on a tier 1 discount.
    Might pull the trigger on the next gen if the seats are a bit less bolstered across the back of the seat interested to know the overall economy.

    • @PeakPerformanceReviews
      @PeakPerformanceReviews  5 місяців тому

      I can understand why that could sound confusing, you need to make the dyno turn the back wheels.
      Basically even though the Suzuki isn’t AWD the car needs to see the back wheels turning so some people in the know have been able to make the rear wheels turn to invoke the hybrid system to kick in (how that’s done I do not know) but I was inform on the dyno that is the only way it can happen.
      So our 141bhp seems all the more impressive as realistically the hybrid system adds 10bhp roughly so we can assume the car has roughly 150bhp.
      The seats are lovely and comfy and within the video there should be a lot about its efficiency and mpg in general.
      We were getting 40-50mpg very easily which make it not only frugal but also very fast and fun.
      Definitely go get a drive if you can I’m pretty sure you’ll love it 🫶🙌
      Thank you so much for watching Anthony and sorry for any confusion caused ❤️

      @PeakPerformanceReviews Thanks for taking the trouble to explain how the hybrid system is enabled to work.
      We bought the SZl and it's a nice motor for the cash, itll do 60 mpg, cruises st 70 no issue and has a good ride/ handling compromise and might see if they do a larger engined model for the next gen.
