Dorn was pretty damn funny on his own, he would sneak up on Stewart and pretend to play out an assassination from Shakespeare, only for Patrick Stewart to spend 5 minutes acting out the most hammy death scenes on the captain's chair.

Worf showed incredible restraint here, even Dr. Crusher seemed to be close to telling the ambassador off, but Worf diffused the situation by putting aside his contempt for a moment so that things would run smoothly. That's how you do character development on Star Trek: from a raw, feral instrument to one more diplomatic and able to swallow his pride for the greater good. But personally, if Worf had attacked the man, I wouldn't have blamed him in the slightest.

On the first season of the original Bob Newhart Show, Howard Borden wasn't the childlike Howard Borden of the later seasons. Pretty much his character was a lot like Data was in this scene. He'd walk into a room in the middle of some tension, state something dead on that no one wanted to hear, and then leave.

This is why I always related to Data. People used to constantly assume that I was trying to be rude, cruel, or insulting when I thought I was being helpful. Only close friends and family didn't make that assumption. You can tell by Worf's reaction that he knows Data's honestly trying to help, but is completely oblivious to how what he just said sounded.
See, this is the kinda moment that proves to me that Data does have some form of emotions, this, his friendship with Geordi and the other crew members. It's not the same as what humans or even vulcans have but I really do think he has his own kind of emotions.

The irony is that the whole Picard segment of the episode wasn't even HALF as good as the Worf part.
Ever notice JLP had a continuing stream of ladies quite a bit younger than him on TNG.
I suspect that was more actor than writers.
It also was the correct advice. Those writers knew what they were doing.
While holding the knife, Worf is thinking: hmmm, ramming speed, but not like the defiant, a smaller one, using this blade into Data's & the ambassador's chest!! Lol
