Just ordered 2021 Honda CRF300L Rally Tuesday 9/28/2021 delivered Thursday 9/30/2021, only paid MSRP no delivery fee, dealer prep, or any mark up. Southern Honda Chattanooga TN. Out the door price for Rally model was $6050. Gus Wolf was salesman. He said he would let me know when they got it in and did. No deposit required. Was told it might be a couple of months but surprise delivery came in next day after I put my name on wait list.
Hi Frank, very helpful video - by chance what model of Zeta footpegs did you get? Dimensionally the ones I've found on Amazon are not much bigger than stock - yours look to be larger. Look forward to hearing back. Thanks
The bike is looking great Frank. Do you have any idea what the luggage weight capacity is on the 300L? Say if you wanted to use this for an adventure bike, how much weight could you haul without affecting the subframe? Thanks.
I like the plastic because it does a great job of protecting like the aluminum, but the aluminum makes a harmonic sound resonating from the engine. The plastic is totally quiet. I won’t buy aluminum again
I have a 300L coming. I like the mods you have done. Have you thought about taking off that HEAVY stock 7 LB muffler and adding a mod muffler to cut weight and add performance on motor? Also are you going to get Frame tape for the boot area to keep from boot damage. Interested to see which ones you go with and color.
I won’t be taking the muffler off in fact I think it would hurt the power if you do. It is choked down with the muffler and smaller head pipe to give it more low end torque. An FMF or other muffler would make more top end but I want the lower end torque. I plan to get the stick on frame guards that is like the Gripper black, as soon alas I find it for the 300L
Hi Frank, I’m enjoying the recent videos on the TW200! I have a question about the CRF300L wheels. Yesterday I saw a rubber stopper in both rims. I assume that is a place holder where rim locks could be added? Is that correct or does it already have rim locks? Thanks Don

I've been waiting to see who will be making a plastic skid plate. I'll look forward to hearing more on that. I was thinking of making one. I might still do that... maybe ;-)
TMD(TM Designworks) makes an excellent plastic skid plate . They are impregnated with a silicone type substance which allows for you to slide over rocks and debris as opposed to aluminum types that actually drag and create more resistance, as well as , plastic skid plates reduce engine noise reflecting back up to the rider . Aluminum skid plates will produce more pinging noise from engine vibrations . The plastic skid plates flex and retain the integrity of their molded shape without deformation or cracking and breaking. I had the TMD skid plate on my KTM 350 EXC-F and it served me well , absolutely loved it ! Simple to install ( only three bolts which came with the plate .. the bolt heads are rounded off so they will not catch or snag on anything and the hex heads are recessed , and an 8mm Allen wrench is provided , as well as an access port hole integrated into it for the oil drain plug so you don’t have to take the skid plate off when you service your bike ) and there are vent holes strategically placed throughout to allow for drainage of water and air to move freely to keep your crankcase breathing and cooling. It also wraps fully around the engine on both sides providing protection for the water pump and clutch cover .
@@NorthwoodsNomad Yeah I've used only plastic skid plates for those reasons. That's why I'm holding out for plastic even though there are aluminum plates already on the market for the bike, including one made by Honda.

They will start making them soon so hopefully in a few weeks
Great videos! thanks for sharing. Cant wait to be able to get these items! let us know thanks!
I sure will!
Any news on when AXP Racing skid plates will be ready? Thanks
Still waiting, hoping soon
Frank, You need to upgrade that seat, eh! "wink" Are you planning to keep your 2018 CRF250L? If not, someone will be considered to be lucky to get the best optioned and best cared for bike possible!
Yea I want a Seat Concepts seat as soon as the are available.
For now I plan to keep the 250L
do not use your phone on the handlebar if you need the phone camera , from the vibration the sabilizator in the camera breaks
Did you used to own a KLR 650? If so, I used to watch all your videos.
No I had a DR650 and a XR650 no KLRs
@@WOODZMAN TY. All good videos!
What was your total expenditure on the mods?
I was sent them for review, some of the items like the skid plate, Cargo rack and chain guard of prototypes and should be ready for sale soon
see if you can get them to make a line up for the klx 300
I will mention it
Ohlins are still not available
You should change the exhaust with a yoshimura
No way, been there done the exhaust thing. To much obnoxious noise for the power that you gain. Plus you may gain top end but you lose the bottom end torque
@@WOODZMAN sound IS essential
I agree no need to spend that $, if you want more sound just change out the spark arrestor for one that opens up the second exhaust chamber vs pulling from the third.
U r lucky my man !! 😔 In India .. dualsport bikes r not that famous .. or should I say not a bit famous .. here we have kawasaki h2r to Ducati v4s but no dualsports.. in whole india we have only one official dualsport bike which is xpulse 200 .. here people even think Himalayan is a dualsport but that's not a dualsport.. at the end I wish honda sells this type of machine in my country too
Can't you just plug in an LED in where the halogen is?
You can on the stock a US model 300L, using a Cyclopes LED.
Mine is a Thailand LED light
Why plastic skid plate?
I like them better myself, that are strong and they don’t make the obnoxious harmonic noise like the aluminum
@@WOODZMAN I need it 😩
Hopefully they will be available soon
I don't understand why the Asian version would have LED's and the North American version would not? Who wouldn't pick the LEDs and why?
I’m not sure unless they was trying to cut costs
Air filter upgrade soon 😃
Yea I have one ready
TOO MUCH EXPENSIVE !
