How to fix a watch that wont turn on - simple casio fix

A little introduction….
My names lee, I am in the united kingdom, and I am obsessed in old casio watches, mainly resin, digital watches, from the 1980s and and 1990s. Over the years I have collected over 300 of them,
On this channel I will be displaying some of the rarest casio watches ever made, most we have forgotten about. My collection consist of mostly 80s era and some in the 90s.

This is a great video, I just fixed my old childhood f91w the other day. Many people have the idea that quartz watches are too cheap and reliable to bother repairing, but they're a sentimental item like any watch.

Would also say using isopropyl alcohol might be better than wipes. You can get special soft applicators which again, are less likely to damage any components.
Don't.forget to silicone grease your gaskets.

@Oldcasiocollector It's the A156W(CASIO) but it's cracked to on one side to so I can't put a strap on it to so I'll just mess about with it & see what happens 👍 + The other watch i got was the DVB-100 & I put a battery in it & it worked :D But the touch screen hardly works unfortunately. I could get on the menu on it & display the World map which I think looks AMAZING on that watch but the touch bit to change the time isn't working. But it looks COOL in my display bit of CASIO'S so that will do for me 👍 😎

I think that product DeoxIT contact cleaner would probably be very good for this kind of digital watch service.

I think it might work well because cleaning electronic contacts is it's intended purpose, it comes as a spray, obviously wouldn't use the spray directly on the watch, would wet a cloth or a Q-tip with it, and then use that to clean the contacts.

@@erictheking2769 have you tried it. The problem with the tm-100 is they where a rushed watch, to get it to market. It wasnt very well made

All.good advice, would I would suggest getting some plastic tweezers. You're significantly.less likely.to damage the PCB in the event of a slip.

Thanks for the video. I have a question: How would you approach the repair of a watch whose numbers appear dim, especially on some sides? Zebra connectors? Polarizing filter? It’s a CMD-10 that I want to buy, but I’m not sure if it’s worth it. Thanks.

dim number could simply mean the battery needs replacing. or a new screen. i wouldnt advice a polarizing screen as it darkens the screen and dont look right. how much is the cmd-10 and whats the overal condition
