    Lovely. I plan on trying this stitch. I'm happy to see someone hold the right hand needle the way I do.

      It is a very pretty way to knit. I tried to hold my needle like that and I was all thumbs!

    Thanks you, ladies, for this video! It allowed me to make a unicorn pattern in a doll sweater for my granddaughter. I was about to toss the project out and tell my granddaughter that I couldn’t do the unicorn. Now I can make the sweater. It has 6 colors and using the butterflies saved me from so much frustration and tangles.

    WOW!!! Amazing...I just frogged 92 rows of knitting because the tension was horrible and the picture I knit on the front of my first ever knit summer top was bunched up 😩😫. Wish I had watched this tutorial before starting. Gonna give it another try. Thank you!! 😄

    Wonderful, thank you!!! Is another video where is showing the "secret" of what to do with the ends? Or that secret is in the book? I think you said "click above" but is not showing a link to get those instructions. I will love to learn how to deal with the ends. I will also look for the book, my shelves at home need it!!!

    I’ve been wanting to try Intarsia for some time and was excited to get the notice about this video. In fact it’s on my challenge list for trying something new. Whooooaaaa! Much too fast for me. So used to your style Marly, taking things very slowly for us beginners. I had a little trouble following Anne. Also, not used to how she holds her needles; for me it was visually distracting. I knit Continental style. Would the process still be the same? Is it best to do on double pointed needles, as shown here? I’m also wondering about my managing of all those butterflies. Not sure how I could keep them from becoming one-big-knot-of-a-mess. Would yarn bobbins work for us slightly neat-freaks. Still willing to someday giving it a try! Her designs are very pretty; love the diagonal socks!

    Wow, this is great. May I ask a question please. I’m working on “Patriot Scarf” and it requires 1 white stitch periodically in 1 row, then skip this white st/s over 5 rows. Going back to periodic white stitches again in next row, to skip 5 more rows, etc. Maybe I’m not clear enough but it certainly seems to me to be stranded . I am having extreme difficulty doing this and am opting not to do it. I’ll place 1white stitch periodically over the field of blue via embroidery or crochet. Or is there a better solution. Would love to hear your professional opinion.

    Do you always have to knit one row of the main color before you add a second color? I don't want to make a triangle; I want to make a scarf with three vertical even rows of three colors.

    Hi Marly,
    I am dying to make your dream blanket but when I click on the link I get a 404 error but can find the page by googling. However, the layer chart and layer diagram are not showing and I cannot find them anywhere. Is there a way to purchase these parts of the pattern?

    What’s a good way to estimate the yarn length for the different yarn supplies to minimize waste from 1) having multiple tails (because it wasn’t enough and needed another) or 2) was too much and now there’s an awkward yarn length leftover? Thanks!

    I am assuming that you only change color on the knit side, is that a correct assumption?

    • @MarlyBird
      @MarlyBird  6 років тому

      You can change colors on either side. It just so happens that all her color changes in the example were on the knit side. However, it is typical that the color moves/transitions/changes on the knit side.

    this is nothing new, it’s just the correct way of doing intarsia.

    • @MarlyBird
      @MarlyBird  5 років тому

      I have two videos for intarsia, one flat and one in the round. That required a different title to the video. And many people search for the term “Flat Intarsia”.
