Dumb suggestion for debris on the field penalty. What if it were the opponent fans throwing debris on the field on purpose to get the home team the penalty???
BAMA FAN HERE!! Kirby is 1000% correct. You forgot about the touchdown UGA got that was obvious and the refs still denied it after a review. I am starting to believe that Vegas DOES have some control over something because these calls were unbelievable. Can you imagine if UGA did not get the goal line TD and UT had won the game? I could not believe what i was watching was happening. Crazy!!
Aaron ex ref here. Your 💯, absolutely right. It's not a reviewable play. It was called pi on feild by 1 back judge. I watched over and over. Only 1 ref, the one that threw flag ran up to umpire and told him it was a pi on texas. Right or wrong he called it. It was picked up cause they threw stuff on feild, refs looked at big screen, and changed the call. Greg Shakey should b fired years ago. And your right, refs are not held accountable for nothing. And penalty shoulda been, on texas for throwing stuff on field causing a delay (they don't live in Cleveland) a smart man said 1 time. But nothing, texas got calls all night, spots, homecooking brother, all night. Whole crew should b suspended all year w/o pay.
I feel bad for what’s about to happen to Vanderbilt. Texas will be allowed to target, trip, late hit, hold, etc. in order for the SEC to get Texas into the playoff. I wonder how many Vandy players will be ejected or hurt just so Texas can shake the “not SEC ready” moniker.
@@hillbillysceptic1982 Their schedule upon their entry into the conference is ridiculous, and proves what you say to be true. They should have been given a schedule like ours or Floriduh's that they could prove their metal before annointing them king of the conference. You missed the details that make this so egregious. The flag was thrown, penalty assessed, chains moved, ball marked off. Play was about to continue, Georgia ball. Then bottles get thrown, delay of game, refs reverse an unreviewable play. Refs can pick up a flag, sure but not after announcing the penalty, marking the ball and allowing play to continue.

Don’t believe me? Watch! Listen, I don’t know what it is about GA. but we’re playing 2 teams almost every game! The refs and the team! I want all the games reviewed this year. Its time!!! W
Kirby spoke facts, and really doesn’t care what the media says because it gives him talking points for the team, now I am a lifelong Georgia fan, would not have happened if it were Saban. Go Dawgs
A lot of bad calls. Should have been penalized & fined. The defender was holding the receiver by his shoulders during the route. Dawgs had longhorns, ESPN peeps, Networks, & refs all against them. The changing of a call was illegal, refs are in trouble & should be fired. Why in the hell was a flag not thrown on the Texas fans for throwing beer, cans and bottles on the field? Plus the targeting calls where questionable especially the 2nd for sure.
Don't forget the CLEAR rushing touchdown call that the replay was conclusive, but they decided to rule in favor or Texas. Or, the UGA DT that had his jersey being ripped off due to a hold while Texas was throwing deep out of the endzone (should have been a safety) but yet they would only show the replay of the WR running the route and not the QB because the hold was so blatant they'd have to address it on TV.
@@timpadgett7840- I noticed that too. ESPN Never replayed those questionable calls that were gifted to texas. Keep in mind ESPN literally owns the Texas program. They bought them for $300M. It’s an absolute conflict of interest. ESPN also bought Penn State last year for $1B. My my my… two barely challenged teams owned by a major network happen to be in the top 5. 🤔 I’m sure it’s a coincidence.
I get your point and penalty. BUT….how do you distinguish visiting fans from home fans in the case of the debris on the field? For example, what if the call in Texas had been the other way and Ga was flagged for PI and the GA fans present got mad and threw debris on the field. Then Texas gets penalized because they are at home? If this was a rule would college kids just take bottles to games as visiting team to get a penalty on the other team if they had a chance to? This one was easy because it was a call against Tx in Tx that Tx fans thought was BS.
I think ESPN announcers are adding to the problem. They kept saying the refs did something weird, but they got it right... Many times refs get it wrong, and we get angry and move on, and do all we can to improve refs in the future (Much needed at this point) But to start correcting calls after they were made, when they are not reviewable calls, it's wrong... I am a Miami fan, some say we got all kinds of calls this year, but historically we got everything get called against us, and we deserve it because our players act like fools sometimes... So I don't have a horse in the race, but I WAS rooting for GA because I like Smart, but that didn't sway my opinion that this was 100% wrong. Go Canes!!!
I think the refs got that call right the first time too. The texas defender had the receiver by the shoulders and not only held onto him so he couldn’t stop to turn and catch the ball, but the cornerback also pushed off the UGA receiver so that his shoulders went the wrong way to keep him from turning and playing the ball. It was very smooth and happened fast, but that ref made the right call initially. That was Def PI.
PS. ESPN literally owns the texas fb program. They bought it for $300M years ago. They make millions when texas is hyped and propped up in the polls. They also bought the Penn State program for $1B last year. Both teams are untested and both teams are in the top 5 right now. Don’t believe me…? Look it up.

There was a lot of fuckery no one is talking about.
Not that I recall in college football. It happened in a Dallas v Detroit NFL game back in 2014 or 2015. Game was in Dallas and they reversed the call. So bad.
Not only should the call have not been overturned, the refs should've came out and instead of overturning it, said that they WERE going to overturn it, but because of the behavior of the TEXAS STUDENT SECTION, they would not.
ref discussions on penalties happen all the time, try and get it right because refs are typically not ontop of plays, are yards away. am not a fan of either, do not think the fan behavior had anything to do with it.
I don't agree with the 20 yard penalty fix. Mostly because the Texas TEAM is not at fault. He'll the head coach was tryna make them stop. It was either Josh pate or joel klatt that proposed a super challenge like they have in the xfl. That would be interesting and it might work well
Dude! You said, "We can debate, Is it the right call or the wrong call - It doesn't matter!" It DOES in fact matter! This is so silly! By logical necessity your video title can also be, "Why Texas and Texas fans have every right to be furious with Saturday's officiating". When egregious outrageous calls are made, especially in possibly game changing plays, then there is no rule of law and anarchy ensues! What is right is to fix what happened! The ONLY way to fix this going forward is to make these calls reviewable!
You nailed it. Students get paid millions, coaches get paid tens of millions, gambling revenues are off the charts, so yeah. Pay the refs, make it so they can be full time. Hold reffing seminars all year, build simulators the refs can train in.
Refs were terrible. The water bottles were poor sportsmanship no doubt. Which coach should be more upset. The refs managed to anger both coaches. Nobody tried to rob Kirby!! LOL That is just BS. They almost robbed TEXAS!! with that bad call. They already took back our kick off return, they almost took back the other biggest play by Texas. The refs should be given the right to review any call they want to review. I agree there should have been a penalty against Texas for the water bottles on the field. This is an awful situation for everyone and it did not really hurt Kirby because he did not get a huge swing because of a bad call. that is just silly thinking.
I saw the game on tv and the announcers, who always seem to know more than the refs , and no problem with the refs calling holding on that kickoff return. You make it sound liked Georgia won because of the refs.
Did you watch the game? That third down goal line run was a clear TD, when reviewed refs said he was short (ball clearly crossed the line) Georgia also got screwed out of a first down. Of course all that happened after the crybaby texas fans couldn't handle their emotions and bullied the refs. The amount of mental gymnastics you have to do to think texas got robbed is incredible.
@@jakejackson6730 Georgia won because their defense dominated the game and because Texas made silly mistakes. I don't think anyone is saying Georgia was not the better team Saturday, because they clearly were the better team. The fans acted poorly, but the refs were terrible and there is little doubt Texas got some bad calls. None of which would have effected the game that much, except that pass interference call that led to the fan reaction is was so bad. But for Kirby to throw a temper tantrum and say the refs were trying to cheat Georgia was absurd and laughable. He got mad because he did not get away with yet another favorable call from the ref.
@@philmorris8862 Texas because they lost the game. Only tough on the schedule . They don't play Tennessee, LSU, Alabama, or Missouri . Forgot they do have A&M at the end of year.
The call reversal was complete and total BS for 1 reason. There are highly questionable calls all the time. We've all seen PI not called plenty of times when the guy basically got tackled way before the ball got there AND we've also seen PI called plenty of times when the contact before the ball arrived was even less than in this play. College football had better do something about this.
I Agree The Bottles of Water On The Field Were a Disgrace But so was The Holding Call ...Sark Put His guys to Work and Quickly got The field Cleared....But The Real Really Bad DisGrace Was When Kirby Said They Tried To Rob us ! ...Lowlife POS !...Kirby Out Coached SARK and the Georgia Players Out played Texas and My Hat Is Off To Them ...They Earned that Win Convincingly But Don't Let That POS off The Hook For Saying They Tried to ROB us...
Bro, Texas got calls, and no calls all night, spots too. Go back and watch it with a open mind. I don't have a horse in the race, 20 year ref, Texas got favorable spots and calls all night. So yes they tried Rob Georgia, just like coach smart said 💯
Everyone who's not a texas fan thinks they tried to rob Georgia. The third down goal line run that was clearly a TD. The third down play that was a first down spotted a yard short, which cost Georgia a turnover on downs. That pass interference call that gave texas a TD. They absolutely tried to rob Georgia.

make the stuff of field penalty brutal, since its a major delay of game, make it a loss of downs as well, in addition to yardage
Not only should the call have not been overturned, the refs should've came out and instead of overturning it, said that they WERE going to overturn it, but because of the behavior of the TEXAS STUDENT SECTION, they would not.
That is just pure stupid way of looking at the play and call.
Waaaahhhhhh.
ref discussions on penalties happen all the time, try and get it right because refs are typically not ontop of plays, are yards away. am not a fan of either, do not think the fan behavior had anything to do with it.
Georgia Beat The Cow Shit Out of Texas hahahahahahaha
The refs dropped the ball, badly. The fans that threw crap, are ignorant.
You’ll see this follows texas fan base wherever they go. #lowclass
UGA wins and UGA still cries LOL
I agree with you and Coach Smart, but the Ref's make very little money. Offer better pay, get better quality officials.
yes, and they are part time. what a thankless job.
Absolutely correct
Texas screwed over the big 12 thats mizzou nebraska left. Texas is the problem always has been.
Georgia Beat The Cow Shit Out of Texas hahahahahaha
